The most important thing to remember is that... Raincutter is a true friend. :) And my, was this village beautiful. All the Spirited Away vibes and the misty mountains in the background were a dream. I'm really looking for the post town walk, too. ♥
I can’t believe I never watched this! I’ve been waiting for a rainy day walk, and discover today that there’s been one here waiting for me! Thank you, Norm! Such a peaceful, beautiful walk for my morning.
Awesome livestream as always Norm. Rainy day walks through a small mountain village are so incredibly relaxing. Thanks for letting us come along with you on these adventures.
Life has its ups and downs, essentially right now, but these videos are reminding me why Japan is such an intricate part of my being. I am not sure how Japan will be part of my future. I appreciate you taking the time to share these moments and Japan in the interim. Thank you! Take care!
NORM! I remembered it! Thanks for showing us that most important thing! Also, way to go with that secret canal-side path. I think that was the best single moment of exploring I've caught on this trip. So much fun!
19:31 I am truly digging these stairs down to the walkway. The way everything is always just right off the path or road, making the most of available space, has been/is a favorite thing for me. As I see the underside of these buildings it makes me think of the other video where you were telling us about landslide areas and permits and floating parking areas on stilts. Crazy.
You really make me wish I was in Japan again. I'm filled with a big sense of なつかしい watching you explore. Before you'd said where you were, I said to my husband "it reminds me of Gujo Hachiman". Thanks for showing us a town in Gifu-ken that we haven't been to yet.
finally getting to catch up on the ends of the journey - and this is, again, one of my favorites! rainy walks with steamy mountains. absolutely in love with this one. thanks for taking us along again! i hope you are getting some rest after all the traveling!~ per one of your questions -- favorite place i went when i visited japan: a little ehole-in-the-wall sushi bar tucked away in an alley way of the tsukiji fish market beck in 2008. the sushi chef was such a serious but totally sweet character. it was my first time there when i was 15. haven't been back since i was 19 (i'm 31 as of yesterday lol, so it has been a WHILE). i was hoping to go back for our honey moon in 2022, but alas, they were not yet open to tourists. still planning to go.... hopefully sooner than later! thanks for letting me vicariously live through your exploration!
I still can't get over how crystal clear that river is. Or that one tree in the mountains out behind the train station. It seemed to stand tall and alone only back lit by the fog wending behind it on the mountainside. Truly a magical vista. These rainy morning expeditions seem like the pierce the veil into a secret world. Personal, private. Full of a sort of mystique that just captures the imagination. I love it. And as always, thank you.
Oh my goodness! I just discovered this channel 🤗 I love the vibes of the community. Everyone is so friendly ❤ Norm, you are one of the nicest people. Your sweetness and kindness are incredibly heartwarming and inspiring. I love how you talk to the birds and pilons. I do things like that all day long! You're very sweet. I was listening to you in the car earlier, and I began to cry because of how sweet you were being. My heart melted, and I could feel the warm hearts of the community opening up. It's so incredible. Thank you! Thank you for being kind, generous, honest, and genuine. I never really wanted to go to Tokyo. I hated how busy and tech it felt. But after seeing the back streets and listening to all the little things you point out and how delighted they make you, I've started to look at things differently. Not just for Japan but in my own world. Beautiful! Namaste and blessings to you all ❤❤❤
I put these streams on in the background while studying or drawing, but then I get so distracted by how beautiful everything is and end up just watching haha. This is such a lovely town, especially in the rain😍
Thanks for another phenomenal stream Norm.... What a beautiful little town.. the mountains with mist, rain drizzling,..all of it was breathtakingly beautiful... Never been a photo person but this made me want to take a few... will miss this series of videos when its all done.. What an exciting time..Rain cutter has had it rough.. through all this lol
You find gems to introduce us to and I am always so thankful for the gorgeous villages, mountains and countryside you take us through. I absolutely am a fan of the rainy videos, the ambiance is so relaxing ( just do not slip and fall! ) This is true ASMR energy. Thank you again for another awesome video, I am so sad I missed the live stream!
Loved the Stream, the Town was fascinating and the Walk in the Rain relaxing and peacfull. I would not want to live in the Houses right above the water they looked like they could fall in the water any Minute now. Would Love to see a walk through one of the old Post towns or other places with a rich History.
I watch it at +7 timezone and its right 8.30AM here when the chime on video ring. kind of woke spoked me up a little. anyway nice morning rain, I love having small creek like that around my house someday.
A fantastic stream! Loved seeing more of this prefecture. Excited to hopefully see Narai-Juku in the next stream or anywhere on the Nakasendo trail! Really would like to visit on a future trip.
This rain video is soothing, Norm--loved the frog karaoke--kudos to your faithful companion "rain cutter"--embodiment of your own heroic persistence in the face of all challenges in production of these marvelous works of art--Yay!! and Thanks --Merlyn (ATX)
Thanks for another lovely walk. But really, watching these makes planning my holiday so much more difficult 😁, cause I want to add more places all time. Now it looks like I will have to do a little detour on the way from Gero to Tsumago 🤔😆
What a cute town, bird sounds, lanterns, zoomies, alleyways and fog, Froggy friend and rain cutter ! I look forward to the Post town vid and you definitely need to come to Tasmania! Keep up the good work and thank you again for another awesome video. Cat
I just love all the exploration and natural beauty you provide us with, Norm. Thank you! And since you explore so often in the bear country, you might have heard of Karelian Bear Dogs? Picchio Wildlife Center (I think you mentioned Karuizawa in this video?) has KBDs and they do great work in teaching wildlife and humans to coexist. It would be cool to see you covering that issue in one of your awesome videos.
The rainy days truly are the best streams of this wonderful adventure! Wish I was able to catch more streams but the ones I have been able to were wonderful and calming and just a treat to enjoy in the moment. Can't wait to meet you in Amsterdam! Also shoutout to raincutter for holding on for as long as they have and allowing us to keep enjoying hearing the rain falling onto them
Another one of those towns I need to drop the little yellow google guy down into and just start walking around. Just like the end of the video, the most important thing is
Thanks again Norm for such a wonderful and magical adventure 😀 things that made me wonder - do the people receive postal mail? I don't recall seeing letter boxes. All the mazes of alleys and streets I don't recall seeing any street signs. Does each house have a number? I don't recall seeing any. Poor pedestrians with not one footpath provided, playing dodgems with the cars. Just odd things that pop into one's head. Thanks again ❤ love from Australia 🦘❤
Another great watch, those side paths going below the houses were not what I expected! I may be cheating the secret endings but I will be aware for the Narai-juku stream! ;)
thanks for the streams i probably will never see japan or go anywhere overseas just too poor but i get to view it through you and others i watch and it works ... also walking is not something i can do much of and it seems to be getting worse since 2021 so sigh but i love watching you do the walks... and everything you do on tokyo lens as well...
That was another super fun and sooo beautiful walk ! The creek exploring reminded me of my town, only 1000 times cooler ^-^ Love creeky towns ♡ I'm unable to go exploring because of health stuff so I wanted to try to express how awesome your whole 1,000,000 seconds roadtrip has been, it's like I got to go on summer vacation ♪ So fun while I'm stuck at home. So, thank you for bringing all of us along (*'▽'*) ! Stay safe ! Looking forward to tomorrow too ☆彡
Norm, have you ever played the classic PS2 Japanese horror game Siren? By the end of the game the town it takes place in transforms into a very similar conglomerate of ‘diy’ buildings like this town. Now I see where they got reference for it, very cool!
Already got my 2025 Shikoku adventure pretty much planned, but now it seems I need to start looking at a 2026 adventure around Gifu prefecture. Hopefully it’s doable without a car because Japan’s narrow mountain roads terrify me lol 😂
Thanks for the stream norm, I don't know if I am banned in your stream but for some reason I couldn't chat in your live chat. But your gimbal was in pov mode because of which the gimbal was wobbling left and right the entire stream, I just wanted to say that
amazing how you won't get noticed by those house owners and they would ask you to go away from the backyard of their property... hehehe. I've watched a video of some rookie Kpop idol walking and vlogging at a residential area at night, one of the house owner just opens the window and yelled at the idols, asking them to keep quiet and the boys wasn't even really loud. HAHAHA
The most important thing to remember is that... Raincutter is a true friend. :) And my, was this village beautiful. All the Spirited Away vibes and the misty mountains in the background were a dream. I'm really looking for the post town walk, too. ♥
I love those houses built over the drainage ditch/river.
@49:00 I have never wanted to go up and down stairs so much in my life.
Absolutely living for these rainy streams. I always JUST miss the lives but am very thankful for playbacks so I can watch while I'm crocheting 😅
I can’t believe I never watched this! I’ve been waiting for a rainy day walk, and discover today that there’s been one here waiting for me! Thank you, Norm! Such a peaceful, beautiful walk for my morning.

this month has been great for your longer videos
Loved this whole trip you have been doing. hope to catch your next one live!
Yea ready for the next walk! Or whatever will happen. Just stsrted it.
Dang I missed the live, time to catch up :D
I only was once in japan and only in Tokyo. I loved to just walk around and see the city. I need to come back and see more of japan.
1:30:27 Not me screaming to my phone ”Noooo, not yet!” Glad you continued to the woods. ❤
Missed the livestream but will catch the replay. I know it will be enlightening. as always.
This walk reminds me of a game I played years ago that I loved called Xenogear.
This is my favorite video on your channel.
Nothing better than watching Norms streams while having teriyaki chicken wok for lunch. Man I love the rainy day vibes in Japan.

beautiful rain ☔
lol, I don't know if the bear was severe or the warning was. classic
He actually did it.
Ooooooh, thise is the best yet. these old backstreets are so nostalgic looking.
I think this has been my favorite steam of this adventure so far. Super excited to see tomorrow’s post town.
Loved when Norm got the zoomies while going after the train 😂

Of the places I've visited so far nothing beats Enoshima.

I always remember the Japanese anime about crows where the crow says stupid stupid
Thank you, Norm☔☔☔😁
Loved the walk!
This would be great to see with no rain

I didmt know I needed this today until I started watching it.
The only place i would love to be lost at ❤😂
Another great watch, those side paths going below the houses were not what I expected!
I may be cheating the secret endings but I will be aware for the Narai-juku stream! ;)

Rainy streams are the best. Wandering into a forest and ending the stream was mean. I want the forest content 😂
Thanks for this amazing tour, but you seriously could have bought some tape to make a new handle for that umbrella. It'd be more comfortable.
Did anyone else find the morning announcement eerie?
I dropped my mustard in the mud yellow xD
I want to visit Studio Ghibli so very much
I was walking alongside the bath houses from Spirited away..expecting to get swarmed by little spiders

The rain was nice, it just sucks that it can damage technology
I think the gimble is just jealous of Raincutter🤔
This gimble had me at times thinking drunk dude POV, but no tripping and stumbling.
Already got my 2025 Shikoku adventure pretty much planned, but now it seems I need to start looking at a 2026 adventure around Gifu prefecture. Hopefully it’s doable without a car because Japan’s narrow mountain roads terrify me lol 😂
Hi Norm just wondering have you been to Mt. Nokogiri before and any plans of going there? 😊
Damn norm running that speed carrying that weight how the hell are you not on a team
Ah, OK, this is not the one I missed big chunks of, did want to post compliments, though. :)
reminds me of STRAY the cat game
Thanks for the stream norm, I don't know if I am banned in your stream but for some reason I couldn't chat in your live chat. But your gimbal was in pov mode because of which the gimbal was wobbling left and right the entire stream, I just wanted to say that

hello what time is it when you are filming thank you
Did he really just ended it at the most important part??
Why are all the umbrellas in Japan clear? Lol
very nice videos. could be better with a little music in the background and maybe not so much talking.
Then watch something else lol
You’re definitely not welcome here
The audio for this is a bit low at 50% volume, had to crank up to 100% and get heart attacks from my notification volume
You’re welcome for the video
