Have to take issue with one point Simon made (as usual he can’t help himself from making sly digs). Amanda S did let it be known that Steve Bruce was spoiling to be sacked. Towards the end Bruce was taking the pee to a ridiculous degree. He was commonly turning up at the training ground for only a few hours a day and the amount of days off he was giving the players was extraordinary. The players were livid with the situation because it was completely unprofessional. Bruce was basically saying ‘sack me’ and give me my £8 million by the end. Of course he didn’t quite cross the line in terms of gross misconduct but he was taking the pee no doubt. The contrast with Howe was extraordinary. Howe never saw daylight anywhere other than at the training ground for months because he arrived at work before dawn and left after nightfall every day for months. Bruce would wheel up at 11 and leave at half past 2.
That waste of Steve Bruce is Simon's mate. So his opinion is obviously biased.
Her passion and tenacity was evident throughout the takeover period, and her love for the club ever since has been phenomenal. Thank you for everything Amanda 👏🏻
Got to give her credit. Newcastle have come far in a short time!

Not a Newcastle fan but if a club has money why can't they spend it. As long as the club remains stable it is their money to spend .This would get rid of FFP and points deductions as for fair play , Man city have won the premier league four years on the trot . The big seven will always have an advantage ,but at least smaller clubs like Everton ,Forest and Leicester would not be caught up in all the nonsense.
I don’t see anything wrong with what he said. It was all true and he could have said more. Sure, part of the fuel behind his answer was because he’s an ex owner, and quite a few owners or co owners like Amanda have maybe upset him before or they need putting in their place now and then, but otherwise all true. As I said he could have said more. He strikes a balance between making a point and obv holding firm and then listing the positives. I think fellow fans are far too touchy, like to point the finger at him or pundits for that matter when they make points against us, that’s their job!!
End of the day, Amanda did get in trouble more than once, she did say she will win things in no time, she did manipulate firms and people in a way to get the deal done, then when in financial trouble she cashed in along with her hubby and a day later claimed most of the reason was due to health issues but then changed her story because she’s been looking at other clubs already. lol. Bottom line is, no she didn’t stick it out for long enough, that doesn’t set a good example going forward… yeah she did change things and stable us, but that’s three big names and string pullers including the idiot who joined Man U now have left, so where does that leave us! Who will run things. It’s clear with our low key signings so far that all is unclear and that can yet again have consequences into the season.

Sounds to me like Amanda Staveley's involvement conned the Premier League into believing, or certainly making the football world believe she would act as intermediary between Saudi Arabia and Newcastle. Now they are gone, the question is were the Premier League astute enough to factor in this was their plan all along? Because if at any stage in their honest opinion they ruled based on the presence of an intermediary, then that seems terribly naive to think that they couldn't just be removed at any stage allowing Saudi Arabia full control. I suspect Amanda's presence served to shield both Saudi Arabia and the Premier League from the backlash and pressure campaign that was going on at the time. The key lesson here is if you wait long enough, even really bad acts wash away with time. As one extreme example, just wait till Europe forgives Russia for their atrocities in Ukraine and starts buying their oil and gas again - oh wait, they already are.
