    Interesting insightful interview. There is an element of worshipping E.D. In Eddie but he has said something which ties E.D. to most of the atrocities under the old dispensation. He said E.D. was the brains behind Mugabe’s regime and he was also the chairman of the JOC which has terrorised Zimbabweans left right and center.

    • @zimcoder
      @zimcoder 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      And yet there are contradictions in his statements. ED cannot be absolved of the sufferings Zimbabweans have endured under the JOC which has operated as a military Junta and he was the leader of it. Ed was also the head of the brutal electoral campaigns that saw many Zimbabweans maimed or killed. This is an attempt to whitewash the history of ED by a man who has admitted to having been paid by the subject of his book and the contents of the very book curated by ED himself. Trevor nailed it, it's a PR stunt. He says he likes being independent yet he is being paid to write a favourable book.

    Eye opening interview Trevor. Those with ears let them hear. Two things You did not ask. EC and DC MF arei being identified as the brains that formed the MDC to counter the Land Reform Program?
    Secondly, The British Sold the land, Southern Rhodesia to BSA company headed by CJ Rhodes, now know as AAC for ,2 8 million pounds, as a top up to gold bullion loan the British to finance the first world war.
    The British Sold disputed land They have an obligation to pay back. And honor the Lancaster house agreement. Zimbabwe is suffering because of these history happenings.

    I don't agree with Eddie's current politics but you can't fault at least 90% of what he says here regarding fixing the economy. He is spot on. I don't know if current dispensation has the capacity to do it, but they have done one or two things the previous lot dismally failed to. Of course I say this at the risk of congratulating a fish for swimming but given how low the bar is after Bob, we have moved the needle somewhat! Still to little too late but the trick is whether the current lot will be willing to make way for younger, more qualified, more worldly, unencumbered folk to actually move us forward!!! If they stem the corruption tide in mining and farming, Zimbabwe would be the place to be sooner than we all thought. That said, #ZANU-PF must go!

Power behind the throne means he was behind RGM's mysterious wins even when people voted for another candidate and its true, RGM said so after the coup. One centre of power after the death of Perence Shiri, Chiwenga is really sick most of the time so the tripartite alliance is gone, like Julius Ceasar, you become dangerous to the nation. Came across this interview after watching a documentary from the 1970's. The young handsome man in those days Eddie Cross was basically saying the same thing. How I wish that our black and white great grandparents could have maintained that mentality und spirit for Zimbabwe. We grandchildren could be living in a "first world" country in Africa 2021.

    If I was Eddie Cross I would have not taken the offer to write ED’s biography because of his dark side and reputation but Eddie did and there’s a lot that was compromised. I am pretty sure that if he’s is given a chance to write outside Zimbabwe he will attempt to write the truth that would set him free. There is nothing candid about Emerson Dambudzo Munangagwa and his hands are tainted with blood overtime. Since he joined ZANU and he started killing his comrades in Mozambique and after independence was instrumental in the creation of the Gugurawundi that massacred defenseless civilians in Matebeleland and the Midlands. He has accomplished what he wanted in politics and is not bothered about his dark side think about the undeveloped Matebeleland 41 years of independence, the GRAND PLAN is in full swing. I think if he was a repented man he would have visited all parts of the the country especially Matebeleland and made an effort to rebuild and mend the bleeding hearts of our people in that region. Shame on you Eddie and your new found love with the evil of our country. At least you know where your bread is buttered may God bless.
