@ShadowLancer128 Paul uses alot more legato than you might think. 1. His legato is not as fluid since he doesn't use reverb. 2. His fingers are incredibly strong. 3. He always picks at least one note in his legato licks to accent the pulse/rhythm. Due to this it might be hard to single out his legato stuff from his fully alternate licks. (And live recordings are usually more aggresive/pumped up. At least in rock/metal)
@Bysler Good catch! Sure looks like he switches to the old style there. I've seen him pick that way when playing chords, but he's very clearly playing that passage with the "reverse" picking style he used to use...very interesting.
