Beautifully videod. A friend and I did a recce of the route last year from each end then walked it as our first club hike of 2025 on the 11th jan. Nice viewpoint we cleaned up bit on the recce but 48 of us didn’t go up there on the walk day 😂. Camping up there must have been an experience. I’m paranoid about losing my mic! I stuck bright yellow fluorescent plastic on everything tiny and black to stand a chance of finding things again 😂
Ohhh beautiful views , I felt like I was there 😊 I’ve done a wee bit of that area years ago and it’s always so amazing to see it. Awww our fur babies are creatures of habit 😂 my border terrier is the same a little grumpy boy ❤ thanks for sharing 🥰
Hi Linda, what a great video and a cracking spot. Always looking for localish inspiration and that's a great one. Some amazing views. See you out there soon ! A
You sipping a Jura with that view in front reminded me of a night many years ago at the Inn at Inverbeg, when I spent more on malt than I did on dinner... You definitely got the better view! 🥃😁
Another very good video and camping at this time of the year can be cold, sunset and sunrises can be a bit confusion some time,he he he, I see other overnight campers with dogs that have little doggy bivey bags and seem to be quite happy in them Many thanks again Linda for showing us another part of Scotland
@@brendanhynes473 thanks Brendan. I’ve tried a Ruffware sleeping bag before & she didn’t like it. She has the Ruffware insulated mat, equafleece & a blanket which helps. She seemed toasty. 👍
Hi Linda I've just found your channel great vid and now got another back catalog of vids to get through lol good old you tube!. I've had the Abisko 1 for 3 years now. I hiked the south west coast path and wales coast path back to back. 8 months I spent in that tent. Made it through some horrendous storms never let me down once! hope you enjoy yours as much as i do mine. All the best take care be well.
Some lovely skies they really ad don't they. From the user reviews, seems the abisko lite 1 and 2 have a very high satisfaction rate. Something I struggle with camping generally is the claimed pitching times. So often, it's 8 min or less. But when I am on real terrain in real available light, people would scoff at my times. I assess the ground water level, soil, and stone with a peg first. Then I have to adjust the angle a few times for tail precisely into the forecasted wind. Then its racing around the tussock and uneven surface assembling it. And finally I always use extra long guylines and several extra pegs for security. So when I compare myself with typical reported times, I wonder what am I doing wrong! Can I be the only one? Thanks for posting.JMO
Thank you, it took me quite a while but just inexperience. My biggest concern is jaggy stones, pine cones or anything else that can puncture the groundsheet. Takes me a while to clear them all. 👍
Hope you enjoyed your camp Linda and you weren't to cold and hope you liked your new tent, do you not think the Hilleberg Soulo might have been a better tent for size, I think it would have given you more headroom and a bit more space for Brora although slightly heavier.
Great video..I recently bought a Vango Radon f10 for wild camps and was looking for local options to try it out (haven't wild camped yet but been at plenty of campsites). This is a local hill for me so definitely an option for me to try. Views looked amazing - I've only been up there in the cloud 😂
Thank you, enjoy ☺️ I met a local who litter picks every day there. He said the views from Gouk hill are better. Might try there myself another time. Thanks for watching. 👍
Linda, can I urge you to pitch your tent on an exterior footprint piece of plastic sheeting, cheap as chips to buy, double it up as well, it will prolong the life of ur internal ground sheet. Fab vid.
Beautiful views 💙🏴 just shows you don't have to go too far to enjoy spectacular scenery ✨️ can I ask how tall you are Linda, thinking of getting a new back packing tent and wondered as you said you were a little cramped for space in this one ? Great video really enjoyed it. The jet boil stash looked great too 👍
It’s a great tent but I’ve deliberately avoided camping when it’s too windy. Probably being over anxious 😬 Tunnel tents are much more wind stable. I also find it a bit draughty (door half mesh) and you have to pitch very quickly to avoid the inner getting wet in heavy rain. I will still use it though especially in Summer. It is a 3 season tent though. Hope that helps but it’s just my opinion and it must be one of the most popular tents for a reason. Thanks for watching. 👍

Well done! This is literally one of our local walks! When me and dad go up here, we call where you camped "christmas tree viewpoint". Good video ❤
