The door thing is a PTSD thing. I have the same issue after repeated sexual assaults from childhood to early adulthood, living in a 3rd world country, and a few dangerous cities across America. I don’t even like people being behind me. Even now, I’ve got my house like Fort Knox: deadbolts, bars by windows, doors, etc, an alarm system, dogs, cameras from surrounding neighborhors, a very active neighborhood watch (neighbors called the cops when I was showing renters a tour- I don’t rent anymore- but I was actually proud as hell and called my neighbors to say thanks because I appreciated that, they had my back), and I still sleep with a knife or two (working on getting my handgun). I’ve got health issues and know damn well how to turn my various equipment into weapons. I may be paranoid but life’s taught me not to be slacking. If something happens to me it won’t be from something I could’ve prevented.
I was a Guard in Arkansas and as I was strip searching an inmate I heard a cell phone ringing. The dude looks at me with them Oh Shit crazy eyes...I called the supervisor and he called for a medial transport unit to take the inmate to the hospital. They fed him MiraLax by the damn pound for about 36 hours until he shit it out. I'm sure he never did that again...

Great idea to rank the most dangerous states to do time. Can you make a list of the most dangerous joints in each state? Love your content. Keep up the great work
My little brother was held for a few months on Death row inside Holman prison/ high security prison. He was almost killed at a low level work release in Loxley Alabama, y'all have probably heard of inmates escaping from Loxley Alabama work release facility. My brother fought for his life for 22 hours straight while holding another inmate hostage but the inmate was already inside of this 2-3 man holding tank. At the time, Another prisoner was trying to catch a transfer bc he had a 30+ year sentence. And had put in for a transfer over 2 years prior to my brother being attacked... this inmate waiting for a transfer found out my brother was getting money, they were all fucking jealous, so this dude figured he'd try n stab my brother or take his life to get transferred immediately. My brother watched all this unfold before his eyes but by this time the crooked cops were paid off and they basically took this inmate out to where they were keeping my brother & was trying to provoke my brother to cuff up n they needed to talk to him about something. My brother barricaded himself in the holding tank and fought for his life for 22 hours straight... he was So scared that he wasn't going to survive that when the cops n inmates walked off to gather their minds on how to get to my brother, my brother took a magic marker and wrote notes to his family down the side of his legs that if anything happened to him and he was killed he wrote officers names along with the inmates name that was trying to kill him. Basically, my brother was telling his family that he loved us and wanted us to know he was fighting for his life... thanking God daily for his fast thinking and quick actions because he definitely would not be home now if he didn't do what he did. He saved his own life by busting a fire extinguisher and spraying the inmate & those crooked ass police officers. That's what caused the emergency alarm to sound bc my brother broke the emergency Glass and sounded it making the other police come see what was up. That night they shipped out my brother to Holman prison where he was housed on death row in a cell by himself n he told me that cell was haunted in the worse possible way. He said that something was pulling on his legs and his body while he was in bed. But he spent remaining of his sentence housed in Holman prison on death row strictly for his own safety.
@@meganvandi9071 he was only being housed on DR for a few months. He had to be placed in protective custody due to severe overcrowding. My brother has been home a long time now. Over 10 years.
@@hybridsolutions77glad to hear he's home and safe now. He ain't playing around about that haunting stuff either... they house dudes who got real demons on their backs and in their minds. When those dudes die, their demons stick around instead of moving on, because that's just their kind of place. Those cells are places where the human spirit is the most isolated and vulnerable (ripe for picking). That's really why all those dudes lose their minds the way they do, they live with unbelievable phenomenon that torment them, and being treated like you're crazy when it's really happening will actually drive a person crazy. Well, crazier than landing yourself in one of those cells to begin with, anyway. But your brother was only a visitor ; most guys never even leave those cells to be able to tell anyone what they experience in a lot of them. Idc what religion or lack thereof that you believe in, this shit is real and it's nothing that anyone wants to find out for themselves.
I did 2.5 years in Louisiana DOC. I was 19 when I started my sentence, or "jose" as we call it. What I can tell you about my experience is that slavery is not only still legal here, it's an active money machine for the state and private investors. There isn't much gang activity, more so just cliques of dudes from the hardest projects in New Orleans or Shreveport or baton Rouge. Gangs aren't so much the problem, it's more about race. I'm white, from New Orleans, never really saw much racism until I went to prison. I thought as long as I showed everyone respect, they would show it back. Wrong. Black guys would assume whites were soft or push overs, and would constantly disrespect the entire Caucasian race. I've never been in so many fights in my life. Food is an issue. You will starve if you don't have money to get canteen or commissary. Louisiana is a poor state run by money hungry crooks that profit off slave labor. Your best bet is to try to get out of the parish jail to a state prison where the food is better and bigger portions. Also, unless you're in a bigger facility, don't expect any educational programs or yard time. You're lucky if you go outside at all. I once didn't see the sun for 7 months. We mostly have open dorms as opposed to cell blocks. We still got cells but those are not usually for general population. In DOC, there's no air conditioning. It's fucking hot. Really hot. All those ppl who say they need it to be like 68 degrees with a fan blowing directly on them are in for a rude awakening. You gon learn to sleep sweating or you're gonna be exhausted at work call the next morning. It sucks but you get used to it. Everybody else in human history before electricity did it, you can too you fuckin pansies. There isn't much in terms of weights. But again, if you go to a bigger facility, they got a few weight piles that only go up to 95 lbs. You can get kinda jacked with enough time. I went home 20 lbs heavier. Pure muscle. I was always skinny, but after gaining weight in prison, and continuing to lift after I got out, I now got a little size. I'm up to 180 and ripped. In prison you CANT look frail or like you can't defend yourself. Got some ink on the inside too. It honestly helped me blend in. It's more violent in the smaller jails than the bigger prisons in my opinion. It's mostly black people who get involved in incidents. It is what it is. I didn't make it this way.
Yeah but Central and South American guards can be bought. El Chapo calmly slipped down the hole into the tunnel that had been being made. Pablo Escobar bought his own Institution, right? Plus the race war politics. You all got ten different gangs in ONE house? I’m not buying it. Prison in California would do on anyone used to prison down South.
I have been a long time subscriber though first time I have commented ... I would just like to say hello from Redcliffe, Queensland Australia first off and secondly I would just like to say a huge thank you to you Death aka Josh, you have been a great help to help me explain to my 17 year old son how to stay out of jail (prison)!! HUGE THANK YOU TO YOU AGAIN!!
I’ve never been to prison but I’ve seen more than my fair share of county jails. I’m from South Louisiana. I just did a little 60 day bid in NY outside of Syracuse. The jail up here was like a Four Seasons or a Hilton compared to back home in Louisiana. I know dudes back home that wouldn’t give a fuggggg about getting arrested if the jails down there were like up here in NY. Up here they give you white T’s, socks, underwear, one man cell, as much toilet paper as you need, guards actually control the jail, each pod had a basketball court you can use any time you please, you can use a tablet 2 hrs per day, if there’s a fight the guards actually respond and lock down the whole jail, much less dangerous. Microwave in every pod. You get NONE of that in Louisiana. And in LA if they throw you in the wrong dorm where you don’t know anyone, you might get JUMPED and beat every day and guards will never respond unless you die. Ask me how I know. Hell on earth.
Aye it’s ironically the “Bible Belt” we’re use to that type in humane shit....My childhood friend a lil older then me died in county out here in southern NC I know numerous people that was locked up with him he lied about his age and shit they found out they took him outta juvenile put him in the murder block got into a fight dude i know in for murder slammed him on his head killed him he just turned 18 dude was in his late 20’s the dirty ass sheriff had it ruled Natural causes in his casket you could still see the bruising on his head...30 days for failure to appear turned into a death sentence...

My ex mother in law was a CO at Lee Correctional in SC. We were shocked when sweet granny told us she took the job. It didn't take long for her to turn into the terminator. Did i mention it's a men's prison? There have been multiple riots and fires there, COs held hostage. Scary place. It's not even the worst in SC.
I got arrested in Atlanta once for a misdemeanor charge with marijuana and just spent a night in jail then bailed out. just stayed in a cell for 6 hours then moved to another one for a few hours. I was 18 at the time, and I’m 5’8” and average build so I couldn’t tell if the guys were trying to scare me, but I was alone for about an hour, fell asleep, and woke up to a guy who wasn’t cooperating, officers told him to get on the ground because he was squirming all over the place while they took off his cuffs and he said “oh I’ll get on the ground” and face dived into the ground. Next guy that came in was this middle aged white guy that called himself rob banks. A few more middle aged guys came in over the next couple hours, and they were all nice as hell telling me what to expect and telling stories. Next cell i was in was all people my age, one crazy rich white kid, one cool as hell black guy, and a couple Latinos. Was an interesting experience to say the least, but that was all the taste I needed to know I don’t want to be in there for more than a night lol. A night was easy but I’d go insane spending years in there.
Bro I remember one time I had a walk thru, basically the same thing u did n they put me in a holding cell one time with a guy they were transferring. Idk how we got on the topic but we were talking about what we were in for n this guy comes out n says he was in for murdering a couple ppl!! I was like holy shht. But he was chill just sitting on the floor waiting to be carted off to his next home for some years. Smh I think that was like my second walk thru. I always meet some cool ppl when I take those trips. Hopefully I don’t have to take anymore lol. Take care stay safe/dangerous ✌🏽
That's not how holding cells work and you don't go to jail for one day unless you came to jail from a courtroom on some very, very minor probation violation or a criminal contempt charge. You're lying.
@@theworkingexcon2924 its level 1 - 4 with 4 giant facilities, its the only death row prison in cali, and its the most populated in cali. Explain to me how its a "low level program prison"

Death row is it's own unit and if you're a lvl 4 in sq....youve programmed so long they're giving u level 2 privileges. You can't be "with the shit" and program that long. You're programming. The era Johnny cash performed I concede was different. Anything else.... No. Not hearsay.... But saying been through it it's not.
Bro, I love the channel. You have some fire content and I can relate to a lot of it. I've done 2 prison bids and have been to 4 different camps. I think it would be cool to see some content on underrated prisons. Prisons that are dangerous that you don't hear much about. I live in Georgia and this is a major incarceration state. Hundreds of prisons here and some serious shit behind a lot of them.
I'm surprised New York didn't make that list, but, I'm sure there are reasons. Like so many other youngsters, when I was between 18 and 21, I didn't think I would be afraid to go to Prison at all if it came down to it. It is, of course a lot easier to not fear, what you aren't actually facing, but, after my 1st Son was born, I was terrified of even getting 90 days in Jail. I grew up hanging out with all the wrong people, so, it didn't seem like it would be much, if any, different whether I was around them inside or outside and I did many things that could have resulted in a Prison "Bid", as you call it. After my Son was born, I took a G.E.D. test and started a Community College and started heading the direction of becoming a good provider for my family. When I started taking Law Classes, with the goal of becoming a Defense Attorney, my eyes were opened wide to the realities of the type of insane people who get locked up in many cases. I didn't see a Prison, but, I did view and write reports on hundreds of Felony Trials and I was shocked. I was never afraid to fight, even pick up a bat or something to equal the odds when needed, but, the inmates at a level 4 Prison are like the Major Leaguers of violence, it's a completely different thing to defend yourself in freedom vs Prison, your options are significantly limited in Prison and these guys are ALL up for a fight. I don't know how Jackson Prison in Michigan ranks nationally, but, I have heard and seen enough now to know that I have absolutely zero desire to see first handedly. I've seen dudes who get consecutive life sentences with no chances for Parole not even flinch when getting sentenced. I have seen dudes who look like they have no soul, being led out of the Court Room towards their new Prison home. I can't imagine how anyone wouldn't have fear when they're facing years in a box with Criminal killers who have absolutely nothing to lose by catching one more life sentence.
The second time I was locked up in opp, they were still useing the tents 2013. I did two mounths before I was extradite to North Carolina, not fun!!!! In the two mounths I was there I saw crack smokeing I shit you not. People talk about OPP like it is the eage of hell,,,, what do you want me to say it was jail, I did not like it.
My great grandfather was the warden of prison that’s now split into fountain and Holman prison. When he was the warden it was one big state pin. It is a huge farm and the prisoners were used to farm the land. They say it was hard work but they ate good back then. Now they are trying to build a private prison here in Atmore Al. I hunt with a warden that just retired from the prison and they aren’t that bad they aren’t riddled with PTSD lol. I never heard of a strike that the guard ls went on. Recently the prisoners used cell phones to shed light on how bad they were being treated. They FaceTimed the news it was a big deal.

I know it's been a long time since this video was posted, but I am a resident of the number 3 state. Knowing people inside as inmates and as staff members was crazy. It was so bad that the staff that was there quit that night. One of the inmates that was killed was arrested for shooting my older cousin. Karma came back quickly. Inmates are still being killed and prison life will never change. Never thought SC was up in the ranks but that's what it is.

saw holman on lockup on msnbc. thought that was a bit interesting. watched the extended stay. for some reason prison related stuff has interested me since i was a kid maybe its because i went to missouri prisons to visit my parents. But they were in pretty low security prisons. If i remember right. Dad was in one in Jeff city but I think he had a pretty low security class and mom was at rens women's prison back in the nineties. I was five when she went ad dad went in ninety four for about five months. he got out on good behavior. so there ya go. mom may have had more issues.
I live in Alabama. My uncle and 1st cousin spent several years in Holman. I remember being on the phone with my uncle in the early 2000’s when he called. I was scared just hearing what was going on in the background. I have a classmate I graduated with in Holman for murder now. Ventress and Draper is bad too. Bibb Correctional is about 20 miles from me in my county. Back in the summer they had a murder every week there. My uncle and cousin are both dead but I could probably put you in touch with somebody that’s recently been released from if not Holman one of the other prisons.
I’m sure there are many Hispanics in both SC & NC Prisons bc a lot of them come here to work. We have a lot Agricultural jobs here and they come to work.
I knew you’d say Bama’ because I’m watching this retroactively and I’ve been subscribed for three years. Too bad the movie Forrest Gump didn’t portray Forrest and Bubba doing a piece down in Bama after Vietnam.

Wow truly sad hopefully you'll live happy joyous and Free

Thank you for your endeavor. Sad world. My first prison was my home. Love your show.
Randall 😳 whoa
He was on death row but home now?
I'm so glad he made it out.

SCARIEST SYSTEM IN AMERICA
Thanks for your testimony wow ...
Bro do a interview on here with lockdown 23 and 1. Your comment deserves more likes

Yeah but Central and South American guards can be bought. El Chapo calmly slipped down the hole into the tunnel that had been being made. Pablo Escobar bought his own Institution, right?
Go to Rikers and then talk. Most dangerous jail in America. Yall country hillbillies wouldn't last

Lying for less than 6 internet points a year, too. *CRINGE*

🔥 content as always Death 💯
My uncle did 8 years in Holman. He said the very first night he saw someone get stabbed to death
Because this one is about prisons not jails

Im glad this channel exists its very educational
Great video! Thank you, Josh.
Keep em coming!!!
South Carolina Prisons are no joke! For real!

They got Latinos in SC? I need to be with Latinos.
I’m sure there are many Hispanics in both SC & NC Prisons bc a lot of them come here to work. We have a lot Agricultural jobs here and they come to work.

Full length swords in Alabama! Damn that’s crazy!
I knew you’d say Bama’ because I’m watching this retroactively and I’ve been subscribed for three years. Too bad the movie Forrest Gump didn’t portray Forrest and Bubba doing a piece down in Bama after Vietnam.
