Can't thank you enough for this treasure. You didn't just do a quick demo - you repeated the process from start to finish, over and over again, on several tires in real time. I studied and applied your technique and soon had all my tires changed. Never would have learned it without your example. This is a life-skill I will pass on to my sons.

    • @bremCZ

Scott Canfield No! Don't pass this on it is terrible. Do not use square tools on wheels and tires. You can damage the bead of the tire to the point that it could kill you!
If you want to kill your sons teach them this technique.

    Great Video.
You are the Best that I have ever seen!
I tried to do my tires today....and get this....it took me all Frigging day, to just get 4 tires off of 4 wheels.....Yup 5 or 6 F..king HOURS!??!.
Mind you, I didn't have proper tire tools to use.....just small screw drivers and way to THICK of a Crow Bar
Breaking the bead was a piece of cake.....getting the tire off of the wheel, was just HELL to do.
I could eventually peel the tire off of the rim, but I could not get the Tire Off the Frigging Wheel, where as you did it sooooo easily.
When someone is an Expert in doing anything, they can make it look so easy to do.
For me, it was a Living Nightmare to do.
    Thanks again.
    You are the best.

Thanks for making this video! I have watched tons of "how to" videos on changing tires manually (by hand), and this is the quickest, easiest method I have seen. Two long screw drivers and a short sledge (once you break it away from the rim)... PERFECT! I appreciate that buddy! I subscribed! We need more guys like you on here, that get right to the point and clear about method. Simple to watch.

Mark Ewing Dont use a screw driver it can damage the bead of the tire to the point that it can explode. Go to your local store and buy some tire levers. And a rubber ended tire mallet. The right tools for the job mean the job is done right. This guy is a butcher!

You have helped a lot of people and probably prevented some injuries. Excellent! Just simple tools that don't take much space to store. I found a lever powered bead breaker at a garage sale which as worked when the 'jack on bead' which you don't here demonstrate here would not.

Nice job. I did truck tires with truck tire irons.. but there are a few specific things I forgot about when doing car tires that your video brought back to memory. Car tires are tighter.. and that last step can be confusing to remember when you dismount the tire completly while using the pry bar to pull the rubber over and hold it in that specific position and then hitting it in the specific spots on the sidewall with the hammer with a few blows and the rim just pops the rim out nicely.. (dont hit the inside lip of the rim) I remember that I did that once on that last step while prying and trying to drive a tire off of a rim with a hammer.. oops. Fortunately the bead still sealed.
Next time I'm using a dead blow plastic coated hammer.

I am not going to be a critic as he did a relatively good job at changing the tires. I will point out a few things though. First of all there needs to be some kind of soapy water or rubber lubricant used to help assist in the mounting and dismounting of the tires. Second it is not a good idea to use screwdrivers to mount and dismount tires because they can damage the bead area of the tire, making the tire unusable do to bead damage. There is special tire bars specific for the mounting and dismounting the different tires used on all vehicles. I noticed that the rims still had the old wheel weights left on the rims. These tires need to be balanced to get maximum mileage. What you save in changing the tires you lose in excessive tire wear due to unbalanced tires. The last thing is that it is always better to replace the valve stems in the wheels. His demonstration was good and he explained the steps very well.

Very impressive. Fastest DIY tire changing vid I've seen so far. You're the first I've seen to use that slide hammer pole thing to break the bead. Where can I get that tool? Seems a lot faster than driving up a 4x4 or using a jack. You're also the first I've seen that didn't need to use any lube.

  • @DIYTech1
    @DIYTech1 11 ปีที่แล้ว +4

anyone trying to do this at home make sure you lube up the bead of the tire when dismounting and mounting new tire I noticed that he didn't also us some sand paper or if real nasty a wire brush to clean bead surface on the wheel cleaning the wheel will help prevent future bead leaks and the soapy water (lube) will not only help with the mounting and dismounting of the tires but also will help greatly with beading the tire. soapy water also prevents bead from tearing. also make sure when you do this or use air tools in general to wear safety glasses. I can speak on this manner given much experience.

Tires just do not jump over the raised 'hump' in the rim just like that, as Patrick pointed out.
Others suggest using the weight of a car, or a long lever arm against a piece of wood, or just working it a little bit at a time with zero steel tools contacting the alloy rim, and some soapy water.
An oddball size issue? 15" tires on 14.5" rims?

Why don't you get it off at the back so you don't damisch your frontsite. I am from Holland my Englisch is not so good.

You've got that down almost to a balle t; all the subtle moves make the difference....! The bead breaking tool is the only part of the protocol that LOOKS expensive....???

tHIS MAN HAS FITTED MANY TYRES, WELL WORTH WATCHING IF YOU HAVE NEVER TRIED IT BEFORE. AGAIN THOUGH HE HAS RESORTED TO USING A LEVER BAR FOR A TYRE IRON. lEVER BARS ARE JUST NO GOOD, THEY WILL MAKE THE JOB HARD. GET TWO DECENT SIZED IRONS FROM A TOOL SELLER, OR EVEN HARBOR FRIEGHT

This is an excellent method, just use lubricant on the bead before inflating.

Spray glass cleaner or some really diluted dish soap on the beads before prying them off the wheel, and before mounting back on to the wheel, SO much easier, same thing the tire shops do but they use a bead lubricant/sealer.
I can do 4 a little quicker than this at work, but they are all 11.00x22.5 semi-truck tires and aluminum wheels, and we have all kinds of different tire mount & dismount tools.
