    Amazing video, it’s the only one I found showing exactly what I wanted and on the same car, I have never done anything like this before, I done it all on my own in few hours, an as I am a single mum of 2 boys I love that they see me fix cars, bikes etc and been able to teach them. 🙏🏼
    So thanks you so much was a great help 🤩😍

      I got to the end of this how to, and thought, nope, one for the garage looks easy, but long winded... Saw your comment and you've convinced me I can do it, so I'm going to give it a go myself this weekend - thank you! Hopefully save myself a surprise repair bill 👍

    This looks like there's enough detail in this video to try it myself. I'm assuming that it is the same process, regardless of which ever door. It would be helpful if you could pop a list of the tools that you used in the description along with how long it likely to take. I'm guessing a couple of hours (for a non-mechanic ;) )

    • @main-tecrepair2000
      @main-tecrepair2000  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The two front doors of the Audi A3 would be the same.
      I would say it should be doable within 2-3hours for an able DIYer.
      The tools needed for the job are mainly Torx sockets, ratchet, T bars maybe be helpful along with a socket set.
      If you get stuck please feel free to contact and I will advise if needed.
      Many thanks

    Fantastic guide, I couldn't have done it without your help. But my motor is loose and not fully connecting to the cog. Can't tighten the three nuts any tighter and they are rounding. I don't know what to do. 😢

    • @main-tecrepair2000
      @main-tecrepair2000  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there if the bolts are rounding in the plastic housing unfortunately the best thing to do is replace this part.
      However if you are stuck a last resort would be a two pack glue mix as a temporary repair

    • @steve323f
      @steve323f ปีที่แล้ว

      @@main-tecrepair2000 I found out what was wrong yesterday. The mechanism came through the post with a cable/zip tie through the cog to prevent movement. So this restricted the motor going into the mechanism. I reached round the back, cut the tie, then used some weight and electric tools to get the rounded bolts into 0pace. Job done

    I changed mine yesterday, it was hard work lol. The third party regulator I got from GSF, when putting the door back in one of the screws wouldn't screw into the regulator bottom right, the 2 Torx 25 screws. The one nearer the hinge, the screw hole was too big. The screw could just be pushed in and out of it, so it couldn't be tightened. I had to leave that one out. Winding the window down seemed okay, but raising it up it seems stressed? abit slower/lounder like the motor is working hard. Id there anything I can do to adjust this?

    • @main-tecrepair2000

      Hi there the Audi in this video is 2008, however the process for changing the regulator is very similar and follows almost the same process

    Hi lee son has a 2007 a3 he put his drivers window down, but will only go back up to a inch which it does this really slow the window will not go up on the key, so do you think it could be the regulator if so could you tell me where you are as if close enough could we bring car to you also where did you got the replacement regulator from thanks for your help and time.

    • @main-tecrepair2000
      @main-tecrepair2000  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there the fault with the window only raising by an inch could possibly be an issue with the regulator however it’s tricky without seeing the car personally.
      Regulators and motors that power them have a resistance measurement taken and if exceeded the fault is registered and prevents the window raising to the closed position.
      I am located in Dorset.
      If you need any advice please feel free to message in the comments and I will do my best to reply asap.

    I'm still having issues with the swap. I noticed a crunch or clank sound when winding my window up or down, like something is tight and/or possibly clipping something else. I removed the speaker to get better access. However, the hole I can't get a screw into seems to have no thread whatsoever; the screw literally goes in and out without any resistance. It's a third party part from GSF, I'm wondering if it's faulty.
    I heard somewhere that there's an adjuster bolt by the speaker for the window/door frame, but I'm not sure if I should adjust that as I don't want the window popping out or cracking. Anybody have any advice?

    At what point should you cut the zip tie on the new regulator where the motor goes into? Thanks.

    • @main-tecrepair2000
      @main-tecrepair2000  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The zip tie can be removed once you are ready to locate the replacement regulator to the window motor.
      The system senses resistance on the upward and downward positions.

    was ok but you didnt show how to put the part that connects to the motor in??? i assume it just pops out when you depress the 2 lugs on each of the 3 parts that the 25mm hex goes in?? it looks like it could be a bit fiddly??

    • @main-tecrepair2000

      You are exactly correct there. The motor simply clicks off when the bolts are released. If you need any further information please let me know 👍

    My window has fallen through the door, pretty sure the regulator is fine, would I just follow the same process or what would I do?

    • @main-tecrepair2000
      @main-tecrepair2000  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The window falling through the door is most likely due to the cable snapping from the regulator.
      To be sure of this remove the door card and inspect this
