    the world owes these men so much. if it weren't for them, the whole concept of video games may have never even existed, and my entire childhood would have been empty and boring.
    seriously, if i was steve russel, i would be the most arrogant fuck in the world, knowing that i had created the most awesome and influential form of entertainment to come from the 20th century.

    Neither game is a "Video Game" since neither of them produces a video signal. Tennis for two displayed on an Oscilloscope and Steve Russell's Space War was run on a PDP minicomputer and was a computer game.
    Too many people fall too easily into using the common term "Video Game" to describe every type of game with some form of display or screen. In fact, the term "Video Game" didn't enter the public vernacular until 1973.
