Robert E. Howard always insisted the the Ghost of Conan stood behind him late at night telling all the tales that Howard typed out to the point that he couldn't keep up with the stream of words. Imagine Robert E. Howard nodding to Conan as he typed while the music of Riddle of Steel plays softly in the backround. Magic!

"Crom, I have never prayed to you before. I have no tongue for it. No one, not even you will remember if we were good men or bad, why we fought, or why we died. No, all that matters is that two stood against many, that's what's important. Valor pleases you, Crom, so grant me one request, grant me revenge! And if you do not listen, then to hell with you!"

Excellent!! Basil Poledouris is one of my favourite composers and i undoubtedly believe that he was and will be one of the greatest Greek composers!! His film music score for "Conan the barbarian" is an opus and in my humble opinion could be compared with dramatic classical orchestral works (Orff, Holst, Sibelius...etc). Everything is marvellous in this soundtrack: composition, orchestration, the scenes of the movie come naturally to my mind due to his music expressiveness!!

In my opinion, he's been always a step ahead... :) Talented gentlemen like Williams, Zimmer and so on can make flawless and catchy music, but not raw like that. Not that wild, original and perfect in it's imperfection here and there. This masterpiece soundtrack presents another dimension.
