I live in a small town with only ONE grocery store. We do have CVS and a crappy Wal*Mart. But no options to compare prices or ads. The nearest larger city is 100 miles away. You are correct, never go to the older women. They will argue about every coupon and want to look through the sacks to make certain you bought it. They also do not want to take a coupon if the picture doesn't look exactly like the package, even though the coupon states on any variety.
Recent changes at our Kroger chain store is that you are no longer allowed to do more than one transaction. And, add in that you are only allowed up to 5 like coupons and 2 internet printed coupons. Still doable, but just takes more time. Walmart also has put in force the one transaction thing as well.
Their is one older lady cashier at my Kroger and she is really sweet. She only even looks at the coupon if it beeps, otherwise you could use 100 of the same coupon and she would just keep scanning. All she does is check for the barcode.
to address the manuf coupon, usually it will let you print twice, just use your back button, if you try printing more than this it will tell you max allowed has been reached. if you really wanted 4, I sometimes use my husband's info, but this wastes alot of ink so I only do this if I am sure I will use it.
I agree with you about old lady cashiers. I had a 65 year old lady cashier and one battery that cost $1. I also had a $1 off coupon. She took out her reading glasses to read the coupon. It took a long time for her to read every single word. People in line was getting impatient that I was holding up the line. I was getting impatient too, but she finally scanned the coupon. It scanned and took off $1 so I just had to pay tax. Next time, I will pick a younger cashier.
I liked this, but just a few questions: 1. How much was the cheese originally priced at? 2. What was your order total BEFORE coupons? 3. You only needed 1 store-ad coupon for the cheese, but did you need 4 individual manufacturer's coupons? If yes, did you print those all offline? All the online coupon sites I've found only let you print one coupon per person.
Thank you I've been trying to find a video where they show u how to coupon in action rather den just talking and you both really helped out a beginner coupon
I have been using coupons for years when my husband and I got laid off at the same time I stepped it !! Coupons have saved us a ton and we were able to buy a new car!! Woohoo!! We are back to work but I won't stop clipping ever!!
why would anyone say anything negative about using coupons!?!? i dont understand i work a lot, single, does anyone have some good resources as far as a place to start? maybe a comprehensive "beginners guide"?
Hi Sonja. I live in a really small town with a CVS & a crappy WalMart too, what a coincidence.......LOL. We also get very few & sometimes NO coupons in the Sunday paper. I was just wondering, what have you found to be the best way to get the coupons you really want & need? I've almost given up on couponing because of this. I could really use some inspiration & direction right now. Kelly :)
Thanks for the tips! I was wondering though, I have a tena coupon I got by mail. It says up to 7$ off does this mean if I buy a 5$ item it will be free or will I get 2$ overage??
Ok, so a Catalina is an instant in store coupon? Because I understood on the "Exteme Coupon Walmart" series, a Catalina was a specific product, specifc price, specific brand. Can someone explain a Catalina??
be careful with the 1's that say 10 for 10 or simmilar as sometimes fine print says you hsve to buy 10 for discount. my local krogers curently hss mix abd match 10 deal abd the add explaims must buy 10 participating items to get the deal.
Secondly I'll try to keep your advice in mind while I'm doing my best to NOT spend money, needlessly hoarding and stockpiling. I'll leave creating false trends in supply and demand in your capable hands. After all I'll need to save as much as possible if I'm going to afford the prices people like you are driving the market to. Thanks for the chat, much nicer than most of the demeaning antagonistic self righteous babble coupon heads berate me with while trying to insist I'm beneath them.
I've been watching all the latest video series by you ladies. I agree with most of what was discussed in this video, but I respectfully disagree with your cashier profiling. One of my favorite cashiers at my favorite grocery store is an older lady. She never gives me a hard time about coupons and always cheerful and helpful. On the other hand, there is this one young guy at my local Walgreen's who is THE WORST!
Thanks for the video! Note to couponers, if you clip or rip out coupons at the register, hand the cashier crumpled coupons mixed with trash, or a bunch of coupons for things you didn't purchase you will not only irratate the cashier helping you, but also all of the other cashiers (they will talk about you & point you out on your later trips). Why should this matter? They can make sure your coupons will not scan and to generally make the couponing experience a rotten thing. Be kind & organized!
Lol you guys generalization is so true I was a cashier last summer and I'm a young female and I would pay close attention. Lol I use to love to say aww sorry but um yeah you can't use this lmbo
If you had opened your ears, you would have heard that she said that it's important to ALWAYS follow the rules even if they miss it. I DON'T agree with your views and I don't do ANYTHING backhandedly and DON'T subvert! I'll tell you EXACTLY what I think and don't EVER doubt that. The businesses outline a policy for a REASON. They are NOT stupid. If they wanted to stop it, then they are smart enough to make it policy. If you don't like what is contained in these videos, then DON'T WATCH!
I stack dog food coupons all the time at winn* Dixie. as well with their spen $55. and get $5.00 off to so I saved $33.70 off my whole order. so I do most of my shopping at winndixie.
Using coupons is a good idea but to stock pile like that it is all dead food, would'nt it make sense to grow a garden and learn how to can your own food, be much healthier I would think, all food past the produce section is dead food with no nutritional value except maybe frozen veggies and fruits.
So is wasting peoples time, depending on the government, and taking advantage of and misusing promotions that were not meant to be manipulated. It's also immature to be a hypocrite and contradict oneself, with your well thought out reply you attempted to insult me by calling me a sad person and immature (back handed name calling). Perhaps you agree with my views, but just found me immature; we won't know because you didn't bother debating your opinion, rather you choose to subvert, ha! COUPONER!
First of all, I'm using YOU as a generality: meaning YOU coupon users. How could I know if you have children, or are on WIC? So yes, you're right to find it hard to believe I would imply that. Congratulations. As for some cashiers bad habits, maybe that comes from dealing with numerous tight wads wasting the time and energy of everyone in line and behind the register, causing stress and abusing a privilege, then insulting and belittling workers who are there often as a 2nd or 3rd job.

also, sometimes you can clear your cache to print again, but this only works sometimes..

Ok, so a Catalina is an instant in store coupon? Because I understood on the "Exteme Coupon Walmart" series, a Catalina was a specific product, specifc price, specific brand. Can someone explain a Catalina??
Some are for a specific item and some are for your entire purchase it all depends
You paid 20 but how much did you save?
be careful with the 1's that say 10 for 10 or simmilar as sometimes fine print says you hsve to buy 10 for discount. my local krogers curently hss mix abd match 10 deal abd the add explaims must buy 10 participating items to get the deal.

Pumpkin seed? :D
being bigot is to be general, my mom is like that. She once was watching food channel on hot dogs. and called the Americans food as stupid.
Great video, and always remember there is room for improvement!

Yeah it's basically just hoarder mentality
This is why people are missing using coupons because of these videos. I hope one day they just get rid of coupons.
