I heard this on a podcast about dark web. It basically said most hackers/ hit men are scammers since they will take the money and not go through with the task due to the risk. The people that are looking for these services are the ones that are scary because they genuinely want to hurt someone sometimes in a sick and twisted way

They can't get it anywhere else (not as easily, anyways), so the price will be worth it to them. Even just making $1,000 by scamming a horrible person is better than risking further consequences for, idk, sending an actual dead body or something and being tracked, yourself.

There are tons of viruses specifically built for that. Someone can very much plant CSEM on your device via remote access. So yes. It can happen. And does happen. Which is why you don't click on suspicious links and make sure to protect your personal information.

As someone who regularly smokes weed, I’d def be skeptical just because it seems cheap. An ounce is usually around $200 at the cheapest I’ve bought. I live by the ny border, so I can actually go into a store and buy quality pot(technically you buy a sticker and get weed for free), even there an ounce is about $200. I’d be worried about it being either dirt weed or laced with something tbh
depends on where you live, where I am in Canada an ounce in the dispensary goes for around $100. More than that for top shelf, around $95 for the crappier stuff

You should balance your story with talk about the very necessary privacy uses of TOR sites, especially by reporters, whistleblowers and people living uder totalitarian tegimes, as well as the percentage of these sites that are scammers and honeypots. Also, a discussion of how police track and take down the real offenders on these sites would be helpful. The "dark web" sounds all scary until you know what it really is.
Note that although red rooms dont exist and you will never randomly run into a red room(not like you can randomly run into a dark web website anyways) they are still probably advertised and "sold" through the dark web even if they are not streamed through it

And, as a guy who was a mailman for years, your mailman is aware that it's highly likely that drugs go through mail undetected because of the concept of sanctity in mails. Getting caught is a federal crime though, so it's risky. Don't do it. In South korea, several men have been sentenced to prison because they ran websites comparable to red rooms. Some of the streams were displayed in secret places across Asia. So, I don't know other similar cases in other part of the world but these streams definitely exist.

The cannibal cafe was shut down because a man was murdered by another cannibal. The victim posted or answered someone's request on the site because he wanted to 'be eaten' and well...he got his wish. I think the killer cannibal's name was Armen Miewes or something, not sure of the spelling. They started chatting on cannibal cafe and ended up meeting in person for a 'date night' where one would be dined on and the other would be the 'diner', and the victim didnt care if he was going to die. When it came out what had happened the guy who started cannibal cafe shut down the site, I believe. I don't think anyone can still post on there, but it is probably still visible via the dark web.
was this the case in germany? im pretty sure they also went on a "date" and had sex before the other guy ate the dude that responded. it was a weird situation because it was consensual, so the case was iffy. but im glad the cannibal went to prison because the victim was clearly mentally unstable and suicidal. a strange situation.

While some people from the Cannibal Cafe forum were role-playing, there were some that really ate someone, like the Rotenburg cannibal who met up with a guy form the forum to eat him, which resulted in his death. As for the Red Rooms. While not the same, there was the Nth Room scandal in Korea sometime ago, were users participated in paid chatrooms to see people get tortured and blackmailed into doing nasty stuff to themselves, even minors. The main perpetrators were convicted, but it still scares me that stuff like this exists.

A theory I could get behind with Red Rooms on the dark web is that they might exist, but as pre-recorded videos and not live-streamed. The first time I heard of these rooms, I heard they're videos and not streams. There is literally anything and everything out there on the dark web, so I wouldn't be surprised if Red Rooms are real but with videos of torture instead of live streams. The ones running the torture could have a forum somewhere else where they let people suggest what torture methods to use on their victims, and record those methods for a new video. But I really hope I'm wrong

The Cannibal Cafe was a roleplaying website for fetishists. The "ads" aren't real, they're more like roleplaying profiles. There's not actually people being sold there. At least not as far as I've ever heard. Reading up on Armin Meiwes (An actual case of cannibalism, murder, whacky bedroom adventures and more!) brings to light a lot of info about The Cannibal Cafe, plus it's a crazy fascinating read!

I think the killer cannibal's name was Armen Miewes or something, not sure of the spelling. They started chatting on cannibal cafe and ended up meeting in person for a 'date night' where one would be dined on and the other would be the 'diner', and the victim didnt care if he was going to die. When it came out what had happened the guy who started cannibal cafe shut down the site, I believe. I don't think anyone can still post on there, but it is probably still visible via the dark web.

While not the same, there was the Nth Room scandal in Korea sometime ago, were users participated in paid chatrooms to see people get tortured and blackmailed into doing nasty stuff to themselves, even minors. The main perpetrators were convicted, but it still scares me that stuff like this exists.

A theory I could get behind with Red Rooms on the dark web is that they might exist, but as pre-recorded videos and not live-streamed. The first time I heard of these rooms, I heard they're videos and not streams. There is literally anything and everything out there on the dark web, so I wouldn't be surprised if Red Rooms are real but with videos of torture instead of live streams. The ones running the torture could have a forum somewhere else where they let people suggest what torture methods to use on their victims, and record those methods for a new video. But I really hope I'm wrong
