I kinda like how the show shows so many other students. It’s not like regular shows where you’re always focused on the main cast. It actually feels like a school .
Depends on what show. If you want a show to be narratively focus then giving time to develop main cast makes more sense. Komi-san's case works well cause it's a slice of life. Giving spotlight to side characters help keeping it fresh.
One thing that bugs me about series like this is that characters don't exist until they're formally introduced. You'll never see them in the background until "thier" episode and then it's like they were always there to begin win. I get that you don't want to bombard readers/viewers with dozens of new characters, but it's just wierd.

There is actually one rlly powerful scene later on in the series where she does shout at another character in frustration and confusion. It was like the first time she had a full lengthy conversation without using her notebook or having any anxiety. She’s actually pretty scary when she’s serious

Honestly I'd argue it makes sense, Komi's communication disorder goes well beyond chronic mutism she struggles with communication on a fundamental level. Considering that, I'm not surprised she would sound scary when she's super frustrated, as she would simply be acting on emotion without any form of consideration for the other person as she just isn't aware of how she should approach her. It's probably one of my favorite moments in the manga so far (I'm only up to like chapter 260 out of 300+), shame that moments like this are drowned in the literal sea of characters the manga keeps introducing. I'm of the opinion that the writer should focus more on Komi's struggle with communication rather than pushing the 100 friends she wants to make, that one's pretty much a surface level motivation that only serves to pad the story with characters of varying quality.
In other words, Komi-san was too OP and had to be nerfed. lol 🤣🤣 Though, this does remind me about s1, I think, when Yamai confesses to Komi and she gets a blank response. I always felt that what Komi was _really_ thinking was along the lines of, "B****, you locked up my boyfriend in your closet; you're lucky I don't smack you across the school!"
@@BlaZe_AMV yea she rarely gets spotlight. A lot of the characters from the first season with the exception of Najimi, Tadano and Komi lose their screen time as the manga progresses. You'll see them from time to time, but not often. Ren Is the only who gets more screen time than the others
