Mindfulness is one the best ways to start learning. It helps to train your brain to create the habit. Tara Brachs RAIN technique is a wonderful way to begin to recognize and work with the underlying emotional patterns that take away from your goals and happiness 🙏🏼

Usually, the things I'm avoiding thru social media/time-wasters are general life maintenance tasks: cleaning, cooking, showering, etc. I might be living on a higher level, with more energy, if I got those things done more consistently. But they're incredibly unmotivating.

A problem I've seen in the literature about Ego Depletion - in particular on the "only people who believe in it experience ego depletion" claim, and that the belief can simply be switched to eliminate it - is that it seems equally likely that there's a subset who DO experience Ego Depletion in a genuine, underlying way, which obviously shapes their beliefs about it. So the study I want to see is one where people who claim Ego Depletion are trained or convinced out of it. Because that recommended action of "simply change your mindset" doesn't seem to follow from the original study, which was correlative rather than causative. Would be really glad if anyone knows of such a study!

This was a great video. I actually learned a lot. I appreciate you doing this. However, I did believe will power was a depletable/limited resource. I'm over the battle of the scientific papers and experts coming out with one theory only for it to be debunked 2 days later. I am neuordivergent and my ADHD doctor and coach were advising me based on the depletable/limited willpower theory. Also, I that everyone is different some of these techniques may or may not work with my quirky brain. I definitely have executive function issues. Nonetheless, very helpful video and I will start implementing most of these strategies ASAP. I signed up for your Focus Crash Course too! Looking forward to it. Also, thanks for the updated research on willpower. 🙂

or is the order important for energy ?!

I’ve been developing my own aDhD productivity stuff that works for me.
I understand so much more about myself working remotely. Maybe I should put it out in the world more to help those who also are afflicted with executive dysfunctions.
