Blue water hunting would not be the same if it were not for one man. This legend and father of blue water hunting is none other than Dr Terry Maas.
In the 80’s Terry was a multiple US National champ and for a decade was part of the USA spearfishing team.
By the 90’s Terry had turned his attention to the art of blue water hunting. He pushed the envelope on what fish could be taken with a speargun. And it was not long before Terry was breaking massive world records.
By the late 90’s Terry’s accomplishments were legendary, and in a time before the internet his books and videos became the blue water spearfishermans bibles.
His books laid out from A-Z what Terry had learnt, laying the foundation for hunting massive trophy fish. His films inspired and opened up the awesome world of freedive spearfishing to thousands of people.
Today Terry has hosted TV programs, and lead the way in freedive videography with his footage used in productions world wide. He still continues to innovate with inventions like the freedive recovery vest.
Terry still dives and shoots incredible fish he is a pioneer and a legend who paved the way for a whole new breed of spearfisherman. Its because of him spearfishing is what it is today. - กีฬา

I had my first encounter with a white seabass just in 8ft deep water off the shore. I heard the noises you described In this video. They came in from afar to check me out, swooping in swiftly and stopping abruptly in front of me. Then after a split second they finished their analysis of me and took off just as fast as they came. What a sight!

i like what terry said about spearfishing with tanks and he is right using tank is no spearfishing more like going shopping to the supermarket next door where i come from (southern france) you are not allowed to use tanks and most of spearos would not like to use them even if they were allowed to the sound travels fast underwater with all your scuba diving equipment fishes can hear you come a mile away
