- During an archeological excavation - a set of Gates were discovered. People quickly realized that these ancient passages lead to different realms and dimensions. Rynoka, a small commercial village, was found near the excavation site - providing brave and reckless adventurers with treasures beyond measure.
Moonlighter is an Action RPG with rogue-lite elements that demonstrates two sides of the coin - revealing everyday routines of Will, an adventurous shopkeeper that secretly dreams of becoming a hero.
Features:
While conducting your business in Rynoka village, you can put items on sale, set their price carefully, manage gold reserves, recruit assistants and upgrade the shop. Be careful though - some shady individuals may want to steal your precious wares!
Getting to know Rynoka’s residents and understanding needs of customers is crucial. Some folks may have special quests for you, requesting rare items and offering handsome rewards in return.
Crafting and enchanting system is essential for the your progression. Interacting with the villagers is the way to craft new armors, weapons and enchant existing equipment. This creates a great deal of flexibility and spices up the way the equipment is used.
While visiting other worlds, collect valuable resources, weapons, armors, treasures and peculiar artifacts. Then, manage acquired loot using unique inventory-based abilities.
Defeating various enemies and bosses, revel in the challenging and deep combat mechanics. The depth of combat depends on the interactions between weapons, abilities, enemies and secondary effects of items. Feel comfortable developing your own battling style.
Gates lead to different worlds. Each run is unique and forces you to take some smart decisions. You never know what you will encounter next - that’s why you have to be prepared for everything.

I like that they binded the escape to a button, and added a bag capacity under the bag icon. Small changes that increases quality of life!

I just started playing this on the Switch. It's a great game. At the end of each level, there's a mini boss now. I was disappointed to see there wasn't because I kind of wanted to see you get destroyed with a full inventory.

Wooo what a great looking game never heard of it before I was looking in the PSstore to look for something special to buy and one of my habits is to look up gameplay on TH-cam so that is where I am now real nice animations and little special graphical effects when you fight and destroy an enemy.Very unfortunate that it seems that only triple A games get a lot of attention and that jewels like Moonlighter stays under the radar.
I was screaming at the screen when you put all your stuff in the chest instead of your inventory... first you did it right, then you said „oh, the other direction“ and I was „nooooooooo...“ even after hearing later on that you did it on purpose. It just hurted ;)

Thank you for highlighting this game. It's neat and very pretty. Compared to Recettear, it seems the dungeon delving is a bit more involved, but it the charm of the haggling minigame is gone. I also really appreciated the tempo set by the increasing debt payments and there doesn't seem to be a corollary to that system in this game. :(

Владимир Омельченко actually, bartering is the ideal system because currency is worthless as far as physical value goes.
It is very difficult to maintain a barter economy though, and in modern times more so than ever. Large enough economies will always prefer currency over physical money because it is easier to exchange. The best currency right now seems to be cryptocurrency for the reasons of privacy, security, accessibility, ability to make transactions with people who may be too far away, predictable supply of such currency, and decentralised nature of such currency. It is the best demand-based currency as far as I am concerned.
But the problem is that crypto currency either has unknown backers/creators, or is used by small companies like Helio. This leads to a slight risk to it, one that traditional currency does not have. The main issue I have with paper currency is that it has too many variables, at least with plated currency or plain mineral currency you can rely on the demand for the mineral in question if the exchange rates bottom out. You're correct on the barter system, but it is the only system which does not hinge on large scale intrinsic value, and thus is the only ideal system.
There are risks with crypto, but if the crypto market gets bigger, the currency will eventually stabilise to a managable degree, making it the prefered choice, but until then, using sound money like you propose would be the better choice.
