Just watched your video Sunday 12/03/23 Norton, South Yorkshire England, thought it was brill, the finish looks great, i'm just getting some ideas of brick staining for when the summer eventually shows up, cant believe it was snowing here 2 days ago, like the white stands out, i'm looking at sprucing up a couple of drive way boundary walls with a red 'ish stain, so hopefully it will work as well as yours has done.
Hey Billy, thank you for your comment😊 Yes I loved this product and how the project turned out. The company warned me that I would need to repaint any areas that take a hit to constant moisture. I had to repaint the brick wall that runs along our driveway because of the winter snow. They had informed me that they were working on a sealer to add over these areas, but at the time was not available yet. I do plan on purchasing that for this area 😉
@Follow life with Amy Hi Amy, no problem, I guess in Canada you guys get real snow, anything here over 5 inches and the entire country comes to a standstill, anyway I'll maybe post the job when it's done, see what people think, if I go lighter ish to start, I can gradually darken the bricks, Cheers billy.
If I stained it white and then months or years later i wanted to stain it a different color what would I have to do to remove the original white stain color? Just stain over it ? Thank you! 🙏🏼
So I do have to redo the step area this summer because of the constant moisture of snow here in Iowa. The company did warn me this would happen in the areas where snow sits. They were in the process of releasing a sealer to help with this. I do plan on purchasing the sealer and redoing this area this summer
I've watched several videos comparing staining and painting brick - the main benefit of staining is that it doesn't peel or bubble because it get absorbed by the brick whereas paint lays on top of the brick.
Hey, Ada 😉 Great idea!!! I have had no chipping or fading. I did have to repaint the brick that runs along our driveway because of constant moisture on it from winters.
Amy your project turned out great! I do have a question on your product, what is the warranty for your Romabio? Is it lifetime by a chance? Most likely if they offer a certain "year" warranty, the product will peel, chip, and crack. Also, just to test your product out go dump some water on it and see if the brick takes it or if it runs! Romabio seals the brick!
Hey Baker - thank you for your comment. I do not remember their warranty, but it has held up pretty good. I do have to redo the brick wall along our driveway from the constant moisture of the snow here in Iowa. The company did warn me about this happening because of it being along a driveway. They were in the process of releasing a sealer to add over top of areas like this. I do plan to redo that section this summer and purchase the sealer.
I only used the Romabio which is a stain/paint. The term whitewash is because it is a very thin, watery paint that you can spay off giving a whitewash appearance.
I'm curious if you are replacing the windows fully or painting the trim black ? I want to know! I was reading you shouldn't paint the white vinyl black because it doesn't have the uv protection. But if you have a other idea I want to know.
@@yeahookk1 I've painted my vinyl siding (light brown) it does not peel or flake off. What it will do if you use any dark colors is warp badly as if melting. The heat will damage your house. Ask me how I know.
Hey Cody ~ So I painted them first with the 1.2.3 Primer from Menards in the grey tint. Most of the windows are wood, so I first scraped the old loose paint off. I am a huge fan of the 1.2.3 Primer as I have also used it for kitchen cabinets. The windows still look great with no chipping or peeling 😁
Wait this is a Limewash? Not an actual stain? There is an actual stain u can do on brick. I came across your video expecting to see staining to a brick. Because that is a thing and I’m trying to figure out what’s better between lime wash and staining. Which I clicked on your video trying to find a DIY tutorial on how to stain your brick. You might want to change your title since it’s a lime wash tutorial. Just saying.
Looks GREAT! 👍Looks like a new house. You did have a good vision for what it could be.
Huge improvement! 2 coats?

Hey Teresa - that is a good question. I am not sure the answer to that. I would reach out to the company and check with them
How did the brick stairs hold up? Curious if traffic would peel it off or make it slippery

Thompson water seal work well on mines. I simply bought several of the spray cans and it works like a charm.

What size brush are u using watch from Louisville , Kentucky
was one container of the Romabio enough for your whole project? Did you have to go back and re spray the brick with water ?
Hey Daisy ~ YES just one container and no I did not spray it off because I wanted more of the solid white look
Terms you used included whitewash, stain and paint. Which is it?
I only used the Romabio which is a stain/paint. The term whitewash is because it is a very thin, watery paint that you can spay off giving a whitewash appearance.
Any updates on the house??
Great job
thank you Cathryn
Do you have an updated video with the windows painted black?
Alison, I will take a look and try to post an updated photo. It turned out AWESOME and we are really happy with it
Hi! Did you do multiple coats?
Hey Rebekah 😊 I did 2 coats

painting plastic or vinyl is NOT good idea it will peel and flake over time
