Totally agree. They do look awesome but you have to stop somewhere before you just make it too heayy. I upgraded the drivetrain to Vitavon and lower trailing arms bit that's it for me.
Nice to see confirmed what my issue is with the heavy monstrus tires nowadays. For instance, monstertruck tires were about 150mm, now like 180mm. On my kraton i drive only 2.8" now. Saves +1kg, that's about 20% off total weight rtr!!! Drives way better, lower cg, lower temperatures, lower wear and faster. Lightweight, thats the way to go, just like racers do...
What motor/esc did you end up going to compansate the weight... AND... was that worth it? The other thing you can do if your temps allow you to, gear up or get a strong "C" rating battery(s), that would help get that extra kick out of the hole. A lot of people firgeabout their batteries for performance upgrades. I put 2.2" on my 2 wheel drive slash ^ proline monsters and with some body trim and a sidewinder 2 on 2 S drove way better than stock.
I had like 8 sets of Vitavon wheels for UDR and sold them all. They are superb quality and they look excellent but: they will rub on the body, you can feel their weight while driving and I thought they will cause more damage overall to the car on every crash or hard landings. The good thing is that they will add rotation mass and weight on the bottom which help with stability so you'll have less rollovers. Personally, I cannot recommend running aluminium wheels just because the extra weight can be felt a lot.
@@TeamRC3D alloy is good for center of mass items such as gearboxes / bulk heads / chassis / chassis braces. everything that extends out from the center of mass should be made of something that can absorb impact and spring back or break.
Only way is on the hexes . Best to try adjusting dampers and roll bars . What surface are you running on. We will shortly be releasing a video of racing them on high grip grass and they handled really well
@@TeamRC3D ok Its crazy no one's made something so you can widen the wheelbase since rolling over is such an issue with it. My next thing is the vitavon sway bar kit v2
Proline sucks. I buy a set of 4 for my VITAVON wheels and I just use like 7 minutes and one of those new new tires ripped. I said new newer use it. And is not another tire fit the vitavons Wheels. For proline is a good thing to sold those tires .
Proline sucks indeed. Had way way too much failures with them. Asked them about it since i spend hundreds of dollars on them. No reaction... the truck bodies are not bashproof also, only slow rolls, tend to brake at rearbed/cabine.. I suggest to spend your money on other brands...

Yes. We have limited the alloy upgrades due to weight

Yes agreed and when it is rotating mass it magnifies the effects
It would be interesting to see the standard Vitavon wheels for the stock tires compared to the stock wheel/tire combo.
We will be doing some more UDR tyre testing soon
So, for the extra weight from the bedlocks and tires, it's preferable to compensate by adding a stronger motor and chocks

I mean which esc can you get that can support the UDR LED's? IMO the stock power is plenty on 6s stock. If you want more power just buy a sbr 2.0
I just bought some headlocks for my UDR but I'm running two Gens Ace 3s lipo batteries, that they make the stock tires expand.
What gearing?
I would image with all the metal bits and pieces it will definitely put a strain on the motor, especially when applying the brakes.
Yes you can feel the extra weight!
Nice drone footage!
Yes like the drone footage - we will do some more
wish they made some plastic beadlocks wheels like proline use to make.
Yes wheels are a little limited for the UDR
I can't wait to get mine

Agreed extra weight makes big difference. Cannot understand people that throw a lot of alloy upgrades on the truck

Interesting. Did you have both versions (for stock tires and for Hyrax tires)? If so, which combo did you feel was better overall?
Is there a way to widen the wheelbase of the udr gpm has a +3mm hex but I was looking to make it more stable in a turn by widening it.

the vitavon wheels are quality you can see it
so i just bought these wheels and tires and i cant seem to get the wheels on the hex flush. did you have that problem?
Long as they locate should be fine

The vitavon V2 wheels are made only for proline hyrax. You have to get the standard vitavon wheels
What about stock rims with those proline tires?
Had thought about that. That will be on the list of things to try
Can you put the BFGoodrich tire on the vitavon wheel ?
I a m not 100% sure but i think you could yes
You can.
very nice friend👍👍
Thanks for visiting
You ran much cleaner lines with the heavy wheels.
Easier to drive

Stock rims with proline hyrax is best for me up untill now
Good choice!
