As a newbie to basketball, can you explain why that is? Is it tougher to shoot because of being too tall? I know the taller dudes are used to being near the basket but from what I understand these dudes the taller guys are also shooting more from 3, so why is that so impressive? @@raider1297 From a mechanics standpoint, it's harder for longer players to develop a proper shooting form. Their longer limbs mean greater travel distance. You can see this with Victor actually, his off the dribble three is good, but his catch and shoot is abysmal. When going off the dribble, the wind up flows naturally from his movement, while from catch and shoot, he uses more movement. From training standpoint, most tall kids are taught to play under the rim (which is a wrong way of training kids), at least in the USA. In Europe, young kids are taught all the fundamentals regardless of their size, that's why you see more versatile players coming from Euroball.

It's truly unfair and one of a kind. It's not so much that he is specifically 7'4, but that he is huge, has the skills of a big man, and has the skills of a 3 point sniper all in just his first year, not to mention his absurd blocking ability which not all big men have.
There is a documentary that was released in France about Victor. They truly received an excellent education with loving parents and a very close-knit sibling group. Besides being incredibly talented, Victor is also very intellectual. He has always been different from a young age, preferring to draw or read books rather than play video games or surf the internet. He doesn't like money, which he finds unhealthy; I think he would play basketball even without a salary. He truly loves the game. We are incredibly fortunate to watch him progress and take over from the likes of Jordan, Kobe, and LeBron as a flag bearer of global basketball.
