hi, some bursae are formed by folds of the synovial membrane of the joint capsule - these bursae that are linked to the articular cavity are called communicating bursae because they "communicate" with the joint cavity. There are other bursae which don't communicate with the joint cavity, and are therefore "non-communicating". There are lots of bursae in the knee, and I haven't covered them all in this tutorial! Sorry - I should have made this clearer, but I hope this has helped!
This channel helps me so much in doing my Level 4 in Sports Therapy. With the locations and names of bony landmarks ,muscles, muscle actions and other soft tissue structures. I will still use this channel when I study for a degree in the future and refer this channel as a excellent revision tool to anyone. Great diagrams, very professional, excellent knowledge. Thank you Mr. Anatomy Zone!
wooow i spent hours and hours on books and lectures trying to figure out anatomy , and here u are explaining it smoothly , such a lifesaver thank you very much ,wish u all the best in ur life .
Collateral ligaments stop the femur from sliding medially or laterally to cause dislocation. If you didn't have them, you would be pretty much relying on the curvature of the tibia and the two cruciate ligaments in the middle of the tibia to balance the femur on top of it.
... and of course the cruciatus curse (sorry, i couldn't resist. i don't know what i would do without your videos! no, actually i do: i would fail anatomy. so thank you!)
Body performance, osteo's relate the patella tibial ligament as Tendon as technically the tendon is continuous with common quadriceps tendon therefore does not have to be identified as a ligament attaching bone to bone. I think it just depends who teaches you but both are correct.
4:20 So you corrected your "voice" with the text? Because it sounds like you mean the whole thing is the tendon of the quadriceps femoris, but it's not, right? So the QF tendon will attach to the base of Patella, and the patella ligament will attach to the Apex?
great vid thanks. but please whats the relationship of the MCL with the Pes Anserinus in relation to joint stability to the knee ? I know they are interconnected, and help with valgus stability but is there anything else? just wondering for an essay thanks!
ACL attaches to medial wall of the lateral femoral condyle proximally, and PCL attaches to lateral wall of the medial femoral condyle proximally. See Tortora. In the clip, there are 2 mistakes about this. Otherwise very good tutorial.
My lateral ligament area upto the fibula head is very painful. I cannot bend my knees nor stretch it. It's very painful. What do you suggest me to do sir.
If knee joint has injury like 1. Diffuse T2 hyperintensity within anterior cruciate ligaments with partially maintained continuity of fibres s/ O partial tear. Posterior cruciate ligs are normal. 2 complex grade III tear of the posterior horn of medial meniscus having horizontal and vertical component seen teaching the interior articular surface. The anterior horn of medial meniscus is normal. Lateral meniscus is normal. 3. Mild to moderate synovial effusion is seen. Rest of are normal. Doctor has told to operate the knee joint to fix the issue. Please tell me whether any other treatment or solution.... Pls do rply... Thanks in advance...
Cheers for the video content! Forgive me for the intrusion, I am interested in your opinion. Have you tried - Dinanlinson Rocky Position Approach (google it)? It is a smashing one off guide for learning how to fix chronic knee pain without the hard work. Ive heard some great things about it and my friend after a lifetime of fighting got great results with it.

Best video of patella ligaments! Thank you very much
Cruciate ligaments are intracapsular and extra synovial....
00:12 Collateral Ligament
01:52 Cruciate Ligament
04:09 Ligamentum Patellae
Without parallel! Excellent tutorial for an interested layman like me.

Explained in simple n clear ways
Best anat videos ever!
Great video, many thanks !
These were wonderful, thanks for posting!
So amazing
Thanks 😊
Thank u so much Sir...It really helped a lot...
Epiphysis is just the two ends of a bone, the part in the middle which connects the two is the Diaphysis, this is where red blood cells are made.
Be yourself and you will always be in fashion.
this is best video analysis for knee.thank you very much.
Very informative, helpful and simple... Thank you for saving our lives! :)
you are the best man !

Caren Nelson Thx!
Can I ask if the cruciate ligaments are extra-synovial? If so, are they outside the 'true' joint?
Thank you very much.
Simply Impressionant!!!! Thank You....I Will go with you....
I wish he'd show the synovial membrane properly. I can't get an idea of it

very informative thanks! what sort of software did you use to create your models?
This is amazing... thanks a lot

R u a doctor now
Excellent ! Keep up the great work
V nicely expained 🌴 🙏🎧
very wonderful
The patellar tendon looks like it juts to the right on both legs. Is that normal? I thought it was supposed to go straight down?
really good! thanks

definitely worth it.

what is the function of the collateral ligaments?
THANKYOU SO MUCHHHH
hey can u tell me where are tibial epiphysis and femural epiphysis..

رائع شكراا اللك 😘😘
excuse me: what is the relationship between bursa and synovial membrane? I still cannot understand~~plz help=)
bursa produces synovial fluid
Thanks tons ...... 😊😊😊😊😊
Athelstan is that you?? :)
patella ligament = patella tendon?
It is the same.
Technically it should be Patellar Ligament because if you remember tendons attach muscle to bone and ligaments attach bone to bone.
It is the patella ligament because it is patella to tibia not patella to muscle.
Ligament, Patella is a bone not A muscle
ligamentum patellae
lt orgin from patella
I have two of those
