Nice one, UoG does have really informative videos unlike other unis, which are basically montages and happy music. Oh btw, I am coming this September!!

Hey Ben! The transport connections in Glasgow are very good and more than enough to see all the attractions. It's easy to walk around the city as well.
If you're going further afield, bus and train are just as good - you could always rent a car if that's your preference but it is not essential.

Hey Linnea, thanks for your comment - there is, Mint has just missed that in her vlog. The main bus provider in the city is currently First, who have annual and weekly tickets for students: www.firstgroup.com/greater-glasgow/tickets/ticket-types/student-bus-travel.
If you also wanted to use the trains and subway, there's a ZoneCard which covers all of them: www.spt.co.uk/travelcards/zonecard/.

I was born & raised in Glasgow, but left decades ago for Australia. I was surprised to hear that Uber is more expensive than the taxis in Glasgow, as where I am Uber started out to undercut the taxis, which until then we're extortionately priced, & had a monopoly. Uber is cheaper & more popular here. As for Glasgow's expensive buses, this just defeats the purpose of HAVING these. The authorities really need to subsidise these a lot more.

Taxi, because the transport is shit.

If you live within a 1 mile radius of the university then public transport is great although in some areas it is poor as yourself alluded. The Subway will take you from Byres Road to Buchanan Street in 20 minutes and I seem to remember a great place for pizza and chips next to Buchanan Street station. I don't know if it is still there though.
