Keep up the great work, Eva and John! I enjoy seeing your passion and skills come through so easily in these videos. Always a pleasant watch. Take care-from England.
I don't think they're that comparable because they're not the same set. A more helpful comparison would be 1 box of Evolving Skies vs if you'd bough 1 box each of Eevee Heroes, Blue Sky Stream and Towering Perfection. Evolving Skies still wins but it paints a much more even picture.
We actually looked into including Blue Sky Stream (I had the same exact thought as you!!), but it's sales data/count was actually EXTREMELY small and made no difference to the key takeaways. I can give a more detailed explanation shortly and will probably add something to the blog post explaining this
The price difference between the umbreons in prismatic and twrrestrial is the price difference that should have been between the evo skies and eevee heries
Cool to see the comparison. Another overlooked factor in JPN vs ENG pricing is forex valuations. Since evolving skies release, the yen has devalued ~33% to the dollar. The More You Know~~~
Interesting data! Would be cool to see 90 avg of just the top performing cards in Japanese (Eevee Heroes) / English (Evolving Skies). Dunno if the lower end cards are skewing the data?
Best pokemon is tough... but if I have to choose one its Gengar. As for msprnt, user should be ChrisAG but uncertain... doesn't show up in my profile info on your website (area of improvement - profile management!) p.s. sent an email to your YT mail last weekend asking for more info on Misprint and if you guys had any asks from the community to help push the business forward (and maybe thoughts on TAG...can't recall). If you didn't see it, wanted to flag. If you did and weren't interested, no worries and good luck!
Hi Chris! I just pushed a fix to the website. Now if you click on the account icon in the header you should be able to view your username at the top of the page :) I'll look at the email shortly. This past week we have been in a big tech crunch (we updated all of the underlying logic of our marketplace to implement the bid/ask system) and also re-did most of the front end styling of the site!
I'm curious about how you're sourcing and processing the data? I'm assuming you're getting it from ebay's sold listings api. Are you matching each sale to your internal card database, just based on the titles of the ebay listings? Also when you're charting the average price, you mentioned how the volume of moonbreons sold could incorrectly reflect an uptick in prices. Doesn't this present a general issue with just using the average sold price of all cards as the metric when comparing English vs Japanese. Since there could be higher volume of lower end cards in one language compared to the other, causing it to bring the average price down for that language, despite the prices of individual cards potentially being higher
We are not sourcing the data from eBay's listings API, or any other API. eBay's API is pretty limited in scope, and we need to capture all sales to do what we are trying to do on our website! We are making a card database, with the goal to have analytics for every card in every grade, you need millions of datapoints for that since there are 80k+ unique cards graded. Once we gather the sales data, yes we match it to our internal database! (we use more than just eBay title to classify sales though) Also yes that's possible, which is why we also showed the analytics for graded cards specifically (since people tend to only grade chase cards/cards worth grading). That's also why I said the starting point isn't as important as the overall trend. Since it's a 90 day rolling average, you don't really have to worry about variance in how much of each card is selling in a small window of time. On the blog post you can also see the 30-day chart :) All great questions, ty!!
@EvasBinder awesome, I really appreciate the thorough response. I've built an automated system for gathering card and sales data myself in the past, so it's fascinating to hear how you approached the same problem on a professional level. Excited to see how your platform develops!
I’ve never seen a power outlet higher than the switch for the lights before
I was wondering why there's a light switch and outlet on a chalk board
It went up after the bull market boom.
Why is that outlet so high up and in the middle of your chalkboard? Im so distracted by it
The world may never know
lets see that net present value. build me a spread sheet. Then I want to see that 420 day moving average.
I think what you're building is great and its cool to see how its coming along! Hoping to see more content like this :)
dvd on misprint!

@@EvasBinder Haha, I did think you might've had the same thought. 😂 Interesting, yeah I'd definitely be interested in hearing more if you get time.

Woah now that's how you do a whiteboard video...with a blackboard. Sorry Rudy, I think she's one upped you.
Rudy has 100M dollars worth of sealed and a broken PSA 9 chair. I think he is slightly more equipped but it's close.
I have a cracked cgc 8.5 Gambler slab (real pokemon card btw)
Does that count for anything?
