You could add a shower curtain above your head on the foldout door where the unit is stored, add Velcro to fold it in place and you could probably mount the shower head on it, get a new shower head for better water consumption.
That's almost exactly what I'm thinking I'll do if I keep trying to dial in the hot shower setup. But I'm hoping Amie will just give up on it and except cold showers 🤫 don't tell her you figured it out 😉
If you are looking for a setup that saves water yiu you should check out the geyser showers you heat some water with your stove and it uses a sponge on the end of the hose that helps save water
You should look into a Yakima Road Shower. It uses the sun to heat water; is permanently mounted on your camper and is easy to pressurize with an air pump. I bought one for my Ambo conversion but haven’t installed it yet.
@@TheTravelingTogetherJournal check this out as well. I have one to go along with the Yakima Road Shower. OVERLAND SHOWER TENT BLACK EDITION -DFG OFFROAD
Ive been using a Camplux nano 3 pro portable water heater for a month now for 2-3 day camping trips. I could imagine something like that would be a bit more portable with a few refillable 1 pound propane tanks. Thanks for the content 👍
Look into the KickAss Deluxe suite + shower wand/pump + roll up floor. I purchased this whole system and found it works great. I heat 2 gallons of water on my backpacking stove in about 7 mins to a very comfortable temp around 103°F in a stainless bucket. The shower pump/wand will get you a shower over 5 mins with 2 gallons if you stop the water during soap and scrub.
I just hooked it up to the pressurized water system on my camper, so no additional pump needed. If you don't have a pressurized water system you could concider this product: camplux.com/products/camplux-off-grid-portable-water-heater-for-rv-trailer-camper-black It's the same style waterheater but comes with a pump that can suck water out of a jerrycan or bucket to supply the shower. The discount code, TRAVELTOGETHER should give you 10% off that product too.
I'm with you. Amie would like a hot shower, so when they offered me one I figured I should at least give it a try, but too much hassle for me to consider it practical for our use.
On my truck I used a stainless steel heat exchanger.I pull the heat off the engine to heat my hot water. No propane no mess no fuss works great
Sounds interesting
This video was very helpful THANKS

I've tried other solar heated showers before without success, but they were not permanently mounted ones. I'll look into it. Thanks

Game changer!
Hey Matt, Great review mate you always go above and beyond! Whats that scar? looks like a shark had you in its jaws 😬
thanks
heart surgery. Shark is a better story 😜
Do you need a separate pump for this
I just hooked it up to the pressurized water system on my camper, so no additional pump needed.

I have the same unit and the shower head leaks. Any suggestions on a good replacement that works with this system?
sorry, no. I never tried to solve the problem
That’s a pretty elaborate test…but it’s too much setup for my taste. Been using a solar shower for many years. Ok if sunny or I have to go smelly.

The kink in the green hose can’t be good
