  • The newest version of the Patagonia Houdini Stash 1/2 Zip Pullover is robust for being super lightweight. It seems to not breath as well as previous versions, but that is ok. It is great for wind protection as well as light precipitation.

Thanks for you I just ordered this jacket. I have the old Houdini air with a hood and about half of it is covered in tech-tape so it will be nice to have one a little tougher. Also for running and cycling the hood is as you said pretty un manageable. Love it for multi pitch etc. like the multi color options too. Have fun out there

I was really hoping this hoodless version was an “air” version. Maybe next time.

That would have been excellent! I can give them that feedback at the next meeting with them.

Does it fit a lot baggier compared to the original Houdini jacket?

Less breathable? Jeeze, the Houdini is a just a tarp at this point lol. Seriously, who needs or wants a completely non-breathable layer for anything other than rain? This could be great if they just treated it as a windlayer.

I hear ya on that! LOL. I have used many other wind jackets that are more breathable. But... the Houdini seems more "resilient" to weather. So, I suppose we have to weigh out options for what we want. Seems to always be a compromise of some sort. Take care!

What do you mean resilient to weather? How do you think this will do for running in freezing temps? I only run three miles, but I try to do it before sunrise, so the temp will feel colder.
