I grew up in Wisconsin and dont miss it accept for the selection of cheese. 🧀😅 This is great place to sail and garden all year.
Expat Country Boy from Durand, Wisconsin who left at the age of 19 (1986) and retired here in Dec 2023 with my Filipina Wife (of 32 years) after living most overseas for over 30 years.
I'm an RN and make decent money but a CRNA is banking. I plan on retiring at age 53 in Cebu. My wife and I have purchased a condo and intend to live on $3,000 a month. I believe that with the condo paid off, $3,000 a month should suffice for a reasonably comfortable lifestyle.
I’m 60 and my wife 54 we are both retired with over $3 million in net worth and no debts. Currently living smart and frugal with our money. Saving and investing lifestyle in the stock market made it possible for us this early even till now we earn weekly.
There are many independent advisors to choose from. But I work with Laura Grace Abels and we've been working together for almost four years and she's fantastic. You could check her if she meets your requirements.
Hey fellow cheesehead 😊 last time I was in Lapu Lapu I found cheese from Green Bay, not cheap but good cheddar. I'm from about 1 hour north of Durand son was born in Rice Lake 2.5 years ago. We are moving to Bukidnon in January.
Could you inquire with Bruce about his method of collecting Social Security each month? Did he maintain his U.S. bank account for direct deposit of his Social Security benefits, or did he open a Philippine bank account for direct deposit in the Philippines? I'm considering relocating to the Philippines but am unsure of the process. As a Filipino American who has lived in the U.S. for 45 years, I recently reclaimed my dual citizenship two years ago. Can you discuss private health insurance in the Philippines? Currently, I'm covered by Medicare, which I understand doesn't extend outside the U.S., so I would need health insurance if I decide to move back to the Philippines. It would be helpful if you could arrange for a guest speaker from a private health insurance company to explain the costs and coverage of their policies. Thank you, a subscriber from California.
Great story. I pay $1100.00 USA for a single 30sq unit in Ayala. But maybe used to living in Makati that I would find it hard to go next door to BGC. But for a 2 bedroom, maybe time to move. Still hard to find any place to rent for only 3 months. Everyone wants 6 months minimum. But I do require two things from full furnished units 1: split level air con 2. Washer and dryer ( no dryer is ok) The rest should be a given
i originally was going to move to bgc (stayed there for 1month) and me the wife and the baby. We were just doing SEA tour staying in each country for 2-3 weeks for about 3-4 months. On my very first day in Bangkok i fell in love with the city and the people. You think Filipinos are nice? (My wife is Filipino) Thailand was waaaaaaaaay nicer and even cheaper than BGC. in BGC my monthly expenses were about $4000 a month with eating out every meal, rent etc. In bangkok is about $2500-3000. Also BGC is way too small but Bangkok is huge with BTS (Bangkoks skytrain) that is very easy to navigate.
@@MrWackydoodles i mean yeah they dont speak English as well as in the philipines but the younger generation still speaks english, also you can use transaltor. I work remote anyways i dont need to talk to Thai people that much lol But yeah if English speaking is your main concern
Many expats say BGC is like a big city in the States, I’ve been to many large cities in the States from the west to the east, and no city in the States come close to what BGC offers. Can anyone name one?
Savy expat, I am from Seychelles Island which is a small Island state in the Indian Ocean. I live on a small island with practically no such amenities and conveniences like any big city like in the Philippines. I have been following you for a while plus other service providers like you from the Philippines. I have my own businesses in renewable energy, waste treatment and agricultur. I am 54 years and traveled a lot around the and south east Asia too but never to the Philippines. I am deciding to move abroad because of my health. I choose the Philippines BGC or Makati because I need to ne close to a well reputable hospital,My mobility situation is really bad that I need to do hip and knee replacement. I will do it in my country because it is free. But I am coming to the Philippines for my recovery and rehab, so that is why I may need your service. I will be in touch with you the moment I am ready, I followed you and I know mostly the documents I need to gather here for my SRRV visa
80 sq meters is huge compared to most of the condos you see on Thailand videos......... can one assume 40 sq meter apartments are available for $500/mo?
If BGC, the standard for 40 sq. condo (furnished) is P40k/ month, but if you’re lucky, you might be able to get one for P35k. I do have a condo in BGC and the lowest I can go is P30K which is still higher than $500.
I love the grounded reality of this channel!! Retirement took a toll on my finances, but I am so excited without relying on the government my involvement in the digital market, $37,000 weekly returns has been life changing. AWESOME GOD❤️
Giving her my initial savings of $15,000 to invest in a brokerage account was a turning point in my life less 7days. It's been an incredibly rewarding experience.
They dress alike, built the same without muscle mass and he did say they are in a RELATIONSHIP! He is nervous interviewing his boyfriend by how much he sips his cup of coffee!
Fellow cheesehead here from near Madison! Haven't lived in WI for years, but try to visit family there each year. "I'm sick of snow and cold for 6 months of the year" I can relate to this! Lol...Have been doing seasonal work around the US, and teaching English overseas the past bunch of years. Look forward to spending some time in Philippines early next year. Finally found a decent remote job and hope to keep doing that while traveling around SE Asia early next year, and documenting on my new channel. If anyone is interested, please feel free to check out and keep in touch there. We'll share ideas and info. Enjoyed the video!
Lately, I've been contemplating retirement, uncertain whether my 401(k) and IRA will ensure a secure future. I've also invested $800K in the stock market, experiencing fluctuations without substantial gains.
Using a 401(k) or IRA is a valuable strategy for retirement planning, providing potential savings growth and tax advantages. While the stock market is promising, expert guidance is essential for effective portfOlio management
Opting for an invest-ment advisr is currently the optimal approach for navigating the stock market, particularly for those nearing retirement. I've been consulting with a coach for a while, and my portfOlio has surged by 45% since Q2.
I’m with Jessica Lee Horst, a highly respected figure in her field. I suggest delving deeper into her credentials, as she possesses extensive experience and serves as a valuable resource for individuals seeking guidance in navigating the financial market.
Somewhat useful content, but BGC is an American-like oasis. It does not represent the Philippines for the exception it's within Manila. Odd to have the interviewer sipping from a cup and staring off into the distance. Look at your guest and interact with them! Silly!!

He should also check out Iloilo city. Less traffic and a lot of dining options. Much cheaper too
I was about to say, Iloilo is excellent and much nicer I feel as it’s not so congested. Rent doable and white beaches on guimaras close by.
Welcome and enjoy the Philippines .. take care and be safe

BGC? The name sucks. I personally don't say BGC. I always say “The Fort” AKA Fort Bonifacio.
