- Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, the brilliant founder of Biocon and a true trailblazer in the biotech industry. We talked for two hours straight, diving into her 40-year journey in biotech and her life beyond business.
In my eyes she is testament to woman entrepreneur in India, no one else comes close.
Kiran is not just an inspiration to me professionally, but also a dear friend and neighbour. Our bond has grown over the years and I can't help but look up to her in so many ways. Her passion for transforming healthcare and giving back to society is incredible. It's a story that can't be missed, told in a more candid manner than ever before.

Nikhil Kamath teaches us that you should not hesitate when you're asking question.
So true
It's easier if the person is your friend and you arrange whole thing.. so it's easier said then done
@@coolcab05 asking question is not the tough part, but to get an answer it is. Just do your part be curious, and let it flow or not (which is not in your control). Ask it, just do it.
I thought she was younger. Looking at how passionate she is about her work and is still so driven even at 70. Must take great courage to be who she is. Thank you for the show ❤
She is 70!😮
I thought she is 60 or something
Finally a high-quality Indian podcast!! There is a massive gap in the Indian podcast space, and I hope this one bridges that gap as Nikhil has the connections & finances to put out valuable content. Thank you.
Love these podcasts
Spot on. I share the exact same view. Loved this episode.
well said man, spot on observation.
Our country produces many incredible entrepreneurs, but it doesn't often produce pioneers who develop technology that transcends globally.
A very powerful moment is when she says she went to Ireland, 'not because I didn't understand the technology, but to see how it works.' We need a series on Kiran's life that could inspire a new generation of biotech engineers and entrepreneurs.
I initially thought it would be slightly boring going just by the no of guests. But what an episode and what a woman !
Very inspiring and thoughtful. Cheers for creating this !!!
same , thought it would be a bit boring , but there are so many things to grasp that one might need to rewatch
What an episode! Bringing someone like Kiran to spend 2 hours talking about her workz her motivations, how she build her company while life went on. This was 2 hours of sheer brilliance. Thank you Nikhil and thank you Kiran maam. ❤

Nikhil you need to make babies.. you have to make sure the world does not miss out of good people and quality thoughts even after your gone ❤
Absolutely cherished this episode! ✨ Every-time she speaks about her late husband or late mother, you can see the sparkle of love and warmth for them in her eyes. ❤️
Nikhil - you are one of such rare people that I have seen to have the profoundness of depth at such young age on life as a whole. You are for sure an old soul! God bless you always ! Not to forget what a pleasure it has been to hear the inspiring stories of Kiran ! Love and respect to both of you ❤❤
Thanks Nikhil for this !! Listening to such an evolved leader is such a joy!! ❤❤
Surprised this video hasn't blown up. There is so much wisdom and info to kickstart research here. Biotech has incredible potential for the future and it is literally Life Saving.
Not opting for ad sense shows how serious you are.
Thank you, Nikhil. This episode alone is a service to the nation. Absolutely love your podcasts.
Man with the level of content that nikhil is producing it feels really bad to watch it for free anymore.
😂 Spot on.
Please don't do this to people like us who can't afford to pay for such valuable knowledge
He doesn't want our peanut money 😂
He seems like a genuine humane who has done all and been there. He now wants to help others to fulfill their dreams.❤
Not everything is valued on monetary grounds. There is much more valuable, knowledge (if not then we wouldn't have been educated by our teachers). Learn and be thankful.
I am doing btech in biotechnology and this video has helped me a lot in knowing more about how we can be an entrepreneur in fields such as biotech... I have always loved biocon and wanted to know more about it and how it started... Kiran Mazumdar has always inspired me and this video has given me a strong base for my inspiration towards biotech..thank you
Unbelievable! What the team did towards the end is something we'd never have been able to fathom. Both of you are legends, and Ms. Shaw is a personified legend. Salute to the spirit of empowering the country. Best wishes.
I was oblivious to a woman of this caliber existing living and breathing today, in the same world as me. I am seeing new heights of intelligence and success through her. Great episode!
This by far was one of the best interactions. Kieran was just astounding but nikhil was at his best on his curiosity. One on one.
Conversations like this gives us hope for a better, brighter India.. thanks Nikhil ! Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw ma’am has always been and will be an inspiration😊
She is the First Lady/ women entrepreneur who was my inspiration even when in all honesty I did not understand what career is and what I would like to do! But today listening to her, I feel truly inspired by the well rounded person she is. Her approach is so balanced!

Kiran Ma'am is a true inspiration a gem in real sense. This is a real podcast by definition should be not bluffing around throwing nonsense pretending something else which is seen by other people and podcasts channel.
Something worthy on podcast path.
Kudos to team members 👏
Amazing.. thank you for bringing Kiran maam.. never heard such conversation of her anywhere else
Being surrounded by such amazing people as friends and mentors must be amazing! Hope to create such a circle for myself one day
What a gem of an interview this is. I have learnt so much from this. Kiran ma'am is such an inspiration 👏🏽👏🏽
Excellent show Nikhil. Absolutely love the way you structure the questions and the flow of the podcast. It is admirable the way you get the speakers to explain any nuanced technical words they use during the talk.

Handsome, wealthy, knowledgeable, and calm. All these adjectives go perfectly well with Nikhil.
Now that was a banger 🎉🎉🎉 episode. Doing masters myself in biotechnology in Australia I got so much insight and guidance for my career ahead. Thank you so much for doing this, it means a lot ❤
As a biology student can I do biotechnology??
One of the best aspects of these sessions is the space that Nikhil provides to the speakers; and helps guide the conversation with guided questions. Really enjoy these sessions. Thank you
What an episode !! Her thought about having a baby even she doesn’t have one was so selfless and insightful and the last part , philosophy about life, absolutely spot on. No doubt she is a successful woman. Thanks nikhil and kiran for such overwhelming episode .
Love the elegance with which you talk to your guests .. again can’t thank you enough for interviewing my childhood role model 🥰.. great lessons shared by ma’m for young founders to be aware of failures and prepared and what to avoid . Gives us women strength to believe in ourselves after knowing someone like ma’m struggled to establish herself !! Very inspiring
Thank you for motivating us..... Thank you for giving us the opportunity to learn 🙏🙏
If you're reading this, and haven't liked or subscribed yet, this is your cue
1:57:54 - there's a great angle to this with the panelists giving back to society.
Propel this vision further, it takes 3-4 seconds of your time. :)
Thank you Nikhil for starting this initiative of Philontraphy and inviting people to be part of this great cause. I am sure there are many who want to contribute and make a difference but are not sure if it would be channeled to the right cause. We need crediable voices like you, who people can trust to take it forward🙏
I could only wish for this conversation to happen sooner than latter. Thanks Nikhil for hosting Kiran and sharing this conversation with public.
I would like to vote this charity for helping people get healthcare that they badly need but can't afford. I recently personally experienced an impressive affordable but qualitative healthcare solution in Gurgaon, called CanWinn Arogya Dham. I wish there are more such unique initiatives.
Yess!! Finally its live,, thanks nikhil
I admire Kiran & Biocon a lot. Biocon is next level but I don't know why it doesn't reflect in it's stocks. I am still holding it even though I am in loss.
I don’t remember the last time I saw suchh an engaging podcast. It’s 3 in the night here and I couldn’t just stop and put my phone down because this felt soo refreshing. I learnt soo many new things, I am reminded of soo many things and this is what Bangalore has been all about, for people who are really passionate and hardworking and be who they are without any virtue signaling. Thank you sir for creating this.
True
I admire you both and it was amazing watching two brilliant brains and hearts having an insightful conversation! The concept of giving back to the society through this route is very refreshing! Thank you!!! Looking forward to having Ma'am back on the podcast! There's so much to learn! ❤

Truly one of the best interviews I’ve watched
Her story is brilliant!! Thanks Nikhil for bringing her in !
Thanks for this fantastic session with Kiran ji. We appreciate if you could have Mr. Ravi Venkatesan (Ex- Mircosoft chairman) on your show sir. I think he as a person+ his works fits in well with your vision /purpose with you started this channel.
I'm at lack of words.... Just lovely... Felt like I am looking my 50 year old self.
This woman is truly admirable.
Thank you #NikhilKamath for inviting Kiran Mazumdar to your show. I hope to see more women entrepreneurs on your show. As for a noble cause to donate funds, I think we should consider any NGO that works for caring/improving the lives of animals.
Thankyou so much Nikhil for doing this 🫶🏽

This is one of the best podcasts in India which I have seen. Specially an interview like this with the Kiran M Shaw is amazing ! Throws much light on biocon, biotech industry and what should be expected in near future. Loved it !
Pure gold content, better than any netflix show. Kudos to Nikhil bringing such a informative content. 👏
Amazing ! Watching it now...
thanks kiran & nikhil for this amazing conversation, i loved it. Following things i learned in this conversation are: 1. Good things takes time for eg: it takes 26 years to make this company a billion dollar worth. 2. make your carrier in the area which you passionate about the it'll be great chances to do something big for eg: kiran mam and nikhil bhaiya make their carrier in the which they like or passionate about( ) .
