Initially social media can be fun & exciting but ultimately it can add weight to whatever baggage a player may have. Robin "The burden of expectation " is an incredibly powerful statement.

I've been a UConn BB supporter for over 50 years. Geno has lost his way. He no longer seems to be inspiring his players, teasing out the best they can be, but instead controlling them which dampens down their spirit and fosters doubt. BB, to a large degree, is mental which makes it an easy thing to muck up, especially when ego is in the driver's seat.

I agree he set in his ways.. U need to let them play a to man game, call more plays for Pagie.. Stop playing everybody can shoot anywhere, make it a Pagie offensive.. Just saying he’s not going to do that..

Whether subconsciously or not Geno's comments about Caitlin Clark not being ready to dominate the WNBA in her rookie season could be prescient for Paige Bueckers first year in the WNBA.

Paige is a great player. But people don’t take in account the ACL injury. Players lose explosiveness after an injury like that. She is not the same as her freshman year, but she is still better than 95 percent out there.

The talent level is way higher than during the Taurasi/ Sue Bird era. There is NO WAY that Taurasi would win 4 championships if she was playing today.

Its easy to win a champ when there is only a couple of teams that were competition. In the NHL Toronto won 5 in a row, but I believe there were only 4/8 teams. Now there is over 26 teams. BTW Paige has been sold as better than CC. That is a huge bill to fit. Especailly when paige is currently older than CC

Watched Yukon's last three "big" games so far this year..she is clearly not the same player she was before her injury..seems to me she's more concern about getting hurt again instead of just letting her game happen. The way she is built right now physically, I don't think she could take the "physicality" of wnba, looks like she'll break in pieces if given HALF of the hacks CC received. I don't think she'll be pick first on the draft, which may be better for her; she'll fit well with LA though (2nd pick), hopefully not in Chicago (3rd pick)//

Robin agree with most of your analysis. What different is players like DT and CC are going to make their own shot and take it. All it means is Paige is a different type of player. Paige has to play her own game. Let her skills do that talking for her. Handling all the scrutiny and judgment from fans, coaches, and media besides trying to win a Championship, takes a really strong, mental strong person. Add on the NIL requirements and the pressure is overwhelming. Paige is a great player. She needs to shut out the noise and just be Paige. Make the decision to play your game. Dont worry about the Championship or draft. Just play basketball. 🌺🏀

Paige has lost the x-factor that she had earlier in her career. No killer instinct. Listen to her comments to the press after either of the two losses. She's simply going through the motions, like on the court. Sad. I hope she can find the magic again.

Paige has some accountability too. She let the NIL money get to her. She needs to hit the gym, she looks way to skinny and Geno’s dinosaur system is not conducive to Paige and her skill set.

There is no reason to really doubt UConn’s ability to get to the final four this year. Forget Azzi. Let’s talk about Aubrey. She is supposed to come back in a few weeks. And she is the most athletic player on the team. And the best defender on the team. And she could have helped against both Notre dame and against USC. UConn can use the easy big east schedule to experiment and get healthy. Meanwhile, their rivals will get worn down in conference play (except South Carolina).
Paige. We just need to re-evaluate her. She is not as good as Caitlin Clark. She won’t win national player of the year. And she doesn’t belong on the UConn Mount Rushmore. She gets outplayed by too many other players for any of those things. But she is still a very good player. And if Sarah strong continues to get better. I feel good about UConn’s final four chances.

History has taught us that UConn will be fine. The fanbase wets the bed every time they lose big games, even when the team was down to 6-8 players due to injury in recent years, they complained. Again, not one NCAA championship has been won in December. There are still 3 months to go. This is a team full of freshman and sophomores save for Paige, Aubrey, Kaitlyn & Azzi and they are still developing. Azzi is starting tomorrow and Aubrey will return later in January. Quoting the fraud Aaron Rogers "Everybody RELAX" 😆
