First Start Lars Rebuilt Q-Jet

First start on a recently rebuilt Quadrajet rebuilt and tuned by Lars Grimsrud. This is the correct # carb for the LS-5 '72 w/automatic trans. The only adjustments I made later were to adjust idle when in drive, and slightly enrich the mixture screws by 1/2 turn each.

A stock Rochester Quadrajet? You don't see many of those around anymore. Usually, many of the engines, mostly small and big block Chevys have either Edelbrock or Holley carburetors.

Q-Jets are really under appreciated. They have been bad-mouthed due to poor tuning and lack of understanding on how they operate. Lars Grimsrud in Colorado is a master at rebuilding these to perform flawlessly.
