Yes, it is rather confusing: editions of Beethoven's Sonata's such as the 'Edition Peters' list the sonata as Op. 30 No. 1 in the top right corner, but there is a 6. right before the beginning of the music. The next sonata is listed as Op. 30 No. 2 but has a 7 before the music. As far as I can tell, It is okay to list this as either No. 1 or No. 6.
