  • @ShipTechnician showcased a vanilla ship optimized for combat. His build had 5 leftover mass budget, which was used in this updated build for replacing the 1x1 hab with an empty control station (+3 mass). This allows up to 8 crew which can improve combat performance as the build uses particle and ballistic weapons, so it benefits from having more than 4 crew. Also an Equipment Plate (+1 mass) a ComSpike (+1 mass) was added.
    optimal crew:
    - Barrett (Particle Beam Weapon Systems + Starship Engineering)
    - Sam Coe (Payloads + Piloting)
    - Omari Hassan (Shield Systems)
    - Andromeda Kepler or Vasco (Aneutronic Fusion)
    - Gideon Aker or Jessamine Griffin (Ballistic Weapon Systems)
    - Sarah Morgan (Astrodynamics)

    I was wondering which (empty) Control Station had the most room to work with. Couldn't confirm while my PC is in for repairs, but I saw a video with one that still had tables and chairs taking up space. Glad to know of at least one that fits my needs. 😸

    Hi why have you 42 energy on universe and 37 on build?

      The Pinch 8A Reactor itself has 36 power. Having Andromeda Kepler or Vasco assigned as crew adds +1 power. This is displayed in the ship editor, which results in 37 power. Another 5 power comes from the Aneutronic Fusion player skill, this adds up to 42 total power and is only correctly displayed in space. Also having Omari Hassan assigned to your crew adds one free power to Shield Systems and having Sam Coe assigned to your crew adds one free power to Engines ... so in total you have 44 power that you can assign to your ship systems.
