Lake City, Florida was originally named Alligator in 1821 but was given its current name at a later date. The biggest Civil War battle in the state of Florida took place right here in Lake City.

I moved to Lake City when I was just 3 years old (1976) - and remained until I finished my first 2 years of college . (1994ish) It has changed so very much since I lived there. Was once a very quaint little town, everyone knew each other and usually their business! LMAO! Now listed as the 2nd most dangerous city in FL
