Oh boy. This mission. Anyone that played this game knows what's coming up. Here you gather data on the White Base and it's crew by locking on to them, but the catch is that they can absolutely demolish you. I kept in my first attempt just to show off how fast it can break down for you.
Now to actually do this stage, and get a high score, you need to do what I do at my second attempt only with a single MS unit. There's a rock where if you put someone, Amuro and Guncannon glitch and won't come after you, they just stand there. So that's what you use to gather their data and then move the rest of your team around safely, destroying decoys for extra points. I'll show getting an S rank here at some point in the future. - เกม

Amuro counting your dead teammates was horrifying.
This mission did an excellent job in portraying how frightening it would have been to engage White Base in combat.
Damn! No question this is THE hardest mission in the game. As soon as Amuro saw you, you were DONE!!
I want to see Amuro's voice actor (the dub one) play this mission

I just love how one of the hardest missions in the game, just looking at the White Base as Zakus, is accurate to actual Gundam reasoning. Heck YEAH this should be one of the hardest things to do in the game!
I also think that it's missions like these makes you realize just how amazing the original crew was in the series, both in their skills and their suits compared to Zeon's forces. It adds more to the 'legend' so to speak.
PJAStudios This Game is Still Epic depsite it's A.I. Flaws, Amuro's Gundam at this point was "damaged" by Ramba Ral's Suicide attack on White Base.
Gundam won't Melee you with it's Beam Saber. Small Nod to The Hand being Damaged by Ral.

There's a difference between being hard and being soaked in plot armor. Nothing in this level can be damaged or hit. I can see if the White Base crew has high damage resistance but making it to where every single shot completely misses its mark is pure bullshit. Especially when you reach the trojan horse. You are right in front of it, it isn't moving, and yet you still can't hit it. Also the only way to get past Amuro is to exploit a stupid glitch on a rock. Really?!? They could have done more to make this level fun instead of pure bullshit.

I'm actually surprised by how well you went for your first time at this in awhile. Can't expect to win them all in the first go though I guess.
Such BS Amuro has his Newtype abilities when they weren't starting to awaken till Jaburo. God this mission showed me what those pilots had to go through when they saw the White One.
It really goes to show however that even without his Newtype abilities awakening yet, Amuro was such an incredibly skilled pilot who mind you is the second EF ace in the OYW.

Same, this mission and the one where you play next to the Tristars and having to avoid guntank fire was awful as a kid lmao
All I remember learning about this mission back in the day was to use my two teams as bait to lure the Gundam away so i could get to White Base just for the mission to end. This is basically a Gundam games Kobayashi Maru. A no win scenario. You do what you can to end the mission as fast as you can. Sieg Zeon!!!

Love how the opening guy giving you the mission looks like he was taken straight from a still from the anime XD This is going to be a fuuuuun mission to watch.
This mission made me quit when I was younger. I couldn't figure out how to not die.
I wish we also had an AU variant with this.
CE = trying to not get seen by Freedom/Kira.
AD = Escaping from a TRANS-AM onslaught by Exia/Setsuna
PD = Surviving a confrontation with a dying Barbatos/Mikazuki.
I’ve tried meleeing them but they invincibly frames and your suit will bounce off from them
It's been a while since I've played this but I remember taking advantage of the A.I. , I would hide behind the rocks in the middle of the field and the gundam and guncannon would just look at me. That definitely made the mission easier
Every game has THAT LEVEL you dread repeating
As a kid this mission scared the hell out of me. I was only able to beat it by smoking and then melee stun locking each of the suits.
You can Get an S-Rank in the Second Play through using a single Dom with a beam Rifle. In the first Play through an A Rank is all I ever Managed at most.
Operation Odessa itself can be S-Ranked with Effort and Patience by Flanking The Big Tray but leaving your HQ Vulnerable with only one Unit to defend it isn't great idea. For the Odessa Campaign it's recommended that Nikki and Renchef be left to guard the Base Flanks. While you take Manning's team to Pick Off the Big Tray's Turrets from a safe distance. After dealing with the Guntanks on both Hills if Possible.
The Alternate way to S-Rank the next mission would be to Flank Units on the Forests by taking Leaving the Units at Base and Manually Controlling them as Desired for Forest Ambush tactics.
At most Big Tray's Cannons are the Problem. The GM Snipers and GM Command Units won't bother you much if you trick them into Coming towards you or blind them with SmokeScreen/Heat Grenades that Temporarily Stop their Weapons from Working.
This level was the reason why I never beat the game when I was a kid.
Okay but seriously though fuck this mission. The fact they can one-shot you despite the gouf kicking amuro's ass more than once in the show is ridiculous. Not to mention he can out run everyone AND know exactly where they are.

I hate that amuro is invincible.i had him surrounded in this mission with a bazooka squad and a mg squad behind him
Bro there’s no way fighting em in this level , we need to collect data only . It so frustrating that i have 9 dom around amuro but when we about to stab em he reflected with sheild 😭 in this game Amuro and Char is invisible until you use sword
@@rifqiiszaree3393 invincible not invisible. Still though i can't believe they gave them plot armor. Also i know you only need to scan them, i finished this mission flawless (no loss) on my next play through (new game and new game+)
@@rifqiiszaree3393 i remember also attempting to call an airstrike on amuro.
So for shits and grins back in the day I remember I was able to use Gameshark to allow me to use Char in the campaign. Him and Amuro just kep t shooting and missing each other. Char finally died since Amuro used his beam saber but Char couldn't melee him. So yeah I'm also not a fan of how this mission is set up with plot armor.

This mission always pissed me off! I hate how they make all of the trojan horse invulnerable so you can't damage them whatsoever as some sort of fucking hack. If they made it to where the trojan horse crew was incredibly good but still beatable it would still be rewarding. Or at the very worse, just make Amuro invincible and no one else. I can see Fenrir Corps getting beat by Amuro at this point but losing to Kai and Hayato? Hell no.

The trick was you just needed to scan the Trojan Horse and you won.
@@ironshadow6778 I always thought that you need to scan each of the units. Plus my units would always die when I got close to it.
@@Weiss_Hikari that's what the mission said but you could also complete it scanning the Trojan horse. I used two squads to distract Amuro and Kai on the left and I weaved past the Guntank's shots in a zig zag on the right. Scanned the Trojan Horse and that was that. Gerhart called the mission right away 👌 haha
