    Caitlin Clark is phenomenal on and off the court. It’s a real shame that many in and around the league have directly and indirectly treated her so poorly.
    I have grown to love most of her teammates. I’ve grown to love few other players. I’ve tried… but then they comment or pile on in a way that exposes their hearts and character. I love Arike. I love Satou. I’ve even grown to love Tarausi, whose beginning of the season snark was about basketball and being a rookie and was completely in line w/ her toughie attitude. At least it wasn’t BS and she came to respect what CC was doing on the court. Game recognizes game. So good on Diana! But unlike DT too many made and are making unfair comments and trying to hold Clark responsible for the crazy of of a few. It’s ridiculous!
    I’ll return in May to support Clark and the Fever. I pray Indiana keeps the thing the thing. I hope as Erica Wheeler said they keep those trying to enter the locker room out! And I pray that the players in this league can grow up and focus on the sport instead of lunatics, trolls, bots and sociocultural outrage. Critiquing Angel doesn’t make me a racist and if a black person likes Caitlin it isn’t a betrayal of black players or people. My goodness, it’s basketball!

      @@TheMeefive Those are awful things to say to or about anyone! I whole heartedly condemn direct, indirect, and/or insinuated racist remarks and behaviors! There is no place for it and I wish I could wave a wand and make it stop forever more.
      What I was pointing out in this and other comments I’ve made is that overwhelmingly Clark fans and Fever fans are basketball fans not racist Aholes. That doesn’t mean there aren’t racist Aholes nor does it mean that the overwhelming majority think that it’s in any way acceptable to say such things or behave in such ways. I also think it’s entirely unfair for so many in and around the W to try and hold Caitlin or the Fever responsible for the comments or behaviors of a handful of terrible people, trolls and bots. I find the behavior, statements, and comments made by multiple players, a few coaches, multiple ex players, one owner, and a ton of sports media talking heads to be shameful. The pile on that has happened over this season on Clark has been RIDICULOUS! That young woman has had an enormous weight placed on her because she is so popular. It made her the target of many who didn’t like her popularity, the attention she received or the endorsement deals she entered. But from the draft through the last game Caitlin played hard, advocated for her peers, complimented every player past and present and represented her team and the league unselfishly and professionally. She NEVER said an unkind word! And she has twice condemned the horrible behavior of the few without throwing millions of us away with the trash she called out. I haven’t heard many in the W stand up to defend Caitlin or even express empathy for the challenges of her popularity and the constant hate that was directed at her because of it.

    Everyone in the WNBA needs to apologize to CC. She never once spoke about this to make herself "look better" or "brag" and yet these women treated her so disgustingly horrible and tried to tarnish her name. The WNBA doesn't deserve her. I guarantee not one player that hates CC (for no good reason) will speak on this. But they will definitely speak on a false narrative that makes Caitlin look bad while claiming to be "victims". I really can't fathom why they have so much hate in their heart for CC. This is why they have been a joke for over 20 years without CC. They act like entitled children. Also, imagine how embarrassed these women would be if CC actually dropped what is in her DM's? I guarantee that she has had it a lot worse than anyone in the WNBA when it comes to harassment, threats, racism, etc. Just look at what we have seen publicly from Antonio Brown and Sheryl Swoopes. I hope they fix this problem before next season. One simple thing I've noticed is CC's layups being far more efficient and fundamentally sound, a requirement to earn respect as a hooper. Whereas so many W players just heave the ball at the hoop hoping the smaller ball just bounces it's way into the bigger hoop. CC just hits the hole against a bigger defender and puts proper power against the backboard to get it in clean. Until the league learns to perform layups like this, I'm not watching non Fever games.

      Ah well. I had that attitude until I understood the sweet deal the NBA made. The split of revenue being 40/20/40 between NBA/Nike & others/WNBA. For example;
      Say the annual revenue is $50million (based on current media deal). The NBA get 40% off the top, $20million in this example. Nike & the other investors get 20%, or $10Million in this example. The WNBA then have the remaining $20million as annual income but if the "annual loss of $10Million" is used in this example, the WNBA would have costs of $30million. Essentially, the NBA then gives back $10Million from its $20Million annual cut. I'd never heard of a revenue share, it has always been a profit share.
      The more traditional (non-sport?) way would be to say income of $50million and running costs of $30million giving a $20million of profits to be shared Applying the same % would be $8million to NBA, $4million to Nike & other investors and $8million to WNBA with some of that shared between players etc
      I assume that the NBA originally gave security for the costs incurred when the WNBA was first set up to get such a huge profit share. IDK. Is this the correct fundamentals?

If she's asking for away players to get a spot check, is she referring to all away players in every game? It sounds like she's asking for her team to get spot checks because they are the away team generating extra revenue for the home team. @@TheMeefive The league is not making money. It's losing it. According to the Washington Post (June 11, 2024) the WNBA is on pace to post yet another losing year (now 28 and counting) to the tune of approximately $50 million, and this despite Caitlin Clark's membership in the league. After nearly thirty losing years it is long past time that the NBA stopped throwing good money after bad, and let the WNBA stand on its own and produce a quality product, one that people actually want to watch, or stand aside and make room for a league that can.

    You said no one's taken a 'direct shot' at Clark but just her and Fever fans, but actually they have: did we forget that pretty early on, Reese in a postgame presser defended her flagrant 1 on Clark by saying that "some people" (ie Clark) get a "special whistle" - and then later in the season she repeated that to a teammate while Clark was within earshot. Also, more than one player's said that Clark either hadn't spoken up or needs to speak up more on some stuff that online trolls spew at players (Clark's already spoken on it twice this season).

While I think most players want to be paid more, I can’t tell whether or not the league is a glorified social club for some players or a serious, top notch league. They definitely were not ready for social media and fan criticisms. I credit the Fever players and staff for how they handled everything as an organization. To Allison’s point, they were under a constant judgment microscope.

Their jobs are never on the line and their is no realmconsequence. Clark is a nice person and business minded and that's the difference and media trained clearly. Also wnba players need too work onmtheir game and get off Twitter because between missed layups and open shots combined with horriblemform the majority of the wnba players aren't elite. Furthermore it's time for her to have own personal vacation away from all the social media drama surrounding her that's actually been perpetuated without her consent. Note! It's not an issue whether or not you're a fan of hers, but do you really see her worrying or making interviews or statements? No. Her other colleagues have already completed their exit interviews for the year. Sure she wants to spin time with her family now and for all negativity to stop🛑 Pretty sure she wants everyone else to enjoy what excitement and talent the WNBA playoffs offers. Whether or not you are an old or new fan, you'll make the conscious decision to watch the WNBA as you would any other sport.

    I think a lot of people make the mistake of thinking that other WNBA players dislike Caitlin Clark or that African Americans dislike Caitlin Clark. Real basketball fans like great basketball players regardless of race or nationality. That goes back to Larry Bird, Jason Williams, Dirk Nowitski etc. The argument for most people hasn’t been against CC, but the way everything surrounding her is being handled. For ex: I’m from the same hometown as Kelsey Mitchell. Kelsey could ball out in a game but Caitlin could shoot 2-10 from three and all the headlines would be about the two threes that CC made. That’s the problem. CC doesn’t control what’s going on around her but unfortunately there are some who do blame her. Just like CC never complained about Angel, but other people attacked Angel on CC’s behalf. A lot of people believe other WNBA players should shut up and dribble in hopes of making more money because of CC but those players also play for glory. Also to earn a bigger contract, one has to have their play noticed by their peers, media, fans etc. So again, Caitlin isn’t the problem and I personally believe that any hate she receives is just in defense of others.

She won't leave the league, she is too competitive and she will play in the league until she 1) gets hurt badly 2) wins multiple championships or 3) gets too told to be the best. Another thing that a lot of the so called CC fans don’t realize is disrespecting the opposing African American players on behalf of Caitlin hurts the African American players on her team as well. Calling a young woman a ni**er because you are upset about a call is eye opening to players like Mitchell and Boston who play alongside Caitlin. Also if the Fever lose a game or series, CC fans rush to blame everyone besides her and that includes her teammates.
