Well done Greg! Great to see you get all that work done ! Have a great time on the water . 💯 good choice with wind instrument. The Rapido 40 I was lucky enough to sail last Nov did not have calibration and very hard to understand the wind ! Cheers Warren
Greg, I kept my trimaran in San Carlos for 2-3 years. I paid a little over a 1000 dollars/year. I was surprised how much Penasco charges. Getting to Penasco versus San Carlos is at least 8 hours more. I agree that finding necessary marine things for sailboats is a real struggle. Mexicans are much more into their fishing boats and luxury yachts than us Gringos. Love all the tune ups you did on RW. Hope to run into you again one of these days. Alan
Alan, $1k/YEAR??? Which yard exactly? I want to go there for the summer and haul her out but I’m not getting a response. Can you tell me who to call or email? Thx!
Your all metal fix to replace the “cheap ass plastic” throttle bar keeper is brilliant. Showing all the projects to maintain and improve Ravenswing makes for interesting viewing. When working on the hard in Puerto Penasco, are you able to live aboard or do you find shore accommodations? Is that a Malinois at 21:33? Handsome dog. Thank you for taking the time to film while repairing and relaunching. Bon voyage!
Thx! And I only showed you guys about 25% of what went down that week ;). Great dog breed ID. Yard owner Salvador Cabrales loves that breed. Photo is Drake who has learned to bark loudly at the yard fence along with his litter mate Ripley. In my Nov’22 visit they were 8week old new arrivals, joining the other two adult Malanois. Effective guards and total sweethearts. I’ve spent about four months cumulatively at Cabrales over the boat being there 2.5 years of past five. All nights spent aboard or in our pickup camper parked next to boat. I enjoy it but it’s truly living in the dirt, and many Americans prefer to go rent apartments nearby.
That boat looks huge out of the water and so much bigger than my own! Thanks for the update. Have you done a full soup to nuts boat tour? I am not sure I've ever seen one. Great job on the projects. Can't wait to see your sailing adventures this season.
Whoa, you read my mind. Last day of recent cruise the guys went off on a hike and I thought, hey, I’ve never done a boat tour video. So I grabbed a bunch of footage. It’ll get edited soon…
Nice! Great to see her back in the water. We almost went down the route of tower fitting our anenometer as well (why don’t Raymarine provide spare spades in the box?!?) but ended up with a mast rewire and fitted it at the same time.
@@RavenswingsailingMan oh man I hear you, no luck finding them at any Raymarine dealer here in St Maarten either so we ended up botching together our lovely new $700 anenometer install!!! Anyway, great to see her back in the water and looking forward to yours and Ruby’s upcoming Sea of Cortez adventures👍
I love your channel. I admit tho I was confused cuz I remember an episode where you sold Ravenswing? Am I crazy? Regardless, glad to see Ravenswing again. I envy you so much cuz I love Trimarans and you seem to be constantly surrounded by them. 😊
Yep crazy. But you might be remembering my commentary from a lousy night at sea two years ago when I said she was for sail dirt cheap and I was an idiot for singlehanded sailing. We made up after that ;)
40’ Ravenswing currently costs $330/mo to stay there. Haulout and launch is about $500. Crane work to remove and reinstall your mast is also about $500. They have very affordable hourly services rates. But they are stretched for skilled workers so it’s good to become fully informed first.
Happy to see you back on Ravenswing and off sailing!
Nice work mate and great to see Ravenswing back in the drink! Cruise on!
Gee I love that boat. Such a beautifully conceived and practical setup.
Can't wait for more G & R video adventures.
Cheers.

Good job(s)!

Same frustration here, literally just a few cents to Raymarine for tiny spades you can’t get in a small Mexican (or any other) seaside town. Argh.

Welcome back, it's been a while.
Yeah, there’s been a lot going on helping my parents. But ‘24 has already seen a surge in sailing time!!!

How much is dry docking at that joint? The Cabrales boat yard is pretty famous for good work but I've never inquired about dry dock.
