      I think the tool which is saw in this case has to be sharp. I tried many times but what happens is if its not cutting quickly we get tired and then it stsrt going wrong. ):

      Btw if the hole in the block is for the cable and your drill is short you have 2 options or extend the drill either buy extension or weld it to round stock or take 2 pieces of wood and cut a groove in one you can use a chisel if you have one and glue the 2 blocks together creating a hole through th middle

      @@RusticDavid , thanks David. You just inspired a lot of confidence in me too. Maybe we are two kind souls making our way in the world for the good of all!
      I am actually unemployed and in poverty, maybe I should look into getting a license to be an educator or something. I used to work in joinery, love being creative with wood, and all things.
      Anyway, all the best and thanks for your kindness.

      stee vo Did you ever consider being self employed if you know joinery,or be a handyman meet people do what you like and get paid! My videos started bringing in some a little money that’s also a possibility if you give instruction on TH-cam im sure people will love your attitude I’m in Israel and here there’s a market teaching kids after school you only need a few basic tools and a table! Anyway I am sure you will find your way all the very best be in touch David

      Hi Trevor thank you for your feedback ,give it a go on some scrap you'll see its not difficult with a few practice cuts,are there any techniques you would like me to cover in a video?Happy woodworking David

    • @trevorcollins9297
      @trevorcollins9297 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi David,thank you so much for your reply. there is a technique I would love you to do a video on and that would be how to cut a perfect circle from a piece of about 3/4inch plywood with a circumference of about 3 inches using hand tools if possible.The reason is I am currently making a whirligig and need to make a hub for the propeller. I do have a jigsaw but is getting a bit old now and doesn't cut a very edge no matter what blade I put in, I really should just buy a new one but was wondering if its possible to do by hand. All the very best...Trev.

    • @RusticDavid
      @RusticDavid  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Trevor hmmmm! Do you have a semi decent hand saw? If so draw the circle on a piece of thick enough wood for your hub then drill a hole in the center screw the piece on the edge of a table or something secure then saw off straight lines that touch the edge of the circle keep doing this and rotating the work piece you will end up with a rough hexagon then use a rasp or sandpaper to round the corners continue removing corners until it’s round it’s interesting I will give it a try too and video it best of luck David

    • @RusticDavid
      @RusticDavid  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ps if you have a clamp use it to keep wood from turning whilst sawing be safe David

    • @RusticDavid
      @RusticDavid  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Alternatively you can buy a coping saw very little expense if you don’t know what one is google it now you have given me a great topic for a video “ways to cut circles with hand tools “ Thanks I will make it asap 🙏🙂

    Hello my name is Zena. I LOVE your Diy videos! You explains everything so easy! Yes i subscribed to your channel. I don't know anything about woodworking, so I'll be asking you things as i do my own projects. Thank you so much for taking your time explaining everything in details. I'll be looking you up, when I start my first project; making a sturdy woodworking table. What do you buy to collect the dust as you work (i don't have a garage, I'm doing all my things in my basement)?

      Hi Zena Thanks for your comment do you have a plan for your work table? To begin with you can simply sweep or use the vacuum cleaner if you use jig saw you might be able to connect it to your vacuum or there are bigger vacuum cleaners for workshops that can connect to your tools anyway I look forward to hearing how you progress Happy Woodworking David
