If you're still looking for advice on how to fix broken parts, I highly recommend loctite super glue (the gel control version). It's often used for assembling miniatures and comes out of the bottle one drop at a time. It makes it easier to keep the glue from bubbling over onto your parts.
That or carefully use a toothpick to spread the glue *_after_* you do a fit check to figure out how the broken parts mate best together. This is because I use a more liquidy "rubber welding" super glue for better bonds on plastic parts.
I accidentally broke the bottle on my Miku figure she was holding on the day I GOT her. I had to get mum to glue it on and she was most likely disappointed in me.
For some strange reason it doesn’t really bother me too much if my figures are a little scuffed or missing small pieces (saves me money I’ll be honest as I am happy to buy preowned slightly worn/damaged figures) so I can only imagine how heart breaking it is to damage a figure when u really care about condition, so my condolences to all those poor figures in your collection who met unforeseen injures

I totally understand, I have an Albedo from Furyu and the top hair piece had already broken when I received it. I have glued it back on and you can' t even tell but I know its broke and I will never forget, that kind of thing just stays with a person.
A Nezuko figure I had got came with the mouthpiece broken and I had to do a little surgery what really was annoying was that the mouthpiece had a prong they had no hole to put into so I had to make the hole. And then I had to glue it to the face actually came out really well.
ahhh thats so sad to hear about your broken figures! im glad you were able to get a replacement. With the Azusa, it might be benefital to purchase something like ZAP glue. Its used for mini painting, you don't need a lot of it, its really strong and dries really quick. I broke a Hatsune miku figure and was able to patch her up with that glue. Hope that helps!
Got into collecting about a month ago. I dropped my first figure. I nearly got a heartattack. Luckily she sustained no damage. If that happens with my more expensive figures...no point in living anymore😂
Similar thing happened to me, two figures got dropped, the megahouse one had his arm fall off, but the alter one landed on his head on my carpet and was just fine
I can totally appreciate this video. My biggest mistake was having figures on display under florescent lighting.....beware it bleaches them over time 😭😭😭
I had a sad coincidental event where my sister's kids were by the same day I noticed a character had broken. I'd like to believe they didn't break it, but you never know with kids. It was just the peg that connects the figure to the base, so I mostly just have to glue it together (and then never be able to dismantle it again).
Apart from that I think I've only broken the head connection once on an old figure that used the unsuitable round peg solution to keep the head in place. Haven't seen them for years now so I assume they were just bad choices and the new straight pegs to connect heads are much better.
i dont really collect figures but i do build resin figure kits and have help people with repairs in the past. i know there aren't many figure builders out there but if you can find a modeler competent with an airbrush they may be able to repair it for you.
I have the jibril bunny figure and her transparent halo broke I was dusting all my bunny girls and I hit a light that sits over her and It fell and broke it cleanly off with the peg still in her head needless to say i cried........then i found some safe glue to use and fixed it but still sad
Gywn is one of those youtubers that you don't get bored! Its sad you broken some of your figs but broken figs aside im saying hi from the Philippines! 🇵🇭
Hi Gwyn, Just sell her as broken. There is more than likely someone out there that would do a custom or know how to repair it themselves with expert technique!!! Thank you for sharing!!!
The youtube notification actually worked this time finally ! And breaking figures is heart breaking dude :( haven't watched the video fully yet but I hope it weren't many that broke
Well I've seen the full video and I have to say that, accidents happen and it's fine, you can always replace it (even if it takes long) or end up fixing it (creative ways of fixing stuff normally are born this way lol) and the cowboy bebop one I think was a sign from another dimension telling you not to smoke 🤯
Hey I just wanted to say your videos have helped me a lot with getting into figure collecting. I got my first figure in the mail this week(1/7 Asuna from Ques q) and I used a lot of info I got from you. Keep up the great content!
Epoxy or glue usually works but it helps to have a friend who is a REALLY good model kit builder, i swear these people can get the right amount of glue to hold them together and yet not be noticeable. Even after that they can legit find the right shade of paint to cover it as well as use modeling putty to fill in any gaps.
One of my Jean nendoroid joints broke for the leg and I honestly feel like it was a quality control issue because it was so hard to put the leg in that the joint just broke from me pushing it in too hard I was sad but then glued it but now I can’t change her legs anymore so she’s forever stuck in that position
Advice on how to fix your broken lass: look up miniature pinning tutorials (you're looking for stuff on Warhammer/Warhammer40k) here on youtube. If it's fixable that'll be how you do it properly.
This made me feel so much better about my 1, albeit expensive break. While unpacking my grail of all grails good smile company 1/8th senjoughara one of the office supplies fell out and the piece holding it together snapped :(. Non-collectors can't tell but damn, every time I looked at it there's just pain,
9:00 you wanna talk about poorly balanced figure? I have the aniplex Ishtar... she would NOT stay on her seat (she's just meant to be put on the seat, no peg or whatever) on flat surface. I have to put stuff under the base so that the front is like 3mm off the "ground", creating a slight back tilt, in order for her to stay. It's amazing that she have yet to fall off... There are many complains and reports on MFC about it falling off, often breaking parts, usually her sword/arrow thing that she is holding (which, as it were, is actually part of the contributor to her balance, without it she will fall off more!)
i broke my asuka figure from alter whilst i was dusting my figures. i bumped her by accident with my elbow so she fell and her ENTIRE head broke right off. but at least i was able to fix her with super glue and you can't even tell that she was broken to begin with! :)
You're definitely not alone! I have also broken many figures, including the Cowboy Bebop one. (I snapped one of the glass shards off...) I can think of at least 7 instances off the top of my head. 😅 The first time it happened, I was extremely upset, but I've reached a point now where I'm just like, "Eh. sh*t happens. Time to grab the super glue." 😂
7 months...!? And you already have a collection thats 3x bigger than mine.. ive been collecting for 4 years which is sad...😭 I also know what you mean about knowing that your figure is broken.. my Another Little Mermaid figure by Myethos arrived with her hair broken.. you cant see the glue but i know its broken everytime i see it...
About 3 years ago, the display case (was not a Detolf) in which my figures were standing together crashed. Most of my 40 figures have broken down or have scratches since then. It was one of the worst days ever...
I completely get the pain of breaking a pristine figure, but I feel I'm one of the few who doesn't mind owning a broken figure. Probably due to all my grail figures being previously owned/damaged, but got for a steal of a price (both Fire Emblem scales, so I saved hundreds buying damaged). I'm just happy to own them and thoroughly enjoy fixing them up. But of course if I were to ever resell, I'd be completely truthful with past damage. Paint scuffs/scratches is my main annoyance, but a clean break that super glue or RapidFuse can fix and look good as new? No issue to me :) (Although, if I'M the one that breaks it, yeah I'd probably hate myself for weeks :'D)
@@GwynCollects Thank you so much! That's such high praise omg (*´ω`*) I'm only about a year into collecting, so breaking that stigma early has really helped my wallet haha!
@@GwynCollects Yeah because the figure is still a work of art in need of a good home! If it can be salvaged, it's such a waste to abandon it! I'm just so nervous to try and fix as something as precious to me as a figure! But they are *so* precious to me I just couldn't leave it broken. I would always try and give it another chance ; - ;
Do you happen to have any tips on fixing figs. I’ve had such a hard time reattaching the bow on my devil homura and ended up giving up as it wouldn’t attach
@@joeycohen7533 Hi! I’m by no means an expert, but in my experience, anything like crazy glue or gorilla glue work perfect for PVC. Don't use a lot and risk a mass of glue everywhere, I make sure first to line up the broken piece to where I need to put it, so I can immediately attach once the glue is on. To apply the glue, I put a drop on a paper plate or something and use the point of a toothpick to pick up and apply a thin layer of glue, and since it dries fast, I immediately applied the broken piece. Just hold it to that spot for a few minutes just to be sure, maybe blow on it to speed up the dry time. I did this to my Cordelia’s lance and it worked just fine, just don’t want to jostle her too much haha, she stays where she is 😅 Hope I was of some help!
I don't have a fancy detolf, but I have my great aunt's curio cabinet that I use. I bought some acrylic stands recently to give some variation in heights to the variety of figures I have, and while rearranging the shelves I dropped Hibari from Hitman Reborn (I don't know the company but he's a giant chibi figure) and poor Hibird (his little yellow bird) came flying off his head *sob* Thankfully I was able to glue it back together but that's my first ever break of a figure. Also thankfully they weren't too expensive of figures, but still. It's almost impossible to find good figures from that series.
once I accidentally flung my track suit hanayo love live nendoroid across my desk, she only got a little mark on her hair but I was so sad haha. It's barely visible but I'll always know ;w;
You have my sympathies. I broke a newly purchased figure of mine a couple months ago. Got a Phat Company Metallica figure. Problem is she is very thin, epically at the joints. She fits VERY tight to the pegs of her base too. I used too much force trying to get her on her base and her whole foot came off. I was heartbroken. Thankfully with a bit of superglue and a much more delicate touch I was able to repair her and get her on her base. I don't think anyone else could tell she is broken but I know. Very frustrating but I imagine it happens to everyone that collects figures eventually.
I can definitely understand these pain ….i like to collect nendoroids and since they are so fragile i have to be so careful….they are like my baby so even if it’s broken from inside which no one will ever know and i do fix them later….but still in my heart i know it’s broken 😭😭😭
I’m sorry that some of your figure is broke. Recently a bunny figure is fine, it’s base broke in pieces. And ears came off🥺😭 I really liked your videos though and your figures are amazing
I have snapped the staff on my Bishoujo Huntress to the point that I can't repair it (the peg is snugged into the pole, unable to remove it and reattach it to its place) and even though that was all me because I could not bother putting it down while cleaning, I still think that it could have been worse. Have been collecting for like 6 years and have 30+ scale figures and only broke about 4 or so. Most have been solved by super glue but it does irk me from time to time just looking at the figure and knowing that they had a quick fix rather than being pristine
I'm guilty of breaking the base of my Omegamon GEM Statue. I was attaching the cape, and didn't realize how loose the base was. I had to use Gorilla Super Glue to fix the toe and the effect part.
I have not broken a figure yet and I hope I don’t but I do have a figure who has this strange blue stains on its fingers and I would love some advice on how to remove them pls
I am clumsy too I learned to not buy figures that lots of small pieces with point of contact and to keep figures on sturdy objects. I cringed when I saw my 1/4 Hatsune Miku fell it wasn't noticeable the damage. After awhile grew out of Miku and gave her away to friend who fixed it amazingly.
I have a Racing Miku 2018 1/7th scale figure and when I was dusting it one day I took the figure off the stand (not a problem normally) but the issue was that the metal rod that was supposed to be attached to the base came off with her boot, and it was STUCK- this was my first scale figure and when I tell you I CRIED😭Anyway it was okay because I super glued it back to the base but I just know it’s broken and it bothers me constantly
I haven't broke a figure due to me being a klutz but I got one that came broken which is my Kotobukiya Tanjiro. His head fell off inside his sealed box and when I opened I found out his left earring was detached. I was so anxious that time coz he is my very first scale figure. I only used superglue to fix it but I'm still scared it will fall off again. Good thing I have his bonus smiling head so that's what I have put him on display. That experience made me more careful on handling my figures.
Thanks for this video, Gwyn. Broke the peg off the base of my Aqua B-Style and got stuck in her foot. When I tried to remove the peg with tweezers, I just ended up pushing in further! At least it was just a base peg, but this video really helps me cope with the damage 😭
That's happened to my Ritsu Max Factory too, when I pulled out of her base, the peg broke off 😔,now I just have to lean her on the shelf.she standing on Azusa Max Factory carpet base currently.
I feel ya on those little pieces! My very first figure was a tanjiro figure and without even realising I broke one of his delicate earrings. Was so sad but I was able to glue it back on. But yeah I still feel it in my heart and worry that it will break off again. But it could just be glued on again so I shouldn't worry too much. Lesson learned though. So easy to happen to anyone
I really would've tried to fix the guitar neck on the Azusa figure, since it does seem like an easy fix. I don't want to sound harsh, but in this particular case, I look down on unnecessarily taking a figure out the market supply, but that's because I've seen the astronomical rise in figure prices over the last 15 years and the *manufacturers are definitely NOT HELPING* in making figure collecting an easier hobby.
One of my first figures was the Ye Xiu nendoroid (the King's avatar). I tried displaying him while he was holding his cigarette but just a few days after I displayed him, the cigarette was gone. I still have no idea where and it's not great since if you know ye xiu, you know he smokes. But now I've displayed him with no small pieces and I at least feel at ease that I won't loose anything.
My husband got me the Saiyuki Reload Burst Genjo Sanzo figure from Kotobukiya and when moved from Texas to Ohio he was reboxed and shipped out with my many Disney collector dolls and shipped to my aunts because there was no way I was having a mover touch my dolls. So when I was reunited with him and was unpacking I noticed the cigarette that he had in his mouth was missing to never be found again but I still love him. The other figure that I have that is broken and I had to use a UV pen on to fix was my Project Irelia unlocked figure by Riot he top blade sits on this very thin piece of plastic and when she came in and I took her out of the bag she came in I noticed one her blades was lose and just barely touching it, it came right off..... the UV pen worked wonders since it was pink plastic. This past summer one of my oldest but most figure Princess Shirahoshi from Megahouse broke her hair it just fell off during dusting and I cried forever because she is one of original figures of my collection and I begged my husband to fix her so he brought home this industrial strength super glue and was able to fix her .... her hair is now on her tighter than the day I bought her which was back in 2012.
honestly this is why i am terrified of buying more expensive figures beyond the inexpesive prize figures because i already know im going to accidently drop one and i will cry.
I have the whole collection of the Madoka GSC figures with their weapons. All of them where fine to equip their weapons to EXPECT Mami. I tried to get one of her guns in her hand and she has 1 long finger you have to move to get it on the trigger and I broke it off on accident!!! I had to super glue it back but I can't put her gun in her hand T_T That makes me so upset to this day.
I only have 10 figurines in my life that I take care of like my life...6 are in their blister and 4 outside...unfortunately for me a broken figurine loses its soul in the breakage and its not the same anymore...I already have broke a really small detail on one of my figurines but I couldn't stand it and I sold the figurine to buy a new one... my figurines are vintage and cheap because I don't want an expensive figurine because the risk is too great for me and the vintage make rare figurine in itself because you have to search a lot to find and it make a story between you and the figure ... Good luck... I always advise having quality over quantity when you love something very much
Yeah I mistakenly broke a figure I just got fortunate for me it was a cheap figure under 30$ it was because the hands needed to be assembled and the hands snapped
The bow on my devil homura scale killed me tbh. It was my grail and was already loose when I got her then broke off when I had to move her a tiny bit and couldn’t repair it. Gonna try again some day. Very much like the Levi in how easy it was to break
I know it might be a long shot, but I have used baby power and gorilla super glue mixed into a paste and very gently put a dollop on a broken piece. So far, it was the only thing that would work to keep my PVC figures together after a break (since super glue just doesn't work on its own) the baby powder words as a solid agent for the super glue to mould with so it creates a good texture. Its worked for me, just gotta be careful because the baby powder doesn't glue clear.
Totally agree with " u know in ur heart it is broken n nt quite the same". I broke 4 out of 9 figures when i first unbox them, being a total klutz. Console myself by embracing Japanese "wabi-sabi" mindset (loosely translated to imperfection is prefect") 😭😫
Broke the foot on the recent Date A Live figure from Bellfine. Oh boy was I mad it was my first time I damaged a over 100$ figure. Thankfully it was a clean break and no one can tell by looking at it.
My cat jumped on my shelves and knocked off my kotobukiya banana fish figure and it scuffed the paint in two small places 😭 (she’s normally not allowed in the room I keep my figures in but was somehow let in) it’s really not that noticeable but knowing how expensive it’s resale value is and also how special the figure was to me in general, my heart just hurts so bad when I think about it 😞
Oh I hate the feeling you get when you repair a broken figure but you know it's broken ;( I broke the hand peg off one of my RAH figures and had to drill a hole inside the wrist to retrieve the peg. I can't see the damage but I can feel It in my soul ༎ຶ‿༎ຶ had to pack it away in hopes of forgetting lol
Ouch this was painful to watch. I thought i had gotten over my worst break, detaching the arm of Lavi from d gray mans megahouse figure when he came off his base with a bit too much force literally the day i got him, but you can still kind of tell he is broken because there is a dab of superglue on his arm and a bit of a gap between the arm and sleeve, but i still feel lucky to have him since his aftermarket price means many people who want him can't afford him
my mio figure came already with a broken peg so i had to drill up into her leg & re enforce her with a metal rod that i cemented into the base. never gonna be able to re-sell her, but wasn't planning on it anyways. she still looks great.
Only two of mine broke one was a neno it was the black rock shooter ova version, her neck piece just popped off one day like a month after I got her in 2020 did it again a few months back but not a big deal she is an older neno, my figarts milky rose precure figure the neck piece also broke which that one was on me cause for some reason it got stuck and I pulled to get her face off and it broke. The only time I had to glue figures is like two of my mikus cause these ones are known for the twin tails not staying in and just coming off.
ahh I only have a few scales since I've only been collecting since October and most my scales are preorders but the worst break I had was definitely my mikasa nendoroid, she's already old so she's super fragile but I ended up dropping her and her hair got a white scratch which I was already upset about and then I tried to pose her in her flying pose with the her odm gear and everything and she ended up toppling down my bookshelf breaking her odm gear and her little clear piece on the back :") I was in tears but ended up super gluing the odm gear and its not noticeable from afar, unfortunately fixing the back piece is no use
Afaik, I have damaged none of my figures. However, one of my figure does suffer from color transfer from the red velvet base that came with it... now her thigh and elbow have a red patch on the bottom. And another is a bit out of box(new) defective in that the pegs on the base does not fit correctly to the figure (distance between peg differs from distance between hole). Unfortunately, they cannot guarantee a replacement would not suffer from the same defect and the figure is steady on one peg, so I kept it. I think that is the full extend of my less than perfect(for out of box) figures. Edit: Just to be clear, when I say afaik, I mean just that. I honestly cannot be certain that I have never broken a small and insignificant piece, be it a strand of hair or a piece of frail on clothing. You literally need to catch that in the moment to notice. And I haven't, so I don't think I've broken anything. I've certainly never dropped a figure. But... there is no way to be sure that nothing is broken at all.
I can relate so much to this. I started collecting last year. Got my ARTFX Red with Charmander, so happy got it looked. Then a week after I was painting my room, moved the shelf I had it off without taking everything out first and all I hear is charmander hitting the ground and the tail going flying across the room. So sad since I basically killed charmander according to the pokedex lmfao Got some gorilla glue and it's "fixed", but if you get close you'll see where it broke off. Whenever I glimpse at it, I am just constantly reminded at what a dumbass I am.
I remember my Futaba nendoroid came and the pocket kept popping off, I had to super glue it back on and I was sooo nervous because I am really klutzy too but luckily it went smoothly. 😅
Luckily there are only two figures with broken pieces in my collection. The first one is the robot of the Inori Figma. I droped it and one ear broke but I could glue it back together and it isn't visible anymore. The second one is my Odile from Skytube. I took her clothes of once to see how it works and when I but her Skirt back on one of the three pins that hold the two halves together broke. It isn't noticeable at all because the other two pins are enough to keep the Skirt together. But I was still super sad.
Yup! I went OH MAAAAN!!! in the car (earlier on I had your vid in the car as an audio podcast) when you describe the break on your Spike figure. Anyways don't be too hard on yourself - it happens to the best of us. My experience in broken figures are a few as well. I broke the chopsticks of the yakisoba dish on my FREEing Watanuki Fuuri (one of Sonico's bandmates) yukata figure - fixed with some glue. I had an arm already come off a 5-dollar prize figure of Aragaki Ayase (of OREIMO) when I unboxed her - no biggie as she was cheap and easy to fix. But my Kato Megumi 1/7 Max Factory jumping figure (with all her stuff 'flying off') had her glasses broken off her nekomini headband. This is a similar example to your Levi where things are just scantily attached - and it just beggars belief how these items are just barely adherent to each other yet robust enough to stay as it is. I was annoyed when I noted the broken glasses as the store didn't declare the figure broken (AmiAmi for example let the customer knows and a break would mean a C category as you well know). I knew I didn't break it and a possible explanation was that it broke in transit. Again, fixed it with glue and although its angle isn't accurate, I could live with it. I so agree with you that it feels bad that deep down you know the figure's broken... I actually have the Misato UC figure too now (thanks to you) and she's still in the box. I am due to assemble another display case this weekend and reserve a shelf for EVA figures... I may have to think of a way to ensure that she doesn't topple over - my floor is stable but with accidental bumps on the display, does Misato fall over that easily? And if so, have you done anything to prevent future "narcolepsy" collapses :P ... I'd be extremely grateful for any tips. (I was thinking if I should use an unused cushion for one of my other figures for her to kneel on making her angle more to her back... lol) Looking forward to your next vid! ^^
I have a panty figure from paswg and like I have the one that she is transforming into an angel that figure was EXPENSIVE and some months after getting her she fell from my hands and one of her wings that was on her shoe broke….but it was the wing from the side that u can’t see it that well. I made another wing it is almost like the other one but breaking ur first scale and most expensive figure is just sad 🙁👍
I just broke a figure that fell right off the top of my detolf. It was brutal, Her foot was stuck in the base and her entire body broke off her foot, and then a little hair piece that was sticking up broke as well. Entirely my fault though, I put her on a mug and she was NOT secure at all LOL
I felt this so much ;-; I once broke a string from my Zelos (Tales of Symphonia) figure and just like you mentioned it was attached at one small point to the rest of the figure and one wrong move and it just fell off ; _ ; The worst thing I experienced was when I ordered two Madoka figures from Mandarake and they both came in broken. One had it's head broken and the other the hand and it hurted me and my friend so much. My boyfriend was able to glue it back on and you really can't see it, but the war flashbacks stay 😣
well breaks happen, and it hurts a lot. since started collecting figures in 2015 i broke two figures. it happened when i cleaned my detolf. since then i'm really carefull now xD that heartbeat tho when that shit happens -.-
I hate it when anime figures are gripping weapons tightly because its extremely easy to break trying to remove it when swapping it out. On the other hand, its annoying when its not gripped tightly because overtime the hand looses its grip 🤔.
It's a great video. I think people who are new to figures tend to handle them on the rougher side because they have no clue how delicate they could be. I know that because that is me 😂
I broke my first ever nendoroid tooko amano by taking pictures outside. she fell. scratched the paint off on her hair piece. And then my first scale figure xiao mei 1/6 scale by taking pictures (again) outside. dropped her out of my hand into the grass. cut over her lip. it was a sad day. luckily her magnetic fish assecory covers it up pretty well. I still went outside to take pictures with other figures after that. oops. nothing ever happed besides that though.
Yeahh.. you are right, you are not alone.. i shaved my nendoroid dazai eyebrow accidently.. so yeahhh.. And my nendo dazai is a 2nd hand figure, and his paint is fell off so it stained the faceplates, this condition is the previous owner fault.. not happy about that, but he is like my 3rd nendo i ever had and my 1st 2nd hand figure.. yeahh.. i am really dumb bcs i am new on collecting nendos.. soo... still hard, but yeahhh.. now i have story to tell to the world.. Thankyou for opening this comment section..
I’ve never broken a figure but to be fair I started collecting in college and they where in boxes only until recently when I moved out. My friend broke one of my figures though when she was helping me move. I couldn’t even be mad at her because she was helping me but I was low key mad lol. It was my Yato noragami figure…which is pretty rare now so yeah was not happy about that lol.
If you're still looking for advice on how to fix broken parts, I highly recommend loctite super glue (the gel control version). It's often used for assembling miniatures and comes out of the bottle one drop at a time. It makes it easier to keep the glue from bubbling over onto your parts.
Yeah I had to do that for my Erika Kuramoto bunny as her head came completely snapped off!

Drill hole with 0.5mm pin vise and connect snapped pieces with 0.5 mm brass wire. Conservative dab of super glue of each end of the wire.
Thank you! Hello from Canada!
It wasn't just a broken piece, it was a piece of your broken heart. I feel ya.
Hi Gwyn, Just sell her as broken. There is more than likely someone out there that would do a custom or know how to repair it themselves with expert technique!!! Thank you for sharing!!!
i can feel the pain watching you sharing this. my condolences. right, i did too.
I'm so glad! Welcome to the hobby and that's a great fig to get started with!
You're my fav anime collector youtuber! You're just so sweet and your voice is so soothing.
One of my Jean nendoroid joints broke for the leg and I honestly feel like it was a quality control issue because it was so hard to put the leg in that the joint just broke from me pushing it in too hard I was sad but then glued it but now I can’t change her legs anymore so she’s forever stuck in that position
"that crunch" will always be a heart crusher HAHAHA and about the broken guitar, you can try using the gel version of loctite super glue :D
You know in your heart its broken, Yep every collector knows that pain
You're definitely not alone! I have also broken many figures, including the Cowboy Bebop one. (I snapped one of the glass shards off...) I can think of at least 7 instances off the top of my head. 😅 The first time it happened, I was extremely upset, but I've reached a point now where I'm just like, "Eh. sh*t happens. Time to grab the super glue." 😂
7 months...!? And you already have a collection thats 3x bigger than mine.. ive been collecting for 4 years which is sad...😭
I also know what you mean about knowing that your figure is broken.. my Another Little Mermaid figure by Myethos arrived with her hair broken.. you cant see the glue but i know its broken everytime i see it...
About 3 years ago, the display case (was not a Detolf) in which my figures were standing together crashed. Most of my 40 figures have broken down or have scratches since then. It was one of the worst days ever...
I'm so sorry that happened 😭
I really like this view! Saving money by fixing figs is such a great way to get grails into your collection, I love collectors like you!
@@GwynCollects Thank you so much! That's such high praise omg (*´ω`*) I'm only about a year into collecting, so breaking that stigma early has really helped my wallet haha!
@@GwynCollects Yeah because the figure is still a work of art in need of a good home! If it can be salvaged, it's such a waste to abandon it!
I'm just so nervous to try and fix as something as precious to me as a figure!
But they are *so* precious to me I just couldn't leave it broken. I would always try and give it another chance ; - ;
I did this to my Cordelia’s lance and it worked just fine, just don’t want to jostle her too much haha, she stays where she is 😅
Hope I was of some help!
Your figure handling muscle memory will improve, as you've only been collecting for 7 months. :)
I hope so!
once I accidentally flung my track suit hanayo love live nendoroid across my desk, she only got a little mark on her hair but I was so sad haha. It's barely visible but I'll always know ;w;
Accidents are accidents, even the most careful can have them so it happens as easy as that but breaks totally suck.
Any advice for cracked figurines? The figurine is still one piece but there are multiple cracks? Could it be repaired or is it just too old?
Yay been waiting all week for a video =)
I am clumsy too I learned to not buy figures that lots of small pieces with point of contact and to keep figures on sturdy objects. I cringed when I saw my 1/4 Hatsune Miku fell it wasn't noticeable the damage. After awhile grew out of Miku and gave her away to friend who fixed it amazingly.
I watched k-on! bc of you and I loved it !!
Try not to feel too bad, that figure is really hard to assemble, i feel you!
ive lost mamis gun, so im a step ahead lol
I have 4 broken figures that I need to repair 🥲 they're all small breaks but I haven't built up the courage to get to it yet haha
Broke my megahouse gem victor figures leg when I was putting him on his base had to replace him completely! 😭
My cat jumped on my shelves and knocked off my kotobukiya banana fish figure and it scuffed the paint in two small places 😭 (she’s normally not allowed in the room I keep my figures in but was somehow let in) it’s really not that noticeable but knowing how expensive it’s resale value is and also how special the figure was to me in general, my heart just hurts so bad when I think about it 😞
my swimsuit prinz eugen fell from her base today when I was arranging my shelf she has some paint scratches on her hair now T_T
Oh I hate the feeling you get when you repair a broken figure but you know it's broken ;(
I broke the hand peg off one of my RAH figures and had to drill a hole inside the wrist to retrieve the peg.
I broke my Satsuki senketsu scale figure I was upset when her sword Snapped in 2 it was so hard to put it in her hand I had to glue it back together
It’s not the end of the world, but we can all cry together. I don’t think we ever really get over it. Just outta sight outta mind 🥲
ahh I only have a few scales since I've only been collecting since October and most my scales are preorders but the worst break I had was definitely my mikasa nendoroid, she's already old so she's super fragile but I ended up dropping her and her hair got a white scratch which I was already upset about and then I tried to pose her in her flying pose with the her odm gear and everything and she ended up toppling down my bookshelf breaking her odm gear and her little clear piece on the back :") I was in tears but ended up super gluing the odm gear and its not noticeable from afar, unfortunately fixing the back piece is no use
ive scratched up too many of my figures lmao its tough out here
Same 🙋🏻♀️ No broken figs, but some scratched 😭
@@eunyounguzun2597 it was after i scratched my 3rd figure i was like hm maybe i am quite clumsy XD
So sad since I basically killed charmander according to the pokedex lmfao
Got some gorilla glue and it's "fixed", but if you get close you'll see where it broke off.
(I was thinking if I should use an unused cushion for one of my other figures for her to kneel on making her angle more to her back... lol)
Looking forward to your next vid! ^^
I have a panty figure from paswg and like I have the one that she is transforming into an angel that figure was EXPENSIVE and some months after getting her she fell from my hands and one of her wings that was on her shoe broke….but it was the wing from the side that u can’t see it that well. I made another wing it is almost like the other one but breaking ur first scale and most expensive figure is just sad 🙁👍
my figure is leaning, do you know what I can do to fix the leaning?
My boyfriend was able to glue it back on and you really can't see it, but the war flashbacks stay 😣
well breaks happen, and it hurts a lot. since started collecting figures in 2015 i broke two figures. it happened when i cleaned my detolf. since then i'm really carefull now xD that heartbeat tho when that shit happens -.-
I recently broke my 1/4 Jibril’s wings when I tried to fit the peg into the holes- the crack on the wing will haunt me for life. p a i n ;-;
I hate it when anime figures are gripping weapons tightly because its extremely easy to break trying to remove it when swapping it out.
On the other hand, its annoying when its not gripped tightly because overtime the hand looses its grip 🤔.
I had the same problem with pop up parade megumin. Her magic stuff keep falling off lol
What shipping do you choose for your figures in general? Thanks
😩Sh Figuarts Chaos Dukemon's Head Piece And Shoulder Pad.
i broke my first nendoroid and it made me cry akdjd i understand the pain of breaking a figure
It's a great video. I think people who are new to figures tend to handle them on the rougher side because they have no clue how delicate they could be. I know that because that is me 😂
Hurts 10x if you are perfectionist, but time heals all wounds
Even a little bit scratch hurts me 🥲
paint scuffs, broken, learn to fix and paint, re-create ur own figure of your colours. u will feel better this way.
My heart literally BROKE when I read which figure it was 😭
