"From the middle night of the Grateful Dead's second run of shows at Shoreline Amphitheatre, this Morning Dew occupies a somewhat usual placement for this era for this Jerry-sung standout, as a second set closer. This was one of 13 performances of Morning Dew in 1988, the final year Dew was performed into double digits." - David Lemieux
3/30/88 is another great one that year, into a great lovelight where Jerry and Brent engage is some great back up vocals. Another overlooked Dew to end the show is 3/24/86, which also includes the last sailor saint.

Yup. Me too. MD off of Europe 72 was one of my jumping on points. I saw several stirring performances of it, but nothing beat my first Dew at the Cap Centre in 88 that was followed a couple of songs later by...Ripple! That place rose several feet off the ground that night--exiting out through the halls after Ripple was nothing short of life changing: everyone chanting, banging on stuff, smiling, twirling--all in unison. Magic!
Just got done listening to this the day before .on the Grateful Dead station . Had the full concert what a great show . I was there and brought back memories
I was at this show. Maybe my 5th dead show and this just blew me away I knew the song from the grateful dead movie and I just could not believe i was witnessing such a thing.
a few weeks ago I was at the store- someone asked me if I was 'Jerry' I said -'Jerry who?' the person replied 'Jerry Garcia ' rest in peace thanks You for yor awesome songs
i just turned two yesterday. i cannot believe it took me so long to get into the dead when i've been spending the last twenty two months shitting myself listening to white snake and molly hatchet.
I've disliked videos and not even realized it. Sometimes you smash the button accidentally. You don't even realize you did it till you rewatch the video
A ying yang version. First half of the song Jerry's timing and phrasing is a little ummmm... wobbly, let's say. But wow, the playing from 7:00 on is something else. And gotta say the lighting is eerily brilliant.
I'd say yang->yin. Jerry carries the song and brings it places the band is not ready for. Bill appreciates where Jerry goes and can hang and approves enthusiastically at times. Jerry slows down beautifully and crisply later where the band can hang. Really a display of how Jerry could leave the band in the dust. This is an example of where Jerry taps into emotion and transcends the song into space no one has ever been. In time and form and structure. A new moment.
I'm must have gotten the dates wrong i know my son's first show was when he was a few days old and was at shoreline i could have believed this was the show
Over-processed. Somewhat industrial Obvious flubs Jerry’s in pain. And yes, it’s painfully beautiful. Jerry sacrificed himself the last 10 years of the Grateful Dead to ensure it’s legacy. Now go back and watch the October 74 Winterland version, and rejoice. ✌️❤️🎵🙏😊
When a person gets up in years, let’s say pushing 70, one better hope they have a sense of humor. Self deprecating humor is many times the best kind. Something to consider. Because it all starts to go to hell with age.
88 was weird. Apparently Jerry was supposed to be sober. However, he clearly is not. This is an example confirming that. He sure got his shit together in spring of 89 though. This morning dew is dog shit. Sorry.

Thanks for the upload! But what does "performed into double digits" mean. Does that mean more than 9 minutes?
@@Leib33 Good question.
There isn’t enough words to describe how much they help, heal and make people happy. Love this song 💙
If someone had taken too much and was freaking out, this song wasn’t just music anymore. It was medicine.

A little shaky, but the effort and heart were in the right place. Miss you JG!!
