- I've been playing a lot of STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl on Steam . however the base game from 2007 is incredibly janky so I run it with the following mods for general quality of life game play mods

@@faydulaksono I was in the Nation Guard on convoy security in Southeast Iraq not far from Kuwait, Charlie Co. 949th, side note: we had many options to choose from for PC gaming, nothing topped SOC

@@mustafaaaraheem5600 Believe it or not laptops in the early 2000s already had a lot of software built in, when they made laptops back then it was very little you had to do to it as far as upgrades, we all had laptops, plus it was pretty much like our cell phones because we had to use Skype and messenger in order to communicate unless you want to pay over $2,000 for a cell phone bill due to the distance, I had a Toshiba at the time, the graphics wasn't too different from the game trailer, and I personally don't remember anybody having to do any special upgrades in order to play

I was on the fence about trying mods for the original 3 games because I wasn't confident that I could make them work. But this video was super helpful, and I couldn't be happier with the results. Just these 3 simple mods are perfect as far as what I was looking for. Thank you for this incredibly easy to follow tutorial! 👍👍

Great tutorial and nice mods. I only have OWR3 installed currently but it makes the gun animations much smoother and the sounds are much more impactful. Definitely recommend these.

I was crashing a bit too and this helped a lot. I also have anomaly gamma, but I've been reading it was recommended to start with this before touching gamma lol
I don't think it really matters what you start with all that much ...some people are a bit gatekeepery about sort o stuff. I myself got into stalker via Dayz Mods

people need to note that original weapon renewals scope overlays are wrong, the first time you use a pso it'll be fucked, they're 1920x1200

played stalker for like 6hour so i get some vanilla experience it's not that bad imo i'm used to playing old games in this day n age,but the mod make it so much better the gun one with double damage for everybody make the animation way smoother that alone make it more than easy to get into doesn't feel like a 2007 game

P.S.: At first, I tried your method, but it didn't work until I realized that all of the folders are required to be put into the 'gamedata' folder. After putting them into the 'gamedata' folder, it works perfectly.

hey I got an error saying path E is not accessible? Im not sure if the HD models are working on mine but I dont mind the graphics anyways thank you so much for your help man I'm loving this game although on my PC the loading screens are hella long don't know whats up with that TBH.

Hey, when i tried moving the OWR3 files to the gamedata folder it got stuck in a long loading screen with the time just continually going up. Is that the cause of installing the wrong file or do i just wait forever?
I had a problem with crashing to desktop, and the only thing out of place was the fact that 'Knife' (Quieter Knife) in the Modifier.exe was erroring because a line in the file "snd_shoot = weapons\knife_1,1.0" wasn't recognized for some reason.
I fixed it by going into ZRP_1.07_R5\gamedata\config\weapons\w_knife.ltx, copying that file, and replacing the OWR3_ZRPtweaks_IncreasedWeaponDamage\gamedata\config\weapons\w_knife.ltx file with the previous file, and THEN replacing everything in gamedata and I was able to load up my latest save w/o crashing.
I just started playing SOC a few days ago and I think I'm still fairly early game ( I just hit the X-12 lab ) so I'm unsure if any later game saves would also work. But that was my personal solution to the problem so I thought I'd share it.
what about absolute nature & structures and shaders max..?
I did everything exactly as the video said but i launch the game and it does say ZRP on the main menu but when i load a save or start a new game, the mods arent thereg it's just the base game. Why?

Do you know how to cap the game at 60fps? I only have 60hz monitor but getting stupid amount and its causing tearing xD
not an issue i've had , but a quick google search showed me quite a few possible fixes so i suggest you try that..

When i launched stalker and loaded into my save it crashed also modifier shows no mods and says it cant find the directory

with mods it's best to..otherwise you get clashes with different files

I donno , you could probably hook up your controller via steam for the steam version of the game.

Figured it out if anyone has this problem make sure to extract mods into gamedata file if not you ain't getting jack shit

I installed all mods, followed exactly as it is, but whenever I launch from steam it crashes. any fix?

So did you find any fix? It opened good first time for me then I made some changes in modifier now it crashes
@@thus.spoke.zarathustrai simply deleted the files and uninstalled from steam and reinstalled. I thought I'll refinish the story then mod it

Never had this issue ...you might want to try a reinstall or try the VRA mod instead

I don't see sense loading mods to make the game look "better" when you can play Anomaly if this is what you care about. I expected different story lines, missions and new stuff. Soc looks nice for a game of it's time, it's mechanics and gameplay are pretty good too. You sound like a gen z kid who plays Cod warfare all day.

I’m just trying to find a bug fix mod and can’t find any tutorial, I want the game to stay as it is graphically, my PDA is buggy keeps telling me I have unread journal entries etc when I’ve already read them. Mini map won’t work and the some mission markers won’t go away for missions I already did
