In nursing it’s the unspoken law. Never claim anything you can’t back up. Especially assurances. At best, you can educate the patients on what may happen (side effects, reactions, etc.) as well as meds or conditions that may affect another treatment and so on.

@Hexor_Tyr , no, chronic is the term Smitty wanted. The phrase "stuff always goes south right in front of the doctor" refers to a problem chronically ill patients have. Since their symptoms are intermittent, they're not always conveniently present when the doctor is examining the patient. While doctors frequently hear from patients who have symptoms that disappear between the time the appointment's made and the time it occurs, only the chronically ill ones have the symptoms inconveniently return after the examination. Smitty never referred to the severity of the symptoms; that was your inference only.

Turns out that worthless Cameron actually ruffied the dude so he would stay and get treated and thus he missed his game which led to him losing life time of opportunity. Not to forget house clearly pointing out in a sarcastic manner that the guy will be flipping burgers for rest of his life but he will live. Man I hated Cameron so much after this episode.

I had laparoscopic gallbladder surgery, and I coldn't even move comfortably on the second day 😅 Leaned too much on the handle of a shopping cart almost a week later and couldn't breathe it hurt so bad.

I had laparoscopic surgery for my appendix. If getting your spleen removed is anything like that, there is zero chance I'd be playing a full contact sport 3 days later. One hit to the wrong spot and you can completely rip open your incision.

@@Tfichtenbaum Only compared to not doing it with a giant open cut. You still have to cut through the muscle and cut attachments and things. Even the anesthetic leaves many people odd for a few days or longer.
Not being able to lift anything is for the stiches, your gut lining has to hold in your organs and is under pressure, many guys get a hernia just from lifting things. Well surgery does the same thing and holds it together with some stitching in the hopes it grows closed. It's not going to be able to hold the tissue if you start doing crazy things too fast.
