- I tried the tape technique on a sticker and… yes, you can remove the white borders!⠀
⠀
So cool in a junk journal 🌟⠀⠀⠀⠀
What do you think??😃⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀
STEPS:⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀
🌺put clear tape on the sticker ⠀⠀⠀
🌺soak in water for a few minutes ⠀⠀⠀⠀
🌺scratch away the paper⠀⠀⠀⠀
🌺dry it with a towel⠀⠀⠀
🌺now the tape has the image on it and you can apply where you want (it’s still sticky!) ⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀
…and you have a clear sticker without the white borders!⠀
⠀
ps: the clear tape idea is an old thing not mine, I’m just sharing my experiments with it ☺⠀⠀

With this technique you remove ALL the background of the sticker (not only the borders, so it’s different to the fussy cutting🌟) and with some gel medium matte on the top have a matte finish if you like ☺️
Thank you for sharing this. Ive never seen anyone do this and didn’t know it could be done! *And so easy too! I love it! ♥️
Thank you from someone who really doesn’t enjoy fussy cutting!! 💙
Thank you Francesca. I sometimes put an empty tea bag over a glossy image. Works great and gives an other layer of texture, also.
So in this way you have washi stickers. How cool! Thank you for sharing.
Great idea, I probably would trim the tape a little closer to the flower, but that’s just me. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you. I have seen this many times, and to be honest, I think just fussy cutting is quicker in most cases, (apart from when the images are very intricate) and the effect is much nicer. I have not used gel medium, but have used clear gesso many times, and you never get totally rid of the shinyness. But thanks anyway, your tutorials are always great.
This is so very helpful, I love knowing how to use my stickers without ruining a journal page with the white edges! Thank you!
You are officially our investigator!! Thanks for sharing your experiments with us💗
