i wanted to try something out so i could get back into animating this summer so here's this animatic

i like to think that because Benrey can't die he just thinks of death as a type of sleep, and he seems to lack a certain level of awareness to some things, so he says the guard is just sleeping. this would also explain why he was willing to plan the ambush on Gordon, but still says he was trying to be his friend and seemed to be surprised when they cut Gordon's arm off

Fun fact, bubby didnt kill the security guard! In the actual game, the guard is like "I have a message for you-" and gets shot by an assassin. Bubby never fired his gun but at the time everyone thought he did. To make the video smoother, Wayne did some edits to make it look like Bubby did kill him. (I watched the behind the scenes stream)

It's true that he wanted to say to Gordon "SECURITY" though.
you can hear the silenced pistol firing sound from the black ops person right before the guard dies. only blackops people have the silenced handgun in the game

I just reached that part in the game myself, the guard was actually killed by one of the ninja ladies. For once the Science Team was actually innocent, Bubby's question was genuine. Gordon went on a rant when for once they didn't do it.
This summarizes the entire chaotic nature of the series.
With the helmet's shadow, Benry looks strangely adorable and it improves his character so much.

Fun fact: In the actual game he dies out of no where even if you don't shoot him. That's why their isn't a traditional gun shot sound.
He gets sniped by one of the assassins you fight in the next room, as a way to warn the player of what they're about to encounter.
I still come back to this laughing, it's so well animated, I love this scene. 😂
