- Warisan Tan Chong, the official distributor for GAC in Malaysia, has today debuted their Aion Y Plus electric hatchback for the Malaysian market, with it the new Aion electric sub-brand. The Y Plus takes aim at the BYD Atto 3 and Chery Omoda E5 but where those come as crossovers, the Y Plus is a funky little hatchback. With plenty of character & technology to match its funky set of colourways, the Aion Y Plus aims to be your ideal plus one... apparently.

With so many players in the market, and considering our (relatively) small car market, it's inevitable some will exit the market due to lack of economy of scale. There is bloodbath among EV makers in China, and looks like it's spilling over to other market as well. Best to wait and see for now if one decides to go for one of these China brands.
I also assume, that only the big players will surface - and not all these start-ups.
Had a look at it at Malaysia Autoshow.. the interior space is impressive, especially at the back. Can't wait to test drive.
Small families would love this car. Even the starting price point is attractive.
wonder how this bulk drives and what top speed it can garner
Omoda E5 competing against Atto3 isnt it? Not the Dolphin right?
Yes
