    Torres was already in some kind of decline before he joined chelsea the birmingham game stands out the reason why most of us blues fans loved torres was that he always tried, never hid away & showed his frustration & disappointment when he felt he missed good chances to score or felt let down by his performances but he did score vital goals for us yes we would've loved the torres that we first saw when he first joined liverpool but you can't always get what you want

    I’m an armchair Chelsea fan so maybe a bit biased, but I can’t help but feel John Terry gets a bit of a hard time from the eyes of the public, he seems to be a really hated figure but every time I’ve heard him speak he comes across as a really nice guy with great banter! I get that he’s made some mistakes in his life but who hasn’t!

    • @kaiwei1111

      Great player, great captain, immense defender and put everything on the line for his team. Footballing-wise, hard to hate him but what he has done in his private life is foul. The mistake he has made I'm sure others have made before but just because he's a great footballer doesn't mean it can be shoved aside! Much like what Giggs has done, it'll always be associated with him. Maradona and Ronaldinho, possibly a couple of the best players of all time and their names have been sullied too. It's just too inseparable.

We had the same happen at the club I support and if the allegation was true, I think the guilty party is a total c*nt for doing it, even though he was one of the best players I saw live, still makes him a c*nt :)

    At 8:00 is one of the better questions that has been asked in any of these conversations. As a United fan who saw him winning the UEFA Cup and then the Champs League with in all honesty a pretty average Porto side, seeing the success at Chelsea, and then winning the Champs League with Inter I was happy we hired him. However, for what ever reason "that" Jose had changed and in his place was someone who didn't seem to really enjoy what he was doing. Someone who came out and publicly criticized players, who it seems never had the full support of the dressing room. It is mind boggling that this keeps occuring in his career post his second stint at Chelsea considering how he was able to achieve 2 Champions League victories by getting the absolute best out of lesser players earlier on.

    • @justlooking1087
      @justlooking1087 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think any team Jose manages has to have a very strong spine consisting of huge characters (not necessarily stars but characters). Without that, I think teams that he manages crumble under his intensity and the amount of pressure he puts on them - which causes them to rebel eventually.
      On top of that, certain teams are just too good to park the bus against nowadays. Especially if you don’t have a Terry, Carvalho or Cole in your back line.

    Terry seems to talk a lot to his hierarchy.
    “I said to Jose” “I said to Roman” “I said to the FA”
    Jamie said at Liverpool we didn’t talk to the boss like that. We did what we was told. And realistically they weren’t all that successful week in week out back then.
    Chelsea had massive success. But also massive failure after their success with Mourinho and it seems like their team was run by committee. when the manager couldn’t be overrrawed it was great a dresssing room full of leaders, when the manager was overrun by these leaders, it just lead to failure.
    The best teams (Chelsea dominance era, Manu dominance era, now Liverpool dominance era) it seems are run like this but you need a manager who can handle and encourage big leaders in the dressing room. Later in Wenger’s career it seemed like he wanted no leaders except himself which funnily enough coincided with Arsenal’s downfall.

    • @thatguyaga1n
      @thatguyaga1n 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sunny boy
      A strong manager who is willing and able to handle strong leaders are good ingredients for a club to become dominant for a while. (Eg. Utd under Fergie with Keane, Ince, Bruce, Schmeichel etc. Eg. Chelsea under Mourinho for first two seasons with Drog, JT, Makalele, Lamps etc. Eg. The first team Wenger assembled at Arsenal with Viera, petit, the back 4, Wrighty etc before AW got obsessed with youth and finances. Eg the current Liverpool squad).
      Without the strong manager the leaders clash with each other and the weak manager and the club underperforms (eg. Chelsea post-Mourinho).
      Without the strong dressing room leaders you get mentally weak teams who choke. (Eg. Arsenal’s middle to late evolution under Wenger & maybe now Pep’s City ?? ).

      @mamourwane4264 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@thatguyaga1n totally right, we had like 5 or 6 national team captain in the dressing room real leaders. Now at Chelsea we might have almost the same level of talent as usual but way weaker mentally no vocal leader. I guess we need some of that again
