I think he deserves DPOY …. Regardless of the team record if ya look at his individual performances plus the on/off defensive metrics … it’s clear he’s been the best this year.
7 blocks is amazing and that doesn't count the number of times where opposing teams don't even try to go to the paint due to his presence.

No he’s not. Evidence of how excessive the hype was. Not impactful in the win column yet. Which makes the plot line better for me. I love that every player has many flaws and room for growth. Plus, it’s a team sport. So teammates affect everything.
No he's not. He is very inconsistent from game to game, and relies too much on shooting threes, and tries to dribble without success. He gets pushed around by many centers in the league. So he's not better than the hype, but he's ROTY and learning his way in the NBA.

There comes a time in every era when everyone knows “the guy” of a professional sport league. It’s a consensus undeniable unspoken event. Wemby is the guy. There’s no doubt.
I feel honored and lucky to see his early years before he even steps into his prime. The kid is absolutely ridiculous the shit he does every game. Even when he struggles offensively, hes still a major threat on the court given his size and IQ, knowing where to be and being one pass away on defense to everyone on the court. Put him on a contending team today, theres nothing he has to improve on to be the key and x factor to a chip. Any improvement is just bonus, the guy is ridiculous

Yep, but I was really impress with the execution on that Fastbreak. He made it seem real easy, but i've seen most point-guards over-dribble on FB opportunities like that. For him it was split -second instinct... It's Wemby's natural feel for the game that almost ALL of us never knew he had... AND he's got it at 20-yrs old. It's really hard to teach that, and predict that...
