I live alone after a 27 year marriage, and a divorce, and love it. I can't imagine living with anyone else ever again. I'm enjoying creating small luxuries in my life. I buy myself occasional flowers and plants, and also like nice teas so bought myself a beautiful cup and saucer and am on the look out for a lovely teapot. The one thing that made a big difference to how I felt after my ex left was to buy myself new bedlinen, just for me. At first I couldn't afford high quality, so I chose a set in a pattern I loved. Later, I bought myself a pure wool duvet and mattress topper, which are so comfortable to sleep in, and recently a duvet set in soft linen. Having your own comfy bed to get into at night no matter what the day has been like is a real luxury.
Well done you! When my husband went I also got a new bed, bedding and bedroom furniture all in the colours I wanted, this room is now my sanctuary! I treat myself to flowers occasionally too.
Loved all your points as many applied to me. I also buy flowers at times and I collect teapots, even have one from London. I use my good china, Charleston by Lenox to drink coffee and tea. Have been fighting depression for awhile since losing my husband in 2011 to colon cancer, then reconnected with a guy I knew years ago before my husband. We were together for 8 years and I found him gone in his kitchen on the floor, heart attack. Loved your comments. Thanks
Great video ☺️. I've been living alone for six months, since my 20 year marriage ended in not very nice circumstances. At first I was devastated and felt like I had lost a limb. I'm 64 and now starting to enjoy the freedom and rebuild my life, I can feel a new me emerging. I put dome 80s dance music on the other day and danced like no one was watching 💃😂. Onwards and upwards! Still a few sad days but only to be expected early days still.
Occasionally I get lonely at night and before drifting off to sleep I think maybe I should let my ex come back. Then the next morning when I wake up I almost panic thinking he’s back. When I realize he’s not I am so relieved lol😊. I may date someone later on but I don’t think I want to ever live with anyone again. I enjoy having the freedom to do what I want, cook what I want and when I want ,etc. And it’s so quiet and peaceful 😊
Just came across your channel and I thought it was meant to be. After nearly 28 years of marriage my husband and his 43 yr. old daughter made plans behind my back to have him leave me. He moved into independent adult living at a luxurious complex with every service a person could want including 2 high end restaurants of his choosing. This was only 2 months ago. I literally felt kicked to the curb like some Vermin. He came into a large inheritance and dumped me. Also his daughter ( my step-daughter) wanted to be sure she would be the sole inheritor. I cared for him through his health ups and downs for most of my adult life. The depth of my hurt and disbelief is raw and painful. However, now that he’s not living here I am starting to enjoy just myself and my dog. He come’s over once a week to clear out some of his stuff. We have a very large house and he is a hoarder. I have no idea where I’ll be living in the future and what my economic situation will be like. That will be an ongoing process. Wherever I end up I am determined to enjoy being my own person and living alone. I’m sure your views will inspire me.
What you are going through right now hurts deeply. The deception behind your back and the rejection. Stay strong and remember your are worthy of peace and joy. Maybe he needs to get a uhaul truck and take his stuff out in one sweep. So you don't need to go through this every week. Happy you have your dog. Dogs do bring such joy! Many Blessings for your future and sending Prayers for your strength to the end of this mess. Look to your Bright Future!
I agree with the first commenter that you must get a good lawyer. You can ask that your husband pay the fees. That said, I am so, so sorry that you are going through this. You deserved better.
I acknowledge your hurt. Please go to see a solucitor/lawyer, now. And start keeping a diary of everything that is said and taken and all your memories. When the dust settles you may find your life is better without the negative influence of others. Your a good person, take care of yourself and your dog. Good luck.
I agree, being the eldest daughter i always took care of my siblings, i married young and had 4 daughters, nursed my husband for years and now i can care for me, i’ve been a widow for 4years, i do what i want, when i want.
I married at 22, had 2 children by 24, then marriage ended. Suddenly I felt alive and happy again. Had another child at 41 from a long relationship. I had many offers of marriage but decided I loved my freedom and preferred being a lone parent as children were FUN. Started my own business working from home, buying and doing up property. Making my own money added to my sense of freedom. Now at 86 I have 5 grandchildren and 2 greats! I am truly truly happy and love my life, love my family, love my friends. The only downside of old age is losing friends, one by one. But making new friends of all ages from 40s to 90s keeps me living in the moment. Also having money to spend entertaining and spoiling loved ones gives me so much pleasure. Last but not least, the companionship of my little dog is the icing on the cake!
Speaking of wearing dresses, I had someone tell me about their idea of how they wear their dresses now. What they do is, instead of saving some of your pretty dresses you love and only wearing them to church or special events, get them out and wear them to whatever you want. Let them see the sun and enjoy them! They are not just to look pretty hanging in the closet. She was ask one day while wearing one of her favorite dresses if she was going somewhere special that what she was wearing was very pretty? She just said, yeah doing some errands and back home and thank you for the compliment on my dress. So girls, get those pretty dresses you love and wear them!! 😃 Thank you for all your videos and ideas, they are great and keep me thinking❣️
Love this comment. I love to tell this story of when I worked in an opp shop and a mum came in with her little girl. The little girl must have been about 4-5 years old. She was talking to her mum about a dress mum had tried on but didn't buy. The child was saying "Mummy, that dress was so nice on you. you should go back and buy it". The mother responded... "Yes, I did love it, but it costs a lot and where would I wear it?" The little girl's eyes widened and in a tone that expressed a brilliant idea, said "You could wear it to go shoping for groceries".
As a very young toddler I only wanted to wear dresses and nightgowns (no pajamas). I've always maintained the preference for nightgowns (don't even own pajamas) and about 10-12 years ago I started wearing dresses exclusively. I buy inexpensive but pretty maxi dresses from Amazon. They are so comfortable and I can dress them up with jewelry and scarves. I get compliments on them all the time.
Hello, I hope you're safe over there? I hope this year brings happiness, prosperity, love 💚 and peace all over the world . I would love us to be good friends in honesty and in trust so as time goes on it will bring something great for us in the future, hope you don't mind?. I'm, Nashville, Tennessee. Where are you from if I may ask?❤
Always take care of yourself and do what u feel is good for u. Movies pool dinner and a few good friends. U can do everything by yourself too . never know who u might meet. Relax around house read good books. I agree what she is saying. Go for it. Enjoy
What a great channel! I love living alone! Was married for 18 years and divorced since 2003. When my grown children married and moved out 4 years ago, there was some adjustment but now I cant imagine living with a full house. I do things my way. I enjoy my quiet time in the mornings with devotion and then exercising. Pilates is my favorite. My house stays clean and I can decorate just the way I like it. Every Friday I buy fresh flowers and light tea candles while eating dinner. I love myself and I love making things look nice and cozy. ☺
Thank you for this post. I lost my beloved of 40 yrs 4 months ago and am still a little tender. I’m realizing my situation is not unique. I love that many of your followers commented how they enjoy living alone. I hope to get there someday. Great ideas.
Love your channel Margaret XXX ❤❤❤ XXX Jeanine a Dutch woman of 66 living sola in Spain. And loving it. Everyday I am grateful for having my own space and my freedom.
Your chats are such a comfort. I live alone after an unexpected later in life divorce at 61 (68 now) and have been following you since then. It took many years to recapture my former self, as I was crushed beyond belief, but your support and kind words have been instrumental in moving to a place where I can say "I love my life". I take pleasure in the smallest of activities, such as sitting outside and watching fireflies, or enjoying coffee in bed whenever I want...listening to music I love whether it's classical or k-pop! You are a friend to all of us who tune in and I thank you for everything you do on your channel.
I was divorced about 20 years ago. My children grew up and have moved out about 10 years ago. I love living alone. I can eat what I want or sleep late or wake up early. Go out or not. Single life is great!
Hi Margaret I live with myself in small apartment. I recently started to bring in houseplants which are not only visually beautiful but help keep the air clean and is rewarding . I wanted to adopt a cat but giving it a lot of thought. I have only been in my apt for a year started out with no furniture so have been mindfully purchasing but I have things that are necessary and beautiful to me but not things that just clutter or waste of money. I appreciate you giving us parts of our lives to think about . Enjoy your day 🌷
I'm a plant person and love to sit in my tiny garden, for an hour or so, to start my day. I also have a wonderful cat. Be forewarned cats do like to eat plants, so you much teach them not to eat you plants...also make certain your plants aren't toxic for your cat. Good luck!!
@@pamelamoore6239I had a cat who chewed my spider plant. But I recently found that the need the grass pieces to bring up fur balls.. but yes we have to be careful what the eat.xx
@@janeyd5280 I have had many cats over the years and I just love them. Yes they love greens . I had one that liked to eat roses whenever I had them in the house . I’m hesitant to have a cat now for various reasons . I guess I have opted for houseplants in the meantime . I do have a spider plant that needs repotting this week. It’s rewarding to see the plants grow and change .
Aromatic showers/baths A personal space for yourself in the house Dress for success - comfortably Host a themed party occasionally, possibly a bring and share Take up a new hobby/skill Colouring books; artistic expression Plan dream holidays Host a movie night Spa day at home Give yourself a treat Start collecting something, e.g. a personal library Take up a new fitness regime
Loved this video, Margaret! :) I appreciated your positive comments about living alone. You mentioned that some people prefer their own company at home. Even they can watch a movie together and pause it for chatting. Most of my friends are constantly on the go and think I'm not having fun just because I enjoy being at home. Anyway, you are a breath of fresh air. Thank you for reminding me of all the small-and-yet-huge ways we can bring joy to our lives. 😘🌹
Thank you for this tips , I really enjoying my small herbs and fruits and vegetable garden💖and my bedroom is comfortable for me and I love being alone in my bed. ✌
Thank you so much Margaret. I lost my husband last year and I’m slowly learning how to live by myself. My brother just took me to Mexico for a few days. It was eye opening. I have a new lease on life! It was so refreshing to get out in the world. I’ve never had a passport until last year, and Mexico was the first time I used it! 🤣 Thank you for reminding me that adventure doesn’t have to be expensive or far from home.
Good morning from Australia. I live part time in a van and do house and pet sitting as well. For a treat, I have always bought nice smelling hand soaps. I also like candles. They create such a soft lighting which to me is very relaxing. Sometimes just to be a bit silly, I wear a string of pearls with my outfit to go grocery shopping.
I love that string of beads suggestion. I think a string of pearls is beautiful. I will start wearing mine often now and it will definitely make me happier.
I do some of your fun suggestions although I don't live alone. My husband is in his office all day and I in mine. But when he's away I have fun. Loud music, dance, sing, watch Netflix and crochet. Next time I'll go to a museum in a dress😄
Thats totally different. Living alone without having a husband to worry about cooking meals wash clothes or argueing over things etc is the best thing for a woman esp.when you hav been thru the different cycles like have babies become g'mother n living alone is freedom at last.
Same here but mostly I don’t mind. It’s MY house and MY yard, so I can do things the way I want. Plus it counts as exercise and I can sit and read afterwards with a snack.
Hi Margaret! I’ve been living alone for 19 years after having a 34 year marriage and 5 children. It took some adjusting after my divorce, but I’ve had the freedom to help with grandchildren, travel when and where I please, and all the other benefits of living alone without having to accommodate the endless needs of a husband. Thanks for your videos!!
74 years YOUNG 😂 YES YES YES ! 52 years married , VERGIN bride, still legally attached to my verbally ABUSIVE partner BUT I CHOOSE to LIVE ALONE . I concur with this beautiful FEMALE. With the SUPPORT of my children, friends, neighbours , strangers I feel FREE as a BIRD. The JOY of independence is LIBERATING but I NEVER look backward because the REWARDS of my past are AMAZING . PHYSICAL and MENTAL activities are CENTRAL to my JOY of LIVING. The ROAD AHEAD is unknown until the final EXHALE but it is formulated by OUR decisions. Live Love Laugh be HAPPY.🎉🎉🎉😂😂😂
I enjoy living alone and I love to travel. I purchase flowers mnthly, not expensive but they give me much joy. No one will pamper you unless you do it yourself. I also try to worry less about situations I cannot change. Thank you Margaret
I love that you associate being single with living like a millionaire. I remember that Kinsey Milhone, the fictional detective in Sue Grafton's book series, would say 'I love being single. It's almost like being rich." I think it's about being free.
After 25 yrs of marriage I must admit it took me a while to adjust but now I like living alone , maybe would like a companion but certainly don t want to live with a man .. Happy doing my own thing and not having to answer to anyone , thankfully I have good friends and family around me and I can go visit my son in USA whenever I want to …
Thanks for this video. I’ve been on my own since 2012 after a divorce. I love my space. In 2000 I purchased a Bucket List item of a Windsor wing back chair. It’s my “ comfort “ zone for relaxing and reading. Monday nights are my Spa time… a Epsom salt, Lavender oil and Baking Soda soak in a tub of warm water. It’s freeing to be able to decorate as I want. I love not answering to anyone when I want to go out to exercise, seeing friends, or whatever I want to do. In August 2021 I downsized to a small townhouse so in consideration of close neighbors I choose not to have guests over for lengthy visits. I’m taking classes at the local Community Center that my insurance covers the fees. At age 70, this week I start taking swim lessons… another Bucket List item since childhood. Next is Bungee Jumping lessons. I encourage everyone to keep learning new skills. When I was 19 I started traveling extensively for work. I started collecting postcards, matchbooks and state spoons. I also love maps. I have a few small pots of plants and vegetables. I gain So much relaxation in seeing seeds become a beautiful plant and producing beautiful flowers and vegetables. I’m interested in a movie night. Hugs and Much Love from Arkansas. ❤️
Thanks, Margaret, for all the advice. You do help my day each time that come on to chat with us. I also am still married. We are 76 and 73. I occasionally like having the house to myself as well. I love dresses, but don't wear them often enough. I did have my sister and two friends over for a lite lunch in January! It was fun!!! I need to do that again. Thanks, my dear!
If you've got your health, you've got wealth! I play racket ball at the gym before I do silver sneakers or Yoga class; daily. I am planning a trip to D.C. alone! and I've never been! I buy flowers every time I go to Trader Joe's! 3.99 bunch. Will be 63 in JULY and loving my life alone. Reading the comments on your videos makes me smile b/c so many women love being alone....😁(what does that tell you?) Every time I listen to your videos lovely lady, I get a BIG smile! I love when you mention "a cup of tea" and "chocolates" I do this often and it's so good for the soul! and WE LOVE YOU! 🤩🥰😜
What would we do without you, Margaret! You make my day better. So glad to see you’re recovering well from cholecystectomy. I parted ways with mine thirty years ago. Sending hugs from Whidbey Island.
You look great post recovery, PTL ! I tried your spa day recommendation. It was wonderful! Purchased bath bomb at senior center, lower cost, handmade, supports the senior center and senior citizen who makes these wonderful bath bombs. Listened, Spotify, ocean waves crashing on shore music while soaking. Pedicure followed ,next a deep olive oil facial message. I was so relaxed. Thank you for such suggestions. A wonderful exercise stretching program I found on U Tube is with a former Canadian ballerina, Miranda Esmonds White 's Essentric Stretching, beginners to advance level. One will walk away feeling tired, but the good tired. Free Summer Parks Music starts soon. I will take picnic dinner and lawn chairs . Happy summer to the northern hemisphere, ladies. Happy winter to you ladies in the Southern Hemisphere, s'mor, and hot chocolate . It's always time for an SPA day!❤
Great video dear Margaret ❤ I am struggling with melancholy at 65 and dealing with a very tumultuous marriage of 43 years. So much to decide it's scary and I am trying to take it one day at a time. So glad you are recovered from your surgery ❤
Thank you, Margaret!! One thing I did, that really helps is pack away my dishes, and only leave out two sets so that my sink doesn’t get too full!! I have a very small sink and it was getting way too full because it’s much too easy to grab a new dish but now I just wash as I go and I’m much happier. :-) And I can easily unpack more dishes if I need them.
Haven’t been wearing dresses much at all, mostly pants, thanks for the suggestion. May be just the lift I need, lost my husband a few months ago, this video is so appreciated. Thanks.
So happy i found your channel . I have been living alone for over 2 years and have found my comfort zone . I am retired and focus on my health and wellbeing . This is the first time in my life i have had time for me , i cannot imagine living with another person again .
Margaret, you look and have a happy personality like my sister-in-law. She is always so upbeat and enjoys life fully! She will be 90 in April. I agree with you about being good to yourself and giving yourself a little gift occasionally. My life has been spent caring for others and neglecting ME for years. I lost my husband over 6 years ago and for the first 4 years, I felt incomplete, as if part of my body was gone! Finally I am getting used to and enjoying my little piece of the. world. The pain has lessened and I don't cry as much. We were married for 52 years.
I am a widow into my third year. I was blessed with a low income senior apartment in a very nice complex in Florida USA only minutes from beaches. Every square foot of my place is sacred to me. I have decorated it to remind me of an antique beach cottage. I have not completed my decorating and relish taking it slow. I should do more personal pampering. I would say in entering my third year as a widow I am truly enjoying the simple luxury of waking up when I want. Getting out of bed when I am good and ready!😂 cooking if I want, sandwiches if I don't. I need to start going to the beach as well. The severe Summer heat is over and I am ready to sunbathe.
Love these suggestions. Although I don't live alone, I do enjoy it though when my husband is gone for the day or weekend and I have time to putter and do the things I probably wouldn't do if my husband were around. For instance, I'd put on my favorite songs -loud- and play them on repeat! I would relish the opportunity to not have to cook the way I do for the two of us. I may go to a sandwich shop or invite a friend over for dessert and a chat. Anyway, it's nice to have options and not have everything planned to just to be spontaneous. ❤
Thank you for this video, Margaret. I needed it today! Yes, there is always something wonderful no matter how small just waiting for you to discover if you have the eyes to see it. Your videos are a wonderful reminder.
I loved listening to all your great ideas - I do many. I absolutely love living alone. I love my freedom. My special place is my bedroom. Summertime I enjoy planting my flowers and veggies. Many flowers around the house and on the deck. I love picking the fresh vegetables. The pool opens and I’m thrilled to have people over to enjoy the pool with Lucy or dinner using the vegetables I have planted. My kids help with the heavy things. Love my single life , family and friends. Thank you for your post 🤗
I relate to so much you mentioned! I love my house and have redecorated it from top to bottom since my husband passed two years ago. I have my little reading corner in my conservatory which is so light & bright. My bedroom is decorated in cool toned colour ( so nice to relax in) and I love to get ready each morning pampering my skin. I do it for me to make me feel nice! Oh and now summer is here in the UK I am tending my little garden. All this contributes to my well being. Great topic to discuss Margaret. Thank you.
Hello from Virginia... I also redecorated and pushed myself to get out and further enjoy life as a 75 year old retired woman after decades of a wonderful marriage. He passed away at 83 and I'm eternally grateful for love. Trying new volunteer gigs and more and more travel. FYI. Just read The Midnight Library ... profound and interesting. Will recommend to pals. We also love the mystery novels by Richard Osman. Great reading. Best wishes in your new experiences
Thank you Laura. I too had a wonderful husband. We were together since I was 15 in total 51 years. I have been determined to do the things we had planned to do together. This year I went to New Zealand & Australia. Next trip planned is New York.
I just found you and I’m in my 50’s….I just sent your TH-cam link to my mother. I’m retired and I try to encourage her but you’re good for that too! Thank you so much..still learning 🙏🏽🙋🏻♀️👍🏽Mia
The luxurious life presumes a clean and orderly home. Start and end every day with a few routines that keep a home fresh and presentable. 1) Make the bed -- yes, the bed with the glorious mattress kind to degenerative discs, with its crisp white linens 2) feed the cats and clean the box 3) Swiffer and vacuum all floors and upholstery. 4) put the clean dishes from the dishwasher away 4) Make coffee. In the evening, make sure the kitchen is immaculate and the dishwasher running. Obviously other things arise, such as laundry - sheets and towels at least weekly. Bathroom hand towels should be refreshed every day. Just say "no!" to paper piles. Cleanliness is self care. Life is graceful in a clean house. PS: wear your glasses when you vacuum.
This was so special! This is great information...actually, a blessing for me. Please keep these coming. I am now 80 years old and live alone in another country than my family. I am so glad to live in this time of social media so I can keep up with my loved ones...and so they don't have to be concerned about having to take care of me. I want them to live their own lives, I appreciate your taking the time and energy for this.
I just turned 73, living in San Diego with my daughter and grandson. It’s only Social Security income at this time which is not enough. I can’t wait to live alone.😊 I keep in touch with friends from high school married widow or alone. So much in common and laughing so much at our history together and making new memories when I visit once a year. Talk or text 4 times a week. Gets me through the hard times. Living with your children is a whole new ballgame. It feels like a role reversal that does not feel healthy at all. So grateful for this video and sharing comments. God bless.
I do yoga, meditation, started growing vegetables and flowers, cooking try new recipes.I have already travelled all around the globe,I need to go to library and do more readings 🙏❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏
This was the best information! I could feel myself relaxing and acknowledging the wonderful activities you mentioned. I’m scared to be alone but I am finding so many things I enjoy doing recently. The acceptance is liberating really.
It is all about the quality of life for most of us. Getting out and socializing is more important than many realize. Make comfort for yourself at home.
More great ideas Margaret, thank you! I love , love, crystal! Crystal candle holders, bottle stoppers, light catchers to dangle in windows, bpwls, plates, you name it. Crystal vases elevate even the most simple daisy to a higher level of perfection. I love the way crystal sparkles and brings light into a home. What better place to live than Switzerland, to live, especially if one loves gourmet chocolate? Except, maybe Belgium? As a treat a friend and I used go to a local chocolatier, always requesting two separate boxes, because we couldn't bear the thought of having to share such hand picked delights. The choclatier was always so intent upon wrapping each box as tightly as possible with various gold and red ribbons, making them totally inaccessable to human touch. Difficult to tell him, he was totally wasting his time, because our selections always mysteriously disappeared, even before leaving the parking lot! . Crysalized ginger in dark chocolate, rum truffles, chocolate covered marzipan and pinepple, not forgetting nougat with cherries are my favourites. My friend 'changed worlds' at least a decade ago, but you prompted me to stop in next time I drive buy 'Totally Chocolate 'to rekindle happy memories, and purchase a small box of unrestrained nuggets of joy, with which to 'toast' my friend. We all deserve a little splurge once in a while, maybe it is time to allow ourselves the luxury of being more impusive when the mood strikes! I remember once asking my then four year old daughter if she would like to go to the zoo, or have icecream. She replied, with great enthusiasm, " Ice cream at the zoo, please, Mummy!" I decided then an there, that she would be successful in life, 37 years later, she is still acoomplishing a goals, and making a positive difference in the world.
I loved reading your comment. Thank you so much for taking the time to create such an amazing story. Oh beautiful words and inspirational your daughter. Sounds wonderful you’ve done good :-) enjoy your weekend.
I have lived alone most of my life (never married) I'm almost 63. I work part time. I get a little lonely sometimes but I go work, church and take a long drive once a week with a friend. I'm much happier and calmer since I stopped dating. It's been almost 4 years. I enjoy my craft hobbies and my bad cat to talk to and take care of. I'm starting to declutter and downsize so I can move to cheaper probably smaller apartment or small house. Anybody out there who wants a "pen pal"?
Re: stopping dating. I no longer feel the need or want of the physicality of a relationship whereas it used to be very important to me.. a friend wrote 'No passion, no pain, no problem.'
Thank you for your happiness. Living alone l painted my front door step, its great to know l can do small things for myself. Also traveling is great, just planning and enjoying. Its the freedom that comes doing what you like.
Hello , Margaret! I live alone in a tiny apartment , which I decorated with love.I'd really like you to do a tour of your place. If you have done it already, please share the link. Thanks a lot, from Argentina ❤
I love your videos! Thank you for being so uplifting and inspirational. Can you do a video on how to do something like taking a vacation by yourself for the first time? I am divorced for 4 years and I have a beautiful home of my own. I love being single at 60 and don't want to date at this point. But, I have no one to do things with. How do you make the leap from having a spouse to organize and plan the outings/vacations and following along, to having to do it all by myself vs staying home cleaning, and watching tv? I'm sad and starting to feel lonely. I want to enjoy my life and learn to do things by myself but I feel stuck and afraid. Any advice? Thank you, Kelley
Hi Kelly. Is it takes a bit of adjusting. Please check out my website and yo and you tube channel and search for travel articles on solo travel. There are so many that might help you. Wishing you all the best.🌺
Excellent advice!!❤🎉 I love the idea of making a sacred place! I am alone and this is one of the most joyful, peaceful times in my life after a long marriage. I am very content! I planted 18 sugar maple trees yesterday, with help from a friend of course. I have a small perennial garden....watching them grow and blossom makes me happy.😊 My four children are all grown now, and now I can do some things that fill my spirit....simple things. A walk in the woods or near the biking trail by the river....biking...making some chocolate chip walnut cookies and go visit my neighbor lady that is alone....listening to old music fills my spirit with joy and I find myself dancing in the kitchen😊.....I also enjoy going to second hand stores and maybe finding a colorful blouse and some pretty jewelry. I often visit our local library and love the PBS section! So many good documentaries and nature movies and movies about other countries and their culture is always interesting. Cleaning and organizing my closet always feels good....sometimes I have that dress or favorite pair of colorful leggings tucked away that I have forgotten about.🎉 Meeting a girlfriend to go see a matinee or Tuesday nights movies are only $5. I enjoy flowers around my home...you can pick them up very reasonable and they brighten up any room. Some days, I just turn my phone off.....and turn on my cozy electric blanket and take a nap!😊 that is very refreshing Feeding and watching my birds is fun for me....seeing all the different kinds of birds and I look them up on my phone to learn more about them. I occasionally will see an eagle soaring in my area!!🎉❤ Another thing I love doing is making a big batch of soup and sharing it with a couple of my treasured friends.💝 I am grateful for my home and having peace and happiness again. Thank you for your advice and gving me more ideas to brighten up my spirit!😊🎉 I look forward to listening to your future videos. You are a classy and wise woman!🥰 Take time for yourself....women/mothers are always pouring their hearts out to please others/family.❤ Now, for one of the first times in my life and taking care of myself and doing things I love and that make my heart do cartwheels!😊🎉 Celebrate you!!!🎉💗💜💙💛💗💜💛💙💗💜💚💙💗💜💛💗💜💛💙 You deserve it!🎉 Love, from a country girl from Wisconsin ❤
Hi Tina. Thank you so much for your beautiful message. I read every word and saved the description of the lifestyle that you’ve created. I’m so happy for you. Thank you for your beautiful kind words. Have a wonderful weekend, Margaret.
Thank you for featuring Embryolisse. I’m on my second tube of the face cream love the smell and the luxuriousness for a pamper but I’m thrifty and always conscious of the price. I haven’t seen the lotion locally but will be looking! You always have something for others to gleam!
I live alone now after my husband died suddenly. I did the downsizing we had needed to do on my own, from a rather large and cluttered house to a small, but new unit across the other side of the country. I am next to the ocean where I have wanted to be for a long time. Out of all the possessions we had, I brought only the things that I loved, use and want to have around me. But first I updated myself with new IPad and IPhone, and new luggage. I also was ruthless about my clothes and cosmetics etc. New bedlinen was my first luxurious purchase. I get pleasure in being able to buy a single flower today or a plant or a new piece of furniture that is smart and that I cannot get out of my head. Take pleasure I say in being able to do what you want, when you want (pretty much) after years of looking after others. No-one should need an occasion to wear something nice or be dressy, and that also includes perfume if it is something you love! I now do yoga and love it, twice a week as well as another movement class twice a week.
thank you for posting this, I loved the Chocolate Treat and be dressed up as it is a Chocolate and Milk party, instead of a Cheese and Wine Party, and explore a new Dark Chocolate. I bought fake flowers :) I been separated from my husband for over 10 years, and i went into a deep depression being alone, but now i find it wonderful, and learning yet new things to make my home cozy just for me.
Margaret, you are one of the most beautiful and caring people, and love listening to you while I'm making dinner or exercising. I have started to put you in my prayers with my other loved ones every night 🙏. I love you. Please take good care of you with lots of love 🎉❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hi Barbara. Thank you for your very kind words. I purchased most of my necklaces and charity shops and small boutiques and never spend a lot on them. I also make my own jewelry including the rainbow necklace that you might’ve been referring to thank you again for your lovely comment.
I live alone & cherish the solitude. I find it important to chose my outfit carefully when I know I'm home for the day, as well as do a little something with my hair. This may sound silly, but one thing I do to give myself a lift is to keep a lipstick in the bathroom & refresh it every time I'm in there. It's fun to chose a color for the day & sit it on the counter. 🙂
I love scarves and have collected them over the years and I’ve been given scarves. One day I sewed them all together and made a canopy around my bed and love that protection and memory of each scarf.
It's interesting that when you live alone, you are happy in yourself & always looking forward for new achievements in one way or the other. If you are spiritual also that is fantastic. However, people keep on reminding you that you are alone, perhaps in jealousy, because then they see you problem free & not compromising. It also happens when people try to escape from their own real problems & forgetting to mind their own business
Hello beautiful, how are you doing and how is your night
Thanks for sharing your journey. I can identify. Stay strong as you move Forward …❤️ from Arkansas.

Thanks
I am a widow for two years. I am 72 and first time in my entire life I live alone....and I LOVE it!
Same here, I was devastated the first 2 years. Then I got ovet it and moved to Spain. Loving my single live.
@@jeaninevandalen6969 thank you, you've given me hope.

Get a good lawyer and get what’s yours. Good luck.
Good luck.

5 years living alone and I love it!😊 after spending most of my life taking care of other people I am now taking care of myself.😊
Sending love,no legacy is so rich as honesty, did you see this show on tv programs?
Well done you..❤❤❤
i love your story pretty cool sounds like a great life
Speaking of wearing dresses, I had someone tell me about their idea of how they wear their dresses now.
What a great idea!

I also live alone after a divorce of 26 years. I’ve also retired at the end of 2022. Life is good!❤️

Good luck!!

So true!
Hello there, how are you doing
Have lived essentially alone for the last 40 years. I cant imagine living any other way.
You are truly worth your weight in gold! Such a bright light for so many of us. Thank you.
You will never know how much you've helped us over the rough spots LOVE !
@@melyndaduh3501 Jackie Kennedy said that "Pearls were always appropriate."
I love living alone, but solo home maintenance takes up a large percentage of my time.
I hear you ❤
Same for me! Sometimes it is really challenging.
Especially yard work! Ugh.
Same here but mostly I don’t mind. It’s MY house and MY yard, so I can do things the way I want. Plus it counts as exercise and I can sit and read afterwards with a snack.
You are such a lovely lady…so positive. I’m glad I found your channel. It helps me feelOK about getting old.
Thanks Margaret! Buying myself flowers has been a favorite 😍
Great analogy !!

I now love gardening. I don’t need to buy flowers. I just get them from my garden.

Thank you.

Terrific post, garden! Love It!
This was so special! This is great information...actually, a blessing for me. Please keep these coming. I am now 80 years old and live alone in another country than my family. God bless.

Thank you for sharing supporting those like me starting now & is scary to start over but I'm going to embrace it 😊
margaret you look so lovely..i am so happy you have recovered so gracefully from your recent surgery..thank you for your beautiful inspirational self!
You are so welcome
I would like that... I miss writing letters!
I appreciate you Margaret. Thank you
You are so welcome
Thank you for your happiness. Living alone l painted my front door step, its great to know l can do small things for myself.
Also traveling is great, just planning and enjoying. Its the freedom that comes doing what you like.
Wonderful!

Great ideas!
thanks!
I look forward to your videos. Such a positive delivery and tons of quick information/ideas.
Glad you like them!
Excellent advice!!❤🎉
I love the idea of making a sacred place!
I am alone and this is one of the most joyful, peaceful times in my life after a long marriage. I am very content!
I planted 18 sugar maple trees yesterday, with help from a friend of course. I have a small perennial garden....watching them grow and blossom makes me happy.😊
My four children are all grown now, and now I can do some things that fill my spirit....simple things.
Cleaning and organizing my closet always feels good....sometimes I have that dress or favorite pair of colorful leggings tucked away that I have forgotten about.🎉
Meeting a girlfriend to go see a matinee or Tuesday nights movies are only $5.
I enjoy flowers around my home...you can pick them up very reasonable and they brighten up any room.
Some days, I just turn my phone off.....and turn on my cozy electric blanket and take a nap!😊 that is very refreshing
Feeding and watching my birds is fun for me....seeing all the different kinds of birds and I look them up on my phone to learn more about them. I occasionally will see an eagle soaring in my area!!🎉❤
Another thing I love doing is making a big batch of soup and sharing it with a couple of my treasured friends.💝
I am grateful for my home and having peace and happiness again.
Thank you for your advice and gving me more ideas to brighten up my spirit!😊🎉
I look forward to listening to your future videos. You are a classy and wise woman!🥰
Take time for yourself....women/mothers are always pouring their hearts out to please others/family.❤
Now, for one of the first times in my life and taking care of myself and doing things I love and that make my heart do cartwheels!😊🎉
Celebrate you!!!🎉💗💜💙💛💗💜💛💙💗💜💚💙💗💜💛💗💜💛💙
You deserve it!🎉
Love, from a country girl from Wisconsin ❤

Thank you for featuring Embryolisse. I’m on my second tube of the face cream love the smell and the luxuriousness for a pamper but I’m thrifty and always conscious of the price. I haven’t seen the lotion locally but will be looking! You always have something for others to gleam!
Thanks for sharing!!
I finally found and purchased the lotion! The soft gardenia scent is wonderful! Thank you so much.
Love those suggestions!❤
Thank you for these ideas ❤
You are so welcome!
I am 67year I am widow 5year I live alone I love it
I grateful for the life God has allowed me to have and experience, there’s some challenging days, however I just work through them.
Yes! I made a space upstairs and one downstairs. I go there for a few minutes of quiet time.
Thanks for the encouragement, Margaret!
Hugs to you!!
thank you for posting this, I loved the Chocolate Treat and be dressed up as it is a Chocolate and Milk party, instead of a Cheese and Wine Party, and explore a new Dark Chocolate. I bought fake flowers :) I been separated from my husband for over 10 years, and i went into a deep depression being alone, but now i find it wonderful, and learning yet new things to make my home cozy just for me.
Everything you say is everything I believe .
I try to keep myself happy😊
Thank you!
Thank you ♥️
Came across the channel by accident and love, love, love your necklaces. Can you share where you get them??? Thanks for looking after us. ❤
You are so wonderful Margaret. You inspire us all so very much. Thank you.
You are so welcome
Good ideas! Thank you. 😊
Wonderful !
Please kindly write me what is that body lotion you mentioned. I did not get the name. I would like to try it. Thanks so much.
I'm also greatful to listen thanks
Thanks for listening
I love a nice tablecloth on the kitchen table with a bowl of fresh fruit especially lemons and oranges and limes.
Great idea!!
I like flowers and I collect perfumes
