Volvo XC40 full review

I recently tested the fully electric Volvo XC40 P6 Recharge (front-wheel drive) in very cold and winterly conditions around 0° Celcius or colder.
The Volvo XC40 is a great car with plenty of Volvo "oomph" and Swedish quality despite the fact that it is built at Volvo's Belgian factory in Ghent and based on Geely technology.
But it is also a boxy SUV with with a fairly high coefficient of drag of 0.329 causing a slightly worse efficiency compared to similarly sized competitors. For most drivers the consumption will not be a problem unless you drive long distances at highway speeds.
Is the front-wheel drive XC40 better than the rear-wheel drive? I will test the 2024 rear-wheel drive later this year and then I will let you know.
I like the excellent Volvo XC40 because of its great built-in ergonomics, perceived quality and the google-based in-car entertainment system and software.

Volvo is going to all the trouble trying to re-launch their brand in Australia. From IKEA like dealerships to letting prospective buyers try an ICE car for 48h just to move some vehicles. More amazing is that our local Audi dealer got this dealership next to Haval, Skoda, Peugeot and Great Wall. He also sells the little Ora but no charging port anywhere near. Volvo's local reputation of selling tanks to the paranoid is still lingering. Will their dual marque with Polestar find room where Mazda failed?

Relaunches are difficult. The XC40 is a fine car, though not as chiq as the Polestar.
