RainWatch - The next 8 days around NZ

Our latest RainWatch updates tracks the wet weather around the country this weekend - and what is happening next week.
Basically low pressure continues around NZ for Friday and Saturday then clears away. From Sunday through to the end of next week the country is more in a west to south west set-up which brings in showers to the south and west of New Zealand.
We break down where the rain will be - and won’t be - over the next 8 days.

Whoever was doing the rain dances around the New Plymouth area certainly deserves their bonus as the rain started last night and continued all day. I was travelling from the people’s republic of Whangamomona to Waitomo and it rained heavily all day, not letting up until I got to Waitomo, the countryside did seem to be rather damp.

A happy Aussie - thankfully that COLD southerly breeze finally stopped in the early AM as I woke at nearly 3am in a sweat & had to open my bathroom window & peel of my jacket & today it is back to what it was a week ago, cool but mild in comparison to what the last few days have been. If that is going to be a taste of winter, then I hope it stays away until May!! ☹
