Hey all, thanks for all the likes on the last video! Let’s get those last 60 or so on this one so I can give away the pedals asap and get on to some juicy giveaways! Cheers
Owned my Blues Power for 3 years now and i use it mainly to drive my modified blues junior 2 x 12 with 6v6 and redone circuit ala Fender Deluxe Reverb. Great sounding clean amp but never really like the preamp drive so i use the Blues Power with drive up and volume on 2 as i crank the master on the amp. Learned this from another video yrs back. Works great acting like an attenuator and still getting power tube saturation. And doesn’t color the tone as much as an attenuator (and i have a good one in a Rivera Rockcrusher). Cheers!
Incredible pedal! One of the very few out there that sounds and feels as big as cranked vintage Tube amp channel. Huge sounding! Instant SRV and Hendrix tones.
Man...love all this, but have to say 7:10-7:21 WOW that seems SO touch sensitive and expressive on the double stops and clean up so much with light attack. So impressive. But you’re finding the Protein/AP to be more so? Wow. I’ll check them out. Cheers!
I have that one and it's all I've wanted, drive for my 74 SR and man... Stack it with a fuzz and back off the volume on the strat... Or go full blast!! Best pedal for take a fuzz I've tried, and I have a Timmy, kot, zendrive, klones...
I got introduced to kingtone 2years ago fuzz pedal.. Blues power , Bluebird pick ups SRV switch. Slowly but surely Ill get em all . I love Everything thats put out. If your on the fence jump over .. You will not be disappointed with anything from Kingtone
Great video. Cool that you picked up on the similarities between the BP and the Jan Ray too (variants of the same circuit). I had a similar experience with the Red Spiral Drive recently and think my pedal collection would be way smaller if I’d found it first. Having said that it didn’t stop me buying a Nordland ODR-C and Gladio SM recently 😳😂. I think I’ve got a problem!!!
Yeah, join the club! This is both an enabling and a support channel 🤟🏼 yeah, i thought they must have something in common! And the collection will continue to grow...
Hello James great video I have learned a lot.One question I have for you ,and would be very helpful to me.Does the King Tone blues Power sound as good at Bedroom levels or playing in the garage.I cannott play loud at band levels as the neighbours don't appreciate it and we all need to respect the neighbours. I do like the kingtone blues but does it sound nice at lower volumes.Thank you very much and I look forward to your reply. regard Ray
Love the video, your intro music over powers your talking about the pedal. I’m wearing headphones and it was hard to hear your voice. I’m not a software engineer by any means but just want to see your channel grow and just being honest with the feedback.
Hi, ah thanks for that feedback! I’ve always been careful to try and keep the level low and let my voice be heard, but then i notice on other channels where the music is louder and it gives a sort of upbeat feeling to the video, so i guess i need to try and get the right balance! It sounded ok on my studio speakers and i guess it can be different on various devices etc 🤷🏽
JAMES ON GUITAR, How can you set the kingstone blues power to be very extra glassy cleans? because the pedals manual settings for the glassy clean setting is somewhat very subtle. I'm not sure how the kingtone blues power is different from a stock Tube screamer or blues breaker pedal or klon?
That amp sounds so good it's actually hard to tell the difference on alot of the pedals. But when you put the Blues Power on Edge.... Oh Yea.... That's the Balls AND The Taint. Lmao. I'm glad you talked about the difference being in feel because I believe that's the part we're all chasing really. That true tube cranked feel is hard to fake.
you should put a db meter in your room so we can see how loud it is. there are db apps. if i ran my blues power at that volume with an amp set at a decently loud bedroom volume it would easily get up to 90db or more.
Btw, I've been looking to move into another overdrive and been looking at the duelist and this one, both sound SO DAMN GOOD! Stumped beyond myself here, lmaoo
Awesome tones! James, you need to check out the Cornerstone Gladio if you haven't already. I just got the new Single Channel version and it's that SRV/Ford tone in a box.
oh yeah, I tried to buy one the other day from Andertons, but need to wait until they are back in stock! The Blues Power is up there with the Jan Ray imo as a fantastic dynamic pedal
Hey James. Have to say, really enjoying this channel, well done! Not sure I’m quite there yet on the Blues Power (bit too gritty maybe?) though Davey Bones recommends it and his opinion is very valuable! The Jan Ray sounded awesome. I play a KT Fuzz Si (with volume on strat rolled back to 8) into the String Singer side of the Duellist and ultimately into a Two Rock CRS and it’s a killer sound. You must get the fuzz! It’s my favourite of all the many pedals I have. Keep up the great content. Cheers! 👍
So, it’s a friday night here in covid land and I’ a little bored. In comes this comment. Oh interesting, I say (muffled so as not to alert my wife to a potential shenanigan), another fuzz recommendation. Now the proud owner of both a KT Fuzz Si and Ge because of a comment and a sorry state of world affairs. But having watched both of Jesse’s videos on these... it sounds like I’ll be very happy in a few days when they arrive 🤟🏼🤟🏼 and yup Davey Bones is right, the blues power is fantastic - gritty as you say, and maybe not quite the Jan Ray but still something special 👍🏼
Thanks for the reply. Excellent news! I don’t especially like Fuzz. But the clean tone on the KT fuzz with the volume dialled back slightly is unbelievable. Would love to hear the difference between the Silicon and the Germanium for sure.
@@JamesKeen funny that, my favourite use of fuzz is the same. I mainly use the Dan Drive Austin Pride dialled back so it just gives a hint of hair. But surely now I will do a silicon/germanium video. Cheers
New subscriber. Enjoying the channel. Great content. I'm curious, of all the pedals you've experienced this far, which were your personal top 3 favorites with humbuckers in your setup?
Hi - thank you! Good question - probably my Ryra klon clone, any of the Bluesbreaker types - bb preamp, duellist, browne protein - and the Dod Looking Glass which is a great transparent overdrive. Hope that helps 👍🏼
Generally i find it works best if the amp is already giving you something. No doubt it can make a neutral tone sound great, but if the amp is just edging towards breakup then it can do really great things too
Nice Pedal James. Would be interesting to see if you can get these types of tones from Two Rock's without pedals. Matt Schofield can, but then he's Matt Schofield . . . Lol
Haha yeah good luck to me! But I think I tried that in this video th-cam.com/video/68x3WZLk75U/w-d-xo.html and I reckon I could give it a better crack now having learned a bit more. Essentially that sort of tone without pedals is a result of volume and hence why a pedal industry exists for us home guitar types i think 🧐
In quality terms just as good, but just a slightly different type of od sound really - the blues power is more cooking amp and the shanks more sort of harmonic and furry nobels type
James, Like the honesty, Ive seen your vids for a while, I’m an eternal intermediate ameteur, can afford and have some of the stuf fyou have, do you do lessons ?

@@simont4435 i say that because he said his amp is always cranked. Likely the BP would take it too far and have too much oomph imho. But it is a hard one, because we could be using the descriptors to mean our very own idea of something. The protein is more transparent, and as he says the tone comes from his amp i assume he wants to keep the character of the amp - the protein will do that as opposed to the bp which does have more of its own character. But the bp has a LOT more balls, so does fulfil that part of it… If possible, buy both and then send one back!

Yeah, absolutely - it is a massive sound!
Love my Blues Power, I use it constantly, it is an amazing pedal with lots of very musical tones to use, great video James! keep em, rolling!

i just fell in love with this pedal!
It only took me about 3 notes to fall in love with it too 🤟🏼

The Tchula sounds amazing, so much emotion!!! Keep up the good work🙌💯
Thanks! Yeah the tchula is pretty amazing 🤟🏼
I like the new pedal and the Tchula out of those most.

Great Colour contrasts in the video. Helps to see what your doing too

I’ve got the Duelist and love it!
O man! I feel like the blues power gets overtaken by the Dueslist in videos but it definitely shines on its own. Really nice!
Oh yeah, the duellist steals the show, i think because it is 2-in-1 but the blues power is so great to play with
