I was nervous for you at the start of it, but wow it does look really great with the gray siding! I'm impressed, just might have to do our red brick house with that stain. Great job, it totally transformed your house!
I like it. And another good thing is that stain leaves it pourous and you can add mortor if you like for contrast. I plan on going over my red brick with a dark beige and brown combo, then going back and german smearing it with light beige mortor. I want a frosty beige/brown look, it goes great with soft brown trim and looks great with snow on it through the long winter.
Wow, that looks awesome. You guys made it look so much more appealing. Btw, the door color does make the whole thing pop. I really like the color combo! 💯👍
first off...you two are great! love the positive vibes. and the brick looks amazing!!!! I am in California so dont have harsh weather but seems like stain is the way to go! I've got brick on the bottom 1/3 of my house and im so ready for the stain!! Thanks for helping me decide - stain all the way !
Looks good only seeing this now in 2023 ...in the process of painting my red brick home in Australia ...would like to see updat of yours and if your still happy with it ❤
Thank you. I will try to take a picture later today. We are still very pleased with the result. No fading, or peeling or any wear at all. Looks the same today as when we did it.
Wow! That's awesome. You've definitely sold me on the idea of staining my bricks instead of painting them (which I dont know much about any of it, but a few people had suggested changing the color). Thanks so much for the video, I'm inspired now😊 What brand of stain did u use?
Here is what we used and where we got it: Here is a link to what we used. Found it at a local store and it was much less expensive than some kits we saw online. This was so scary to do, but we are extremely happy with it! A few years later now and there is NO WEAR at all! I'm shocked. No fading, peeling etc. Thank you so much for watching. Hi guys, I am looking at doing this project myself, thanks to your video, gives me courage and guidance to go for it. Amazing that there are no wear at all?? Wow. Would you be willing to do a quick follow up video to show what it looks like now? And any tips and pointers after the fact? Appreciate it!!!
if you colored the mortor of the bricks why didnt you spray it? I typically only see the brush method when you are leaving the brick mortar a seperate color? thanks!
Looks great we've got so many jobs we were going to do this summer but unfortunately not going to get it done so hopefully next year we will get it done x
Thank you so much! We are going to do an update video soon to show that there has been no wear or fading. We have the stain in our pinned comment on this video :)
We put a link to find it in the pinned comment on the video. It's not an affiliate link, just sharing. Looks just like it did the day we did it. Good luck!
It looks the same now as when we put it on! It looks great, we are very happy with it. We used the concrete stain and was worried about it first but it worked perfectly.
We used H&C ultra deep base concrete stain in black. Not sure the exact shade of black but definitely BLACK. We got it from Menard's for about $28 per gallon. Really happy with it and a lot cheaper than some of the kits you can buy.
,, at first this seems daunting, but with yr great determination and the consistency of the stain,, you made it real do-able,, it looks stunning ! It really does n the door is a fantastic shade, I like the stains natural appearance like black shale 😏🏆xx

We used H&C Concrete Solid Stain in satin. We got it from Menard's home improvement store. It is tintable so we got black but they had other colors as well.
The grey is siding and we considered everything. In the end, we love the accent. There is not much architectural interest on the front of the house so we really love the contrast.

When we started this, we thought that maybe we would just be doing the brick fronts and not the grout. We decided to go ahead and do it all when we were a little bit into the process. We don't have a paint sprayer and would have had to stop and go rent one. We don't have a huge amount of brick so it's either prep for the potential overspray with a sprayer or use the brush. I think that if our whole house needed staining, it would have been worth it for sure!

How is the stain holding up? I was thinking of staining my brick house with concrete stain. I just don't want to seal it. I want the brick to breathe

Did you not consider extending the cladding ? I assume the grey above is cladding as that's what it looked like

Did you guys use a concrete stain?
Looks awesome 😁
Yes we did. It was scary at first but really love the result!
Can this be sprayed?
It can, this was a smaller area so we didn't but if we were doing a larger area, we sure would!

2 coats did the job! Very pleased and looks just as good today as the day we completed it!

Wonderful could have use roller
The "how to" videos say not to do the grout and I see you attempted that at first but apparently it's really hard to do!
We weren't sure, but honestly it WAS A HUGE PAIN, but also we liked this look better.
I think it would have been easier spraying it.

You’re doing it completely wrong!
Years later and it still looks exactly the same. That's a win in our book!
Messed up a perfectly fine brick exterior. It was better before
Highly disagree! Plus it was scratched from bushes that had to be cut out and in pretty bad shape.
