I’ve been with Xbox since the ending era of the 360 so 2013-2014, after playing for around 10 years I can safely say Xbox is fading like Marty Mcfly. It all started with the Xbox one and the presentation, it was clear as day they wanted you to just stream everything. Back then it seemed a but far fetched but look at the past 6 years, they’ve done all they promoted themselves to do.
So Xbox is done because they advertised Gamepass! Genius take! 🤣 You have more access to Xbox games is somehow a bad thing? All they did was advertise a service they've been offering for years now. 🤦♂️
Honestly this is probably the worst marketing I've seen from Xbox and PlayStation. Sony hiding prices due to heavy pushback. And Microsoft losing the plot on what Xbox used to mean for gamers during the 360 era.
This (idea) could have been used for an advert for the PS2, where there actually WAS a tv that had a PS2 built into it; albeit only in PAL 720p (and a few other caveats, like no memory card functions?) (if memory serves correct). Although this was a fair number of years ago now. (Although, thinking about it Microsoft could have advertised with packaging that has been flattened and taken to be recycled and call that an 'ex-box'. Or an egg carton, which can also be called an 'eggs box'; you can't play games on either of these though; even though they are correctly named otherwise.). (The 'eggs box' is a reference to a certain sketch shown on the BBC that might need to be explained). LOL.
I'm a Playstation gamer since PS1, but I always acknowledged Xbox as it's parallel competitor. But seeing this transition by Microsoft tells me this is the beginning of the evolution of gaming, gradually moving away from hardware and disc to eventually all digital and streaming
Won't happen , we have competitive gaming and your always gonna be introducing some level of lag when streaming it's not like Netflix where they just streaming a video file and personally I think it's all backwards , why would I want to stream when I have a console I don't need my quality dipping because someone decides to watch a TH-cam video ya know
Xbox has been done for me since 360 ended. I don't play much, and I don't buy games anymore, not like I used to. I use my One X for mainly streaming Hulu, Netflix, and watch dvd's. I got tired of micro transactions in games. Besides, I feel like the best games came out on 360 than the Xbox Series X/S and One/X. Xbox 360 was the best era in gaming.
@@MrAdam802 it ain't that hard to understand. The Xbox of old that we all loved is dead at this point. It's been a long time coming with the moves xbox has been making. Xbox trying to make the Xbox One an online only entertainment center was the beginning of the end. Is the entirety of xbox dead right now? Of course not. It is still survived by this new version of xbox that puts the console on the wayside and focuses on streaming to your tv. Idc if you like that, that's fine, but it's certainly not the xbox we grew up with. Screaming clickbait at everything is not going to make the old xbox come back. Let's use some brain power and read between the lines. Why do you think I would be pushing for companies to NOT make new consoles? My main channel is literally all about consoles. More consoles = more content. But do you really think they are gonna release a normal console next? I sure hope they do, but with how they have done things recently, you'd be a fool to believe that. It's gonna be a fire stick or some crap where you can stream Xbox Series Z games.
no wonder retro gaming has boomed in the past few years, Sony and Xbox has lost touch with their customers, and lost sight of their identity. in the in the late 90s and 2000s during the 5th - 7th gen gaming consoles it was honestly just no nonsense simplicity, even if people think it's too ancient and hard to get up and pop a disc in or plug something in, it just felt worth it because it just works. now we gotta navigate this corporate nonsense. honestly the only company that is still like this is Nintendo, even if people hate them for their Dogma against Emulation.
As a PC player who doesn’t have to live with the consequences of this I welcome Xbox going full third party because then I get to laugh hysterically as Sony fanboys get their wish for Sony to become a monopoly😂. Microsoft hasn’t even left yet any Sony is already rap ng the paypigs dry by raising the prices of the base consoles, and controllers (haven’t even fixed stick drift, so from a consumer’s standpoint there’s no reason for the increased price. Plus, their older controllers didn’t have drift since then they actually cared about making a good product). They’re also charging $700 for what in most cases is just a marginal upgrade that doesn’t even include the disk drive/stand, and isn’t backwards compatible with disks prior to the PS4. It’s going to be so entertaining watching this dumpster fire unfold once the competition is gone (not that Microsoft has been competing. They clearly haven’t cared since the Xbox One reveal. And Nintendo are doing their own thing)🤣
People still trying to console war in 2024 is cringe af. The era of exclusives is DEAD! Everyone is 3rd party now. Hardware sales are no longer the metric to measure success. This is the future of gaming, and Microsoft's new campaign is very pro consumer.
Microsoft is pushing Xbox as a subscription service and they want to go entirely digital. Sort of how Netflix can be accessed and used on several types of devices, they want the same for Xbox. It was a good run, but GaaS (Games as a Service) is not for me.
Innovation is dead, being simple and basic is the new innovation then still charging you more than normal is also innovation. This is why I aint bought a console or triple A game in years.
Since xbox is never coming back to its former glory. I don't blame Microsoft for going third party. As exclusives don't bring them anymore money. If they made exclusives no one would play them anyways since the only games people care about nowadays are the fortnites, roblox, Minecraft, and call of duty.
And the gaming industry will get worse as a whole. look at what Sony is doing now with a lack of competition. Imagine when Xbox drops out of making consoles
when onlive was available that felt like the most amazing gaming milestone. xbox is not done, i think this is a step in the right direction. cloud gaming is here to stay
How do you not understand the concept? They want you in the ecosystem, as long as you're paying for gamepass it doesnt matter what device you have. You're blinded by an old way of thinking, yes I can play this on my xbox but if im not home, I can play through a mission or 2 at work and pick up where I left off when I get home. How do you not like more options?
you would think by now they would know what the people want, and its not streaming. They were getting better by ditching the connect and giving us the Xbox one-x but, now they are going full circle to an idea no one wants. They could literally remaster halo 2 by itself (without MCC trash), support it on xbox-live and boom. Glad i went PS5 this time around.
As Xbox Veteren like way back to Original to 360 to one and now to the Series X/S. It's sad to me that Xbox will become a third party games and now will focus on PC and more instead on his console. Glad I got a PC at this year.
Maybe the word Xbox was never really going to be just a console. Sound like they are going in a direction how Fortnite did. It wasn't just a game about building it offers even more. Also my other take is that they might continue to make consoles, but it'll be under a completely different kind of console
The perception of their console sure looks dead. It looks like they’re turning Xbox into a video game operating system of sorts on multiple devices ( including their own) like Windows on computers.
This is literally what they’ve said for years. Expanding their ecosystem to over devices like PC and mobile. That don’t mean everything is coming to PlayStation, in fact there was no PlayStation in the ad they made. Y’all just dragging it

its sad, how nintendo and sony have been going hard since 85 and the 90's respectfully and microsoft couldn't even handle 30 years before they chickened out, it was good while it lasted though I guess, the 360 will always be the best console of it's era, rivaled closely by the Wii with the PS3's only saving grace being it was easy to mod. Maybe some other company will come in, or who the hell knows, maybe SEGA will dig themselves out of their own grave and come shambling back into the console business.
They will keep releasing consoles because even if you can play stuff on your phone tablet or laptop then the quality will certainly be compromised. Or at least you would have thought. Surely the actual console will be loaded with the tech that can push the frame rates and performances to their highest level. The only thing that would expect not to have these compromises should be a gaming PC. Also this is an all digital environment they are planning with this eco system. There will be benefits for gamers though because they will be able to continue their games on the go wherever and whenever they choose. For those of us who want physical to continue and an element of exclusivity for buying into the brand by getting the consoles as they come out it looks like a troubling step in a direction we don't want things to go. On the other hand this has been talked about for years and is a logical step when thinking in terms of innovation and progression. The idea of not needing an XBOX because you can play your games on a Playstation 4 or 5 might be a bit of a step but that is only for now though. This could definitely come through in the future. Also I think a likely thing to happen is that Playstation will soon follow suit and allow their platform to diversify in the exact same way. For younger gamers who have no interest in physical or keeping Physical going this is a win, win situation. None of this is worth losing sleep over though. I am certain physical and backwards compatibility will continue but it is likely to become more niche as time goes by.
xbox is clearly getting out of the hardware business, only a fanboy that is coping doesn't see it lol. there is no reason to buy one, everything is on pc and they even putting games on ps5.
So it's officially done because you say so? Not to mention Sony is literally doing the same thing MLB on Xbox, Lego Horizon on Switch the full slate of PS5 exclusives being on PC
Xbox not done but their consoles are.

This isn't even a problem. This is a solid feature.
No they're not. Massive ecosystem that continues to grow, more users than Playstation, making a powerful next gen console while offering everyone many places to play like PC app, mobile, Firesticks, Cloud etc. All your saves just work too, across all devices.
Since when is more options a bad thing? So if they stuck to one plastic box it would be better? Xbox makes more money for Microsoft than Windows does now. I think they're ahead of the game and playing the long game. You will see. Xbox is in it's best position than ever before.

Yeah except when the Wi-Fi goes out.
They want only to advertise cloud gaming because the console's sales are very bad for them
Honestly this is probably the worst marketing I've seen from Xbox and PlayStation.
LOL.
My actual xbox is pissed that other devices are having an identity crisis...it has problems too 😂
I'm a Playstation gamer since PS1, but I always acknowledged Xbox as it's parallel competitor. But seeing this transition by Microsoft tells me this is the beginning of the evolution of gaming, gradually moving away from hardware and disc to eventually all digital and streaming
Won't happen , we have competitive gaming and your always gonna be introducing some level of lag when streaming it's not like Netflix where they just streaming a video file and personally I think it's all backwards , why would I want to stream when I have a console I don't need my quality dipping because someone decides to watch a TH-cam video ya know
@weplayvrgames true that agreed. I just hope disc games won't fully go away
basically microsoft is trying to copy what all our parents did growing up calling everything nintendo
makes me think of my mom when she would be saying "oh that's a Nintendo" me casually playing Sly Cooper on my PS2
I only made it to 2:51 because I couldn’t hear him rant anymore about the name of the console
Real
Xbox has been done for me since 360 ended. I don't play much, and I don't buy games anymore, not like I used to. I use my One X for mainly streaming Hulu, Netflix, and watch dvd's. I got tired of micro transactions in games. Besides, I feel like the best games came out on 360 than the Xbox Series X/S and One/X. Xbox 360 was the best era in gaming.
I think you're over thinking it
They need a picture of a beater car in their campaign so they can say “it’s a shitbox” 😝

@@MrAdam802 xbox is getting out of the console business, cope.

What’s crazy is the series x is actually good love the features compared to my PS5 but damn they can’t manage the brand and toss away exclusivity
Microsoft don’t care where or how you play the games on there platform… JUST PLAY THEM!!! 🤨
My target has already got rid of all the xbox games, all they have is the prepaid and controller and that's it 😊
Since xbox is never coming back to its former glory. I don't blame Microsoft for going third party. As exclusives don't bring them anymore money. If they made exclusives no one would play them anyways since the only games people care about nowadays are the fortnites, roblox, Minecraft, and call of duty.
Maybe its Microsofts way of saying they're doing a Sega and are leaving the hardware market and are just developing software from now on!?!
Series x owners funded the Activision deal 🤝
I think Microsoft just wants to become a multiplatform publisher without unnecessary panic among fans and they are carefully trying to do it
If xbox isn't done and it keeps going I will find you ⚔️ I take this very seriously

Oh no the company isn't being anti consumer anymore
"Everyone is a woman."
-Microsoft, probably
Maybe the word Xbox was never really going to be just a console. Sound like they are going in a direction how Fortnite did. It wasn't just a game about building it offers even more.
Also my other take is that they might continue to make consoles, but it'll be under a completely different kind of console
Make games play natively on your phone thats all we need
The perception of their console sure looks dead. It looks like they’re turning Xbox into a video game operating system of sorts on multiple devices ( including their own) like Windows on computers.
This is literally what they’ve said for years. Expanding their ecosystem to over devices like PC and mobile. That don’t mean everything is coming to PlayStation, in fact there was no PlayStation in the ad they made. Y’all just dragging it
Microsoft is treating Xbox just like Windows and will put it on everything.
The amount of times I've heard and read "Xbox" today is ungodly, probably more than in my entire life. And the worst is that it's not for good.
Nah they said they making the bigest leap in console history

This is coming from the company that makes both windows and xbox. They dont need to make money on xbox just the service of xbox. Why settle for 50million users on xbox when we can have potentially 4 billion+ users from every electronic device
Im going to keep buying a Xbox because its more seamless then the other devices that you can play on.

Phill Spencer is doing what is smart Consoles are a dying business hence why Sony is putting games on PC as well it's not sustainable
@@ITZCHELSEA2244 Entirely false. Maybe some other company will come in, or who the hell knows, maybe SEGA will dig themselves out of their own grave and come shambling back into the console business.

The video ad doesn't even include the Series S.
